My sister was in a car accident Friday morning. Her car was totaled and towed to this business. After hours in the hospital, I called to ask what time we needed to be there to get her belongings from the car. On the phone, a very annoyed front desk representative told me I needed to be there before 4 because she had a personal appointment after work and did not want to be there later than 5 (the ACTUAL latest time we were able to arrive). I asked if there was a fee for after hours assistance and she said yes, but was "unsure" of the cost. "Uhhh i don't know, like around $177" My sister was finally discharged and we arrived around 4:55. I understand we were those customers who came in right before closing, but living in the South Bay and having such a long day, the 4 of us just wanted to throw the stuff in the car and go. She was visibly annoyed, huffing and puffing and had the audacity to ask if we could "just come back on Monday" to my sister's face, who was in a cast and neck all cut up. She rolled her eyes, and continued the paperwork. We were in and out in 15 minutes. I'm so disappointed in the unprofessionalism displayed and lack of compassion. How do you stare someone in the face who was just in a traumatic accident and attempt to inconvenience them more? I am a AAA member & trying to get some battery information for my car. AAA gives me this company number to call them to find out the cost of the battery, but I encounter a very unprofessional & rude employee. She is not only unable to provide a pricing information based on AAA members, but also threaten to hung up on me. Yes she did hung up on me!! More importantly, she doesn't even ask my vehicle information. I immediately call back & request to talk with the manager namely Lance. He informed me that he will listen the phone transcript to find out what happened. As a AAA member, I am extremely disappointed with this experience. No wonder they have a very low review simply because they have a bad apple in their company. I personally will not do any business with them period! read more

The tow employee scratched and dented my car and took pictures AFTER the damage was done so they would not be held liable. The dishonesty from this employee is so upsetting being from this company that is supposed to Provide a service of taking care of your property. That is a huge liability. Instead I paid hundreds for my property to be destroyed. I will be taking legal action if this company does not fix the humungous error and severe stress they caused me. The police department took pictures of it before the tow and the damage is not there. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

I needed help getting my car out of my garage and towed to a mechanic. Challenges were several: 1) in my garage (normal SF size narrow garage), 2) I could not turn the key in the ignition so the car would not start and front wheels were locked, 3) since I couldn't start the car, I could not put it in neutral. I called Action Towing this morning at around 8:00am and they were able to have someone at my house within 1hr. Tony was very professional and showed a deep caring for all of my property. I am on a slight hill and the car was several feet in the garage. He manuvered his truck up to the garage as close as he could so he could use it to reach under my car and pick up the rear. Pulled it out super slowly so the front wouldn't bottom out. Put rollers under the front wheels and off he went. It is strange that anyone thinks that it adds value to society to confiscate people's cars and hold them hostage for several hundred dollars. The individual people who work here are reasonable and not unkind - but the business model they implement is obscene. Where else do you get to enjoy the "service" of having your car moved less than a mile and then held hostage for $715? Yes, people make mistakes, and it is reasonable that people should have to bear some negative consequence when they break rules. But is this really a reasonable penalty for being a few minutes late to move a car? This company exists to make its "customers'" lives miserable. As much as I sympathize with the folks who work here simply because they need a job, they need to appreciate how much harm they inflict on a daily basis, and consider whether this is really the way they want to be spending their time. read more

Was charged $319/hr and 2.5hrs to travel ~15miles...they charged me for their time driving to the location and back...never heard of that, but didn't have a choice. Then they charged me storage fees since it happened on a Friday night and were closed over the weekend. Would have had to pay a 'gate fee' to get it out sooner and then no guarantee they could wait for my tow service to access the car before their one driver on duty didn't get called away. Felt cheated and ripped off and still upset about being in an accident and trying to sort things out with insurance. On top of it all, had to wait a couple hours to access the car because it was buried behind other cars and they needed the one driver with forklift experience to create a path. Bad experience all around. Dishonest and cheated by a company that is just trying to maximize profit and take advantage of people where they can. read more
