What a busy busy Eye doctor's office!!! My appt time was 2:30 this afternoon. I waited almost 2 and half hours until I met my cataract specialist dr.Morgan Renner. She was so friendly. Experienced for cataract surgery. I almost lost my patience this afternoon due to the long long waiting time. However all the staff were so friendly and also, my hubby was so patient w me, I was able to wait about 3 hours. Dr. Renner was so attentive, my hubby asked many questions about cataract surgery, reasons, any other methods instead of surgery, and etc.....she answered us in details. Thank you. Dr. Renner! Thank God! My eye status was mild and not much progressed after 9 months. We were finally relaxed after she told us we can check every 6 months and I don't need the surgery. The medical building is located on the Walker and LA Palma street. Very easy to find the 4 story building, plenty of parking lots. Hopefully I won't wait too long for next appointment. To be honest, I got burned out after eye checkup blink, stay open wide, so many times in a row. read more

Cannot reach office to refill a prescription. I have spent the last 72 hours trying to reach Dr. Renner's office to get a prescription refill. The office phone number rolls over to the Acuity Eye Center call center, with no option to leave a message for my doctor. The call center staff are only able to make/cancel/reschedule appointments, but do not handle prescriptions. They have left multiple message for my doctor's office, but nobody has called me back. I am very close to firing my doctor over this. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for this afternoon. However, when I arrived, I found a notice on the office door stating that the office would be closed for the entire afternoon due to a malfunctioning air-conditioning system. As the office has my contact information, I believe I could have been notified in advance by phone or email, which would have prevented an unnecessary trip. The actual doctors as La Palma Acuity are great! I've been coming here for 3 years and the doctors are good. But the admin and receptionist staff are so mean, abrupt, and dismissive. They all have a terrible attitude and treat you as though you're a pest. They don't even bother to make eye contact with you. Also, good luck ever trying to get a hold of them at their 714 and general 888 phone numbers. You LITERALLY call for 2 weeks straight daily at least 12 times every single day to connect with someone. And then it's just a foreign call center that relays your msgs to the respective Acuity office, which never gets back to you. I have to come here in person on my way to work to ask a simple question about scheduling. Finally, the wait times are atrocious! You will always have to wait a minimum of 1.5 hours to be seen. And that is WITH an appointment. So bring your iPad or homework because you'll be sitting and waiting at least 90 minutes to be seen. read more

Honestly, it's not just this office it's all the offices in a whole. Nobody knows how to pick up a phone you have to call back 5 different times picking different numbers just to get ahold of someone in a different department to get you to the right department so someone answers and then don't get me started on how they schedule your appointment for let's say 3pm and will not even be seen until 5pm and their office closes at 4:30pm. The doctors are great but they can improve in figuring out a better system when it comes to answering phones and not over booking so people aren't sitting 2-3 hours to just be since for only 5 mins with the doctor ! read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I've been trying for weeks to get in touch--calls, voicemails, and messages have all been ignored. I'm literally at the point of taking a day off just to walk into the office in person again just to speak with someone. The complete lack of communication shows a blatant disregard for patient care and basic professionalism. It's beyond frustrating, it's disgraceful. I'm currently in the process of reporting this office to the appropriate authorities for their failure to provide even the most fundamental level of service. Dr. Lewis was very kind, but it doesn't make up for all of this. read more

Don't bother coming here if you need an appointment for your child if they're younger than 10 years old. They only see patients who are 10 and up. This wouldn't be an issue had the call center advised me when I made the appointment for my son who's 6. I gave the person all the details over the phone and gave my son's info along with birth date. Showed up, said it's my first time there and the appointment was for my son who definitely doesn't look 10 years old. Completed their new patient packet, paid the copay only to have the person come out to apologize and say they don't take kids under 10. Two stars because they did apologize for the inconvenience, but the check in process was a bit of a mess. Also it's hot and stuffy in there and you're required to wear a mask. Definitely won't be back if I ever need an ophthalmologist again. read more

Great place to go to have your eyes examined and doctors are very kind and the nurses are as well.

