Immediately upon meeting Alex, we felt extremely comfortable with his professionalism and honesty and ultimately went with him for the job. During the work, he uncovered some additional rot to the siding of our home. Given that this was something completely unexpected, he offered us different options such as getting second opinions, etc on how to resolve the issue. We felt incredibly comfortable and decided to stick with Alex to repair the rotted siding. Not only did he do a great job on the siding as well, but he worked day and night to help us repair everything as soon as possible. We were needing to have an older deck and open porch restained at our rental property after…read morereplacing some damaged boards. I was impressed by reading the 5 star reviews on Yelp and contacted Axel & Aaron Painting. We sent photos of the job to Kimberly (as requested) first, and received thier verbal quote from her. Since we hadn't met in-person and the quote was just verbal off of the photos, we wanted to meet them at our rental property to review the scope of work. My husband and I met at our rental property with the two owners, Pedro and Kimberly, and all went well. My husband spent considerable time with Pedro discussing the prep work needed. We felt comfortable proceeding, and even told them about our next job, in hopes that they could also do that (if all went well). But on Day 1 things did not go well. Two workers came to pressure wash, but Pedro was never onsite. The workers were done and left within 2 hours, before we could get back to the rental to see the work. It's a large deck and large porch with raijlings, and we found many areas had been missed, so we called them to let them know right away. My husband sent them photos as well showing the mildew and dirty areas that still needed more pressure washing (see some of the photos). We expected Pedro would of course want to come back out himself that afternoon, or the next day, Day 2, since the prep and painting wasn't going to start until Day 3, so there was still time. Kimberly, after receiving the photos, was dismissive and told us by phone "this is normal and those areas can just be sanded before painting". You cannot sand away, or paint over the mold/mildew they left behind. I think it would likely have taken 1 hour more of pressure washing and they would stay on track to start prep and paint/stain on Day 3 (the second day of work) but there was no response or assurance from Pedro it would be addressed. That evening they sent the bid with an extra $300 add-on for the "option" of two colors "IF" we were to decide to paint the railings white. This was the first and only written proposal, and it seemed fair, so we were still ready to proceed. We just needed confirmation from Kimberly, or a callback from Pedro that they would come back to finish the missed areas since. There was no still no reply. Instead, the next morning, we got an email as follows: "Unfortunately, we won't be able to complete your staining project as planned. As we mentioned before, pressure wash was completed. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations.". This is very unprofessional and caused us (and our tentants) a huge inconvenience. We saw RED FLAGS, and we were beginning to question if we should go any further with them. I am certain the quality would have been shoddy.

They were responsive, friendly and listened closely to what I needed. Together we came up with a project that was priced fairly. During the project they showed utmost kindness and patience as the original bid (due to my oversight) had the incorrect number of doors, and I also added baseboards. They accommodated me with a smile and were very fair with the cost. They have the utmost level of professionalism and know-how. They work hard and communicate well. However, when I needed them to help me fix an important issue with one of their previous installs, they let me down. I made an appointment, then just hours before I was set to meet with them, they cancelled. Not only that, I got a lecture by them about how the amount of money it would cost them to travel to my home. I get you have to be worried about your bottom line as a business owner. I get if you're too busy. But don't cancel and then complain to me about it. In essence, I'm sure they'll be great for a bigger job in your area. But ensure that they're going to follow through on it.

This was a complicated project involving a leaking glass sunroom built into a clay tile roof as well as seven more skylights. What we really appreciate about Armor Roofing is their rapid response and their constant communication, keeping us updated on the two month process of taking measurements, drawing up plans, providing a multi-page proposal with detailed costs, with updates on delivery of new synthetic tiles, skylights and a planned start date. Co-owner Santiago Rodriguez, who is project manager of challenging structures like ours, is a master craftsman. His hearty crew members are talented hard workers who arrived at dawn and worked way beyond dusk in the dark! They even pay attention to little details like cleaning up the ground around our house every evening before going home and texting us when they're going to be "10 minutes late"! After they did an amazing job, co-owner Santiago Guiterez came back a couple of weeks later and spent a day fixing a couple very small drip leaks on two facia corners. His mantra is "zero leaks."
