Come dressed in clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty!…read more I came with my partner and we both loved the experience. It was such a fun class, and as first-timers to pottery, we felt like it was a great introduction. The instructors were helpful, and the whole process was really enjoyable. I'd definitely come back to make something new. Once you're done, they glaze your piece for you, and you'll have to come back a few weeks later to pick up the finished product.

Highly recommend Bitter Root Pottery's rooftop experience, especially for beginners! We were led upstairs, and I was surprised by the rooftop pond, and how beautiful the koi fishes were! You can also see the Hollywood sign in the distance. It was a very serene space. Filming is welcome (a plus for capturing memories!), and parking is free right out front. Just note: the lot is pretty small, so I recommend arriving early to snag a spot. Our instructor was super informative and made sure to spend time with everyone in the class, walking us through every step of the process. It was hands-on and beginner-friendly, which made it all the more enjoyable. The only downside is the wait bc our finished bowls took about 6-8 weeks to be ready after shaping them on the wheel. But honestly, it was worth it--they turned out beautifully :')

It was very interactive, easy to follow as someone who has no prior clay experience, and had a laid back and welcoming environment. I love that everyone here was so supportive and care about creating quality pieces! For the price, I think it's worth it considering it is 2 hours long and you are able to take your time. Would highly recommend taking a course with Reilly, she was super sweet and gave me so many pointers as a first timer.

They had clay, slip, and all the ceramic tools you could think of. Now when I first booked I thought we'd be using the wheel, but I quickly realized we would not. We had two lovely instructors who guided us through the steps and walked around to make sure we were following along. I will say some steps did get confusing because there was a bit of miscommunication, but it was quickly corrected. I enjoyed the whole experience and can't wait to pick up my piece in 4-6 weeks! Thank you for making this is a studio a place to express creativity ! Side note, it is on Melrose so as you can expect parking is a bit of a hassle! It is all street parking and it's extremely busy considering there's so much to do in that area. If you're lucky you might find parking in the residential areas and avoid paying the meter. Please make sure you read all signs before parking, it is LA after all!!
