Active Auto Body is the best! Over the years, I have had numerous vehicles and have had body work done on a few of them at various shops. A few years ago, I was referred (by my mechanic) to Active Auto Body to repaint my 300ZX. They did excellent work, provided great service and my Z looked like new. Last week, my wife's Acura MDX was banged up in a parking lot. Although my insurance company provided a list of body shops to choose from, I was pleased to find Active included on it and I didn't hesitate in calling them. They again provided me with great service and completed the repairs earlier than expected. The MDX looks perfect and my wife is jazzed at what a professional company Active Auto Body is. I drop off my dog at a day care near where I work. I'm all about convenience - and when someone hit my husband's car, I needed to find a place close to work and home as well. I specifically remember this passing by this place because when driving by, I would think "If I ever get into an accident, I would probably check that place out because it looks so clean." During a rainy day off of 237 and 880, someone hit my poor baby from behind. I've had the car for 3 years, no scratches, and this was my first accident. Being a newbie on auto repair, I searched on yelp for a trustworthy place and found this little sexy spot. Extremely friendly and honest to the bone! Eduardo checked out my car, gave me an estimate that was a little over the insurance estimate. Since the accident was not my fault I didn't want to pay anything out of pocket. He looked at me, gave me an expression that can only be describe as the "Fonz" from Happy Days, and said "don't worry about it. I'll take care of it for you." Sure enough, he called the insurance company, got them to adjust to his price and bam! we were in business. I made the appointment to drop off my car. [I recommend you call them ahead so they can call enterprise for you]. When I arrived, enterprise was waiting to pick me up for my rental. I'm also adding to the long list of 5-star reviews. What a pleasant and outstanding place! My BMW was a victim of a parking lot hit-and-run, with a moderate damage to the passenger front ($4400 worth of damage). My car has metallic paint, and is 11 yrs old--harder to match the color exactly. They did a superb job of matching the paint color, finish is velvet smooth, and if it wasn't for the brand-new headlights that contrasts with the original driver side headlight lens that is pitted and scratched from wear and tear, you wouldn't be able to tell if anything was altered in this car! (now I have an urge to polish the original headlight lens and got back my urge to scrub, polish, and wax my car to maintain how good it looks, a feeling I have not felt for several years now) The car went into the shop in "obviously used" condition. Came out as-new! They even buffed out some of the scratches and realigned my rear bumper that was sagging as a courtesy. they even detailed the car in and out! the car interior has never looked this good! The staff is intelligent, helpful, knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, professional, competent, trustworthy... They definitely take pride and confidence in their work. Many thanks to Eduardo and Javier who kept me informed about the repair and the insurance issues, and Lisa for putting me at ease with all the insurance paperwork and other logistics. Once again...I have made my inevitable annual visit to Sean and his crew at Active Autobody. This time...it was scratches and dents on my Honda Odessey. Within minutes, my problem was solved. Sean has helped me over the years with different cars...whether it was a mercedes or a minivan, problem was solved fast and he was so reasonable in his prices to the point that I felt bad paying him so little. His shop is SO woman friendly and that is really reassuring since I have been taken advantage of from car dealerships and other body shops. As a working mom, i have no time or tolerance for bs service and that is why I always go to Sean for car body issues. His staff ( especially front desk staff) are amazing and so friendly. My review is long overdue. I've joined just to review Active because they provided such excellent service. My car required repair, not only to the body, but also required dashboard repair among other things. Active had to source out the dashboard repair to another vendor. When I picked up my car the first time, the wiring behind the center console was not completed properly by the other vendor. So, Active had to send it out again. Each time Active did a test drive to ensure the car ran properly. When I picked my car up the second time, the gas was practically empty, so the owner who was doing the test drive went and filled it up for me on the house. That was a nice touch. He was also very personable (as were all the other people at Active that I came into contact with from appraisal to front desk assistance.) The owner was also very apolagetic even though it wasn't his fault really. As there were still problems with the dashboard work, Active had to send the car to the vendor for the third time. The third and last time I picked up the car, the owner had taken the car on several drives to figure out a different problem that was recurring and to ensure that it was resolved. He seems like a very honest person who is doing what he loves. I think it's hard to find someone in this business that you can trust, but I think he is a trustworthy business owner. Although there were a lot of different things that was happening and I had to come back several times, I really feel that Active tried to rectify the issues and provided very good service. The body work itself that was completed by Active was done well and in a timely manner. Active also handled the insurance directly with my insurance appraiser. Very smooth. Thank you so much. My son has had two accidents a year apart. Each time Shawn and his amazing crew have turned the car around so quickly and professionally that I can't say enough!! They were sensitive to our time constraints. My son needed to go back to school in SoCal. Shawn located back ordered parts and artistically repaired the car on the left front end the first time and the muffler and rear bumper after the second accident. Each time they took the car apart, ordered the dealer parts and waited for the insurance adjuster to show up. As the adjuster wrote up the estimate, they put everything back together with the actual parts (so there were no hidden costs). Lisa was so efficient with the insurance company that I had little to worry about. My expectations are always exceeded. They are a great team. read more

