I have waited to write this review. They attempted to repair my passenger another small area around the gas door. My Lexus, which I worked hard for and once enjoyed. To start the communication cannot be any worse. My car was held hostage for over two weeks so I had to use my motorcycle for transportation on cold mornings. When I went to pick up my car, I pulled in and could see the bad paint job. All I got was an argumentative owner another office staff that cannot communicate. My covered most of this and I paid cash for some extra work. After seeing the terrible outcome, there was no way I was going to let them touch that car anymore. Two days later, the clearcoat started coming off the doors and the other section they painted. At some point, they tried to remove the backseat and breaking it and didn't notice for days. now the car is at another body shop that is reputable and they're struggling to fix it. Acton body shop is not going to be much longer as a safety insurance list of providers. I'm making sure the safety is going to drop them permanently. Acton auto body you ruined my car and I'm going to make sure that you do not ruin anyone Else's car. So now my car is tied up again and I'm paying a daily rental if I could give a negative star on every part of this shop, I would . Acton, Toyota, and other vehicle dealerships that use them will be stopping shortly. I will be heard on this and I will make sure that you feel the way I do right now. There is no discussions I wanna have with the owner or any part of this establishment. They have cost me triple the money out-of-pocket than the cost of the original job. I live a busy life and I don't have time to be writing this review, but my voice needs to be heard. you will lose all your accounts. This will be a project of mine. Very good body work on my Porsche. Couldn't do the windshield repair and told me to get it done myself. Insurance paid them for the windshield and Acton was supposed to pay me so I could get the work done. It took me 8 months of calls and visits to the shop to get my payment. Totally horrible business behavior. Excuses, delays, talk to manager, talk to accountant, talk to owner, etc. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my BMW in for a new bumper. I got a quote for $1150. I said go ahead and put down $100. He said it might be more $$ once we take the bumper off. The next day I got a call saying it might be $1000 to $2000 more and he would email me the exact estimate. (naturally I went crazy). An hour later I got the updated estimate for $4200!! I said put it back together, I'm going somewhere else. He said he couldn't do that because he took the entire front end of the car off. I said fine I'll have it towed. He then charged me ANOTHER $150. for his time. I took it to another shop that I had been to before and he looked at it. He said there was no need to take the whole thing apart and while the guy did that he broke both headlights and now it will be even more money! Giving them one star is being generous. Brought my car to them for a bumper. We had already bought a bunch of the parts so he told us the price would go down once he figured out what parts he would use. We were told it would take 2-3 days. After 4 days I started calling. I was told they needed to order more parts and it would over $1000 more. I asked about the parts I brought in and was told they would come off the final price. At 10 days I was told they were almost done. On day 11 I was told they would have it done by 5 if I did not have it washed. I told them I did not want the wash I just wanted my car back. I showed up at 4:50 and was told it was not ready. They still needed to wash it. I told them I did not the wash u just wanted my car. I paid an extra $1400 dollars and they brought my car out. First thing I noticed is that all my weather tech mats were gone. I went back and got my mats. I asked about my parts and they claimed to not know anything about it even though I had emails to prove they did. I paid and extra $1400 and the kept my parts. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. read more

My car was rear-ended during COVID so that meant parts were delayed but my car was in this shop for 11 weeks and came back with the electrics not working properly. The people seem nice and I want to support family-run businesses but, really, 11 weeks and still not done right? Communication was often misleading ( I was often told it would be ready and then it wasn't). Would not go back there and you shouldn't either. read more