Our experience with Shawn at Auto Body parts was amazing. He did a marvellous job in fixing our car properly after an accident. Not only that, when we went back to his shop with a car seatbelt problem (after 6 months), he fixed it for us without charging a dime and with a smile. Also, he fixed one other part which had come off and we had not even asked for it. Well, I am really impressed by his behavior and his capability/knowledge of cars. He knows the issues even before we mentioned it. It is always a hard time when involves a car accident. Active was not the first one I did the estimate. The first body shop was referred by the dealer and did not really tell how much would I have to spend for total cost. They even told me that they need to take the bumper off for 150 bucks to estimate and also need someone to take a look for the airbag system. I was so worried about if I would end up pay too much. A friend of mine tole me that she looked up Yelp almost everything and even a body shop, so I did a search. Some of the reviews for Active look sincerely. So, I drove my car there and Eduardo is really experienced. He didn't need to take the bumper off to do the estimate and showed us an example at their garage just the same problem that I had. He explained every problems in detail. Just 4 days, I got my car back(usually it takes a week to repair), and it is obviously a well don job. The price is nice and the car is cleaned up when I picked it up. I would highly recommend if you need somewhere to get your car done, for Active Auto Body is your best choice and they won't let you down!! read more

My nephew dinged the front bumper of my car and I wanted to get it fixed, but was worried about how much it might cost. I called my mechanic and asked him to recommend an auto body guy. He told me there is only one guy he ever recommends and that is Shawn at Active Auto Body. I called him and he got me in right away. Given that I've been here three times, this is a very tardy review. I first found out about Active Auto Body when my Toyota Corolla was involved in a collision in 2013 and took my car there in part because of the great reviews I'd seen here on Yelp. Immediately it was clear the reviews were justified. They had already spoken to my insurance and had a rental car ready to go and the staff was very friendly and informative. I went back again in 2014 when my brand new car (the one that replaced the Corolla) had a smashed window. Javier was very helpful and I had my car back good as new within a few days. Again, did not have to worry about dealing with a rental car company, they took care of everything. When a neighbor accidentally backed into the car, it was a no-brainer to take the car back. My schedule is a bit hectic and Shawn was very accommodating of my time. Strongly recommend using this shop! read more

In the past year, my car has been damaged by other drivers three times (!) and each time Shawn has gone above and beyond in repairing my car. He makes it so easy! A big smile, excellent, fabulous work (above and beyond what is required), a ride where you need it, and honesty. But , the topper is that last week I tore my front bumper almost off. My 2005 EVO was rear ended. Nothing major but some scratches and light dings on my rear bumper. Called insurance and they recommended a few shops. Active auto body showed up on the list and I remembered a bunch of s2k people taking their cars and having work done in the past. I dropped off my car and spoke with Shawn and Javier. They were really detailed in what they were going to do and made me comfortable leaving my ride with them. Shawn also offered to take care of my spoiler (notorious for fading.... FU Mitsu for shitty clear coating) while my bumper was getting worked on. After 2 days my spoiler and bumper were repaired and even some light scratches were buffed out. Pretty dope they would go the extra mile to touch up the entire car. When I picked my car up it was cleaned inside and out. They showed me my damaged rear bumper absorber and did a walk through. They called me 3x during the 2 days my car was there to let me know the status on my car. I used to only go to one shop back in the day but the owner retired. The team at Active Auto Body are very friendly and provide excellent service. I took my jeep to them last fall after a head on accident. They did an excellent job in getting it back to new. I was having some issues here recently that I thought something was seriously wrong with the steering. I took it back in and Shaun had it taken over to the mechanci shop and found they had a recall on the bump steering. They replaced it and now back to new. I am really picky when it comes to my cars. I have a 2010 Lexus that someone backed into. I went Active Auto Body and was met by really friendly folks. I explained that I wanted all new OEM parts installed. I got a call the next day and they had already received the parts that I needed...bumper, fender, headlight...They painted everything and had the car ready by the third day...less than72 hours. I was in a car accident with major damage done to my Isuzu Trooper. I was recommended to Active Auto Body to repair the damage done to my car. Once I got there they were very hands on and thorough with the estimate and repairs that were needed to be done. Great place! I was recommended there by the guy that services my Audi A4 after it was hit along the passenger side and needed a door replacement and paint finishing along the entire left side. They are extremely professional and did a fantastic job restoring the car in better-than-before condition. They even dealt with an insurance screw-up on my behalf. Shawn also fixed an annoying driver door inside handle issue that I just mentioned, at no charge. Only small knock was that due to some miscommunication I made one more trip there than needed, but worth mentioning since no-one's perfect, and that's the only thing I could find wrong with the place. Overall these guys are phenomenal and would highly recommend them - have even taken the car back there for additional work (broken window mechanism) where they gave me fantastic same-day service. read more

I brought in my after market fiberglass hood on my truck to get painted. I had seen previous cars painted here, and was very impressed. My quote was for $1000, thought it was a little high, but after speaking with Shawn I really liked his philosophy of doing good business. Quote: "every paint job that leaves this shop has my name on it, and I refuse to do cheap paint jobs". The painting process was explained to me in great detail, and he answered the few questions I had to justify the cost. When I picked up my truck (on time as promised), I was extremely happy with the way it turned out. The paint matched beautifully, and hood was aligned perfectly. I appreciated how Shawn broke it down to what went into making the hood look as it did. My only complaint I guess, is that my hood has no "orange peal" like the rest of my factory paint job. So, big props to Shawn and his business, I'm glad to have finally found a good paint/body shop that isn't stuck on themselves like some others that I have been to, and NO I wasn't given a discount to give a good review like other shops either. read more

This place is amazing--in a good way. I've owned two Lexus cars over the past 10 years and my most recent is a Lexus 460 2010 (Pearl finish which in and of itself presents challenges.). I have been a long distance commuter and with my first Lexus (430 2001) had two or three accidents that required body work. I think my former body repair shop did a decent job but from now on Active Auto Body is the only shop I will use. Their customer service is excellent (Javier). They're very honest and out of 3 bids came up with the most reasonable estimate. I also had a linear dent on my door that obviously happened when I was parked somewhere. Javier wasn't sure what it would cost to have their dent consultant fix it because it was in a part of the door that was not easily accessible from the inside of the car. I was going on vacation and told him I would pay up to $200 to have it fixed. Actually it only cost $85 and quite honestly they could have collected $200 from me and I wouldn't have known the difference. Their work and customer service is impeccable. You can't go wrong. My heart was broken when my wife rear ended a car in front of her with my BMW Z3 Coupe. This car I purchased recently in mint condition; looked like it was just driven off the dealer lot. I wasn't so sure to follow State Farm's recommendation to Active Auto Body as one of their "approved" body shop locations. I did the Yelp research, and found they had great references. Good enough for me, so now that the job is done, my car looks absolutely perfect! What an incredible business Sean runs at Active Auto Body. Not only was the workmanship (paint, fitting, gaps) perfect, they responded positively and proactively when I requested a minor correction in the fitting of some body panels. I'm a total perfectionist with this car. I had digital photos of every nook of that vehicle before the accident, and now the car looks even better! My husband and I have used Active Auto Body for several years. Most recently my red Prius needed its rear bumper replaced because I ran into another car while backing up. I went into Active on Monday afternoon, got a reasonable estimate (I was paying out of pocket), and signed the estimate to get the work done. Shawn the owner/manager ordered the bumper that afternoon. I took the car in on Tuesday morning and picked up a perfectly fixed and painted car on Wednesday afternoon. Excellent service, great job! I brought my car in for an estimate, not knowing if this business would fix my rear bumper or not--depending on other person's insurance. They did a very comprehensive check, including many photos. They e-mailed the photos to me so I could send them to the insurance company, so I didn't need an adjuster to look at the car. No pressure.