These guys did a great job at a fair price in repairing a rear bumper. Afterwards they cleaned my car, inside and out (something I hate doing myself so I really appreciated it!) So that part was good. I'd give them a 5 but their payment rules are weird and cumbersome: no more than $500 on a credit card, the rest cash or cashier's check. I understand not accepting personal checks, but only $500 on a credit card? What can you fix for less than $500? The repairs took 3 days, and a friend drove me to AAB to pick up the car. That's when I discovered that they didn't accept AmEx. (The no-AmEx rule isn't written anywhere, nor did anyone tell me prior to picking up the car.) I had already gone to the bank for a pile of cash, and now I had to go back home and get a different credit card. I won't be back until AAB takes credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, AmEx. So I can't even fathom where to begin so I will walk you through my experience from the beginning. I have a year and a half old compact car that was rear ended and pushed into care in front of me. That's the background of damage. It started with a phone call and a mumbling man on the other end of the line. After a few "huh" and "what" interjections by me, I gather he wants me to bring my car in the following day so I do. I get there and explain the situation and that I have damage to the front and back as well as the fact the insurance believes there will be a supplement. Okay so now you have my car and I can hear crickets after being told they would call with and update. Lesson one: you must follow up to get any information out of them and even still you may not understand through the mumbles. Well they get the supplement and do the work which takes approximately 2 weeks. I get a call and am told the car is ready. "Superb" I think but then I arrive and notice none of the front end damage is repaired. Seriously how'd you miss that and what else did you miss? They apologize and tell me to leave my car so I do because everyone makes mistakes. Lesson two: it was a mistake to leave my car. So now it's a week later and I have supplement number two and I am hopeful I will get my car back soon. I call to follow up (yes because the only time they call is to tell you your car is "ready") and it's a toss up about whether it will be ready. Miraculously it's "ready". It is dusk so I can't inspect the car well but I figure hey nothing crazy looking and you had my car for over 3 weeks it must be right. Lesson three: it's never actually ready. I immediately go to the gas station as my tank is on empty only to find out my gas hatch won't open. I am examining and it appears full of ice. I jam my key in to free it (without this fill up I was getting towed somewhere) to find they left the foam adhesive stuff and apparently it went through the car wash and froze the whole thing shut. I now can't get all of this off and as I am looking at it I notice my bumper has a gap from the car. I look on the other side and no gap. As the anger sizzles out of my body I fill up the tank and continue home. I get home to notice that the front license plate holder wasn't replaced. The broken one was reattached but they managed to unbend the plate. Well the appraisal directly called this out so now I am seriously doubting the quality of the work. I call over the weekend and the following Monday numerous times to discuss these items. They casually seem to brush it off and tell me I can come in and they can do the work while I wait. I go in before work one day and wait an hour while I am told the bumper will never fit perfect after being told by my insurance they would approve genuine parts since the car is so new but only after market ones were used. Well they come to tell me they returned the license plate holder and they need to reorder. Now I have to come back again. Seriously am I on punked? Is there a camera and money? Nope just me wondering what else they returned and never installed. Finally I go back a few days later to get the license plate holder. The person in the office had no idea why I was there but thankfully one of the workers knew exactly what to do. Thankfully that was my last encounter because I was ready to start a bill for my time and mileage from all the visits. Everything has been addressed now and the inspection came back that work is done but what a hassle. I will not go back again. read more

2014 Acura RDX, routine front bumper repair/replace We chose Acton Auto Body at the suggestion of the Allstate adjuster in Chelmsford instead of going to the shop we've used in the past in (Auto Engineering Body Works, Belmont.) We thought it would be easier since it was closer to our house. A mistake. This shop takes your car quickly, takes it apart & lets it sit there. Like the handyman who takes the bath apart, then leaves for weeks, while you feel stuck in Parked Mode. They don't communicate unless it's to complain about how long it takes- parts take days, insurance doesn't respond, etc - all garbage to extend time. Eugene explained to me he's had cars sit there for a month! Don't make my mistake, just call AE in Belmont. They NEVER let cars sit, they never LIE to you, they have direct access to parts w/in 24 hours through a service they use and are very, very customer friendly - great guys. Now I know just how great. --If you want the details of our 20 day, frustrating experience, they're below.-- 8/3 Thursday 8:15 AM - Dropped off the car as scheduled, told I would hear from them Friday or Monday (?). 8/8 Tuesday: 9:40AM No word, so them called for status. Told fax request for additional work was submitted that morning, waiting for Allstate response. Eugene @ AAB told me: "your papers are right on my desk," "it takes a long time to get these repairs done," "it takes days to order parts" - and the "insurance company can delay things - takes a long time." He said insurance has 3 days to get the adjuster out. I asked when the three days was up- 3 days from present. 9:46 Insurance Rep: they have not received anything from body shop 9:54 Agent called body shop, confirmed fax # & called back- said the adjustment fax will be submitted to insurance that afternoon 8/9 Wednesday AM: -Allstate confirms nothing received from shop -Called shop & asked why no submittal: E said it was faxed the day before -Called Allstate: nothing received, agent calling bodyshop directly -Went over & looked at car, asked why it took extra 2 days to fax the form in the first place, when it was filled out on Friday, told their schedule had slipped, took a pic of the adjustment form & uploaded it to claim page & insurance Rep called: "just received the fax from the body shop" (all w/in 15 minutes) (YES the customer can upload the paperwork) 8/11 Friday afternoon - Called shop, told they've had cars "sit there for a month or more." "Parts can take days to arrive." "Insurance takes a long time" "insurance may want hi to get parts from a junk yard" "Most people don't care how long it takes." When told we were heading out on vacation & would like the car, Eugene said: "Don't you have rental insurance? You can rent another SUV" "Insurance adjuster just shows up they don't know when they'll look at it." "It will take at least another week." He was surprised we could upload document directly. I suggested they give me the time stamps from fax machine of his prior 3 faxes & I could submit a complaint to insurance, he didn't know how to do that... Called insurance- Rep said insurance adjuster makes an appt with the body shop in advance to view the car, appt will be made by Monday afternoon, adjuster will negotiate time frame for an exact repair. 8/14: Allstate confirmed adjuster had appt that morning - Checked the website: adjuster appt @ 11:45am, all the paperwork was filled out & payment request submitted by 12:23PM 8/15: Eugene @ AAB called & said Allstate was there 8/14 in late afternoon (notice that time?) they ordered parts today but will take multiple days to get them, estimates a simple front bumper & quarter panel replacement will be done in ANOTHER week: 8/22 I said, "ok, then" - Eugene hung up on me 8/21 3:30 pm, I got a voicemail from Tiffany saying the car was ready to be picked up. Was told they take credit cards for up to $500, the rest in CASH or BANK CHECK. We were out of state but returning that night, so that was fine. Payment method-BIZARRE. 8/22 9:30am, picked up car, They gave me a little paper receipt with "deductible" hand written on it. They don't supply receipts documenting their work or their time spent- you know like everyone else does. (I realized then the shop is in 1985) You'll need your insurance claim docs for that. I went to the rental place to drop off the car, rental coverage had stopped the day before when body shop contacted them- BEFORE they contacted me. Went right to Belmont who reviewed the work on the car when I arrived- there are pock marks on the hood due to how they sprayed it, the bumper is not fitting on correctly but it won't fall off- otherwise, it seems good enough to never return. I must have walked past 2 dozen dismantled cars when I picked up my car- THIS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN- I'm left understanding these guys are like repair men who come in right away, take down your kitchen wall, then leave for a few weeks while you wait. read more

Way to put a car back like new!! After a recent fender bender Acton Auto Body made my car like new again. I had low expectations of paint match because I know silver is hard to match, esp after 12 years of fading. I've examined the repair in various lighting and honesty cannot see any border between old paint and new paint. The paint is flawless, looks like the day I bought it new 12 years ago. I got rear-ended and ended up looking up autobody places near me. Since this is an odd occurrence for me, I don't have a regular shop. I went here based on some of the reviews found on Yelp and the web. Plus Enterprise picks you up there and you can drop the rental there without an hassles. And they dealt with the other guy's insurance. I'm ok with the work that they did, but it seems at the end of the job, they were lazy and missed a few things. After the accident and repair, my mechanic wanted to look over the entire car and the work that Acton Autobody did to make sure it was safe for me and my family. He said they did a good job, but they seemed to get lazy on the final touches. Here are a few things that they missed or rushed through: 1- The rear bumper (not the plastic piece, but the real one) was loose and not tightened securely to the frame and could have fallen off. My mechanic fixed this upon review. 2- The license plate lights did not work. The bulbs were broken from the crash and Acton Autobody didn't bother to check/test to make sure they worked. Acton Autobody did fix this when I brought it to their attention. 3- They forgot to plug in the rear reverse lights after repair, so I was driving around for a bit without reverse lights. I fixed this. 4- The trunk is still not evenly aligned as it was pre-crash. You can see the misalignment and uneven spaces. It works and doesn't leak. Overall, if I needed an autobody shop, I may or may not go back. They weren't awful, but wasn't stellar as the other reviewers posted. read more

I got tee boned and had to get the front passenger side door replaced among other things. They quickly identified all the work that had to be done and did a good job. It looks like new again. read more

Positive and easy experience. I was able to bring my car for a quote right away after calling, and was able to schedule an appointment within 20 minutes of being in the shop and receiving the quote. I was informed of all procedures and repairs that would have to be done to the car, and Sonia took her time to explain everything to me, which was a change to previous auto body shop experiences. This is a horrible shop. They took several weeks to fix our car. We we finally got it back, the hood was really misaligned, the battery tie down bar wasn't even bolted on and several of the body clips were missing (vs the factory clips). Also, it's like they left the windows down when they sanded the car. The interior was covered in dust! They wouldn't take a payment on a cc for more than $500. When we brought it back to have them fix their mistakes they had an attitude. read more

The work was great, the communication with me about timing (there were delays in getting parts) was always great and a minor issue after a repair was resolved very quickly. Went in for an estimate for a rear end repair. Looked like a minor dent paint job on you tube. Lady said would need to replace the rear door. She quoted around 2000 where as I got a quote for 700 from another shop. How can someone be so off on the estimate. I only went there because Acton Toyota suggested. Ok so Im back. Not by choice but I got hit from the first storm we had in Worcester from the black ice. So im stressed out cuz this is something I didn't need before the holidays. So I called Sonia over at Acton Auto Body and she told me to bring my car in. They took care of the rest got me a rental and dealt with the insuracnce company. I just picked up my car on Saturday and it looks great. Nice and clean and then we got another storm. But at least my car is back to normal. Poor experience. Refuse a check for payment of deductible and refuse to accept a cc payment over $500. MC or Visa only, no A/E. My check and or credit card is good for thousands at Acton Toyota but don't try to use it here. Have they ever heard of Vericheck? Paint needed to be rebuffed to bland in the paint. I've always had problems in the past with previous autobody repair shops, so a friend had recommended this place to me. I called the shop and had asked to speak to the owner. She was very friendly and professional. I decided to bring my car here to have the repairs done and was not disappointed at all. The work done on my car was amazing. Turnaround time was excellent, I didn't have to chase or harass people to find out when my car would be done. If I ever need to have work done on my car, I would definitely come back to this place. Absolutely Horrendous. I was rear ended and not at fault, I thought the process would be easy since this was the first time I was involved in an accident. I have awesome insurance and they let me pick whoever I wanted. I bought the car at Acton Toyota so I figured, why not use the body shop, they must be trustworthy too? Wrong! We gave "Eugene" our estimate papers and what parts were needed and had him order it before we dropped off the car so we weren't paying for him to do anything. TWO WEEKS prior. Well, Monday came around and I was using my car and wouldn't return to MA until Tuesday so we rescheduled the drop off from Monday to Wednesday. Enterprise came and picked us up, all was well. We were told we can have the car by Saturday! Awesome! So Saturday comes and I have to call them, because they WILL NOT call and "oh the part JUST came in yesterday" (Friday) um?? ok? Monday it's going to be ready. Monday comes and "oh the bumper is too wet from the paint, Tuesday it will be ready". Tuesday comes after calling his assistant (poor girl has NO idea whats going on in that shop or how to do her job) she has then told me that the bumper that they finally painted, doesn't fit. Let me get this straight. You ordered the part very late, dragged A$$ and now the part that you already pained doesn't fit? Seems like you make a living on the "parts and labor" (specifically the labor). I am so frustrated with the deception they provide. NOT HONEST, NOT RELIABLE DONT GO HERE!!