I would strongly encourage patients to not see Dr. Suk. He lacks professional decorum and has horrible bedside manners. When bringing up the fact he lacks communication he disregarded what I vocalized and stated " that's my opinion". Obviously it is my opinion that is valid and there is a reason I spoke up and said something. He then proceeded to say if I don't like the way he does things I should go to someone else. There was no acknowledgement of his poor actions or even a sensible response. I will be taking further action against this Dr as I strongly feel he has been mistreating patients and disregarding them and simply unengaging with them during their appointments. It's not a good feeling to be treated poorly by a physician and then when speaking up they rudely disregard you. Do better. read more

I came in after getting some sort of debris in my eye from a DIY project (gone wrong) causing my eye to become irritated for over a week. Worried, I reached out to my medical provider and was referred to this office. Dr. Dang was great! He was able to accommodate me into his busy schedule, was gentle with my eyes and made sure to keep me informed every step of the way. Staff was also pleasant. If your fretting about eye surgery Dr Renner is perhaps the best eye surgeon in Orange County. That's a bold statement ,but I underwent cataract surgery in both eyes and the procedure was the easiest outpatient experience I have ever encountered. Completely painless and fast like 10 min. Dr Renner is so professional and experienced and I can't say enough about the terrific staff in LA Palma who care about your eyes and your level of care. I've lived in La Palma for over 20years & always went to Walmart in Cerritos for vision exams, with my new job i have vision insurance so I decided to take advantage to a place so close to home. This place was easy to find and the whole process of checking in was smooth, i didn't have to wait too long & the assistant did the few eye tests on me,, took a couple pics of my eye,, then i sat in another waiting room then was called by the Doctor. She explained everything she was doing, she was friendly which made me feel comfortable & not so anxious about getting my eyes dialated Doctor has great communication skills as far as explaining things in a way i could understand, very informative. read more

Around this past Christmas time, I had a difficult time finding an optometry to custom make lenses for my frame that I ordered from Australia. I went to Costco, Walmart, Sears, and JCPenny Optometry departments, I was turned away because they all said my frame was too large (they were 63mm). I was shocked that all these big companies couldn't make the lenses for me. As I was about to give up, I decided to check out Friendly Eye Medical Group since it was less than 5 minutes from my home. Surprisingly, I spoke to Sayra over the phone and she made me felt comfortable and that they would be able to make the lenses for me. After meeting Sayra in person, she was very detailed and clear with the whole process. She informed me that it would take about 2 weeks to get the lenses made since Christmas was a week away. I was hoping I would get them by Christmas but that didn't seem like it would happen. I was happy anyway that I was finally going to get the lenses made. I just ordered the cheapest type which seemed standard since I already shopped around for pricing. I didn't have insurance so I was content with the prices that Sayra gave me. Just 2 days prior to Christmas, Sayra called to inform me that my lenses were done and ready to get picked up! I was so happy that I would have new glasses to wear sooner than the promised time. Sayra was extremely kind and genuine, I would definitely go back the next time I need new lenses! read more

Doctor wasn't bad. But when it comes to glasses and ordering them the girl made sure she ordered what is more convenient for the clinics and what bring more money to them not my mom. My mom was clear that she only wanted the reading glasses not the bifocals glasses. And it took them almost 2 months to deliver them. We went to pick them today and they made them bifocals not what we wanted. And the insurance would not cover her mistake of course so we had to pay for a new pair of reading glasses and they would not even give discount although it is their mistake. Wouldn't recommend them at all to anyone. Just get your prescription and go to Costco. Don't bother about buying glasses through them. Am calling my insurance first thing in morning to file a complaint against them. read more

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Yadvinder Dang at Friendky Eye Medical Group after being referred to him for a vision problem. He was so friendly and personable and above all, very thorough. I was very pleased that he did a variety of tests and explained everything to me about my diagnosis. His staff is amazing. Very kind and respectful. This place is so amazing I've contemplated just flying/driving here from NorCal to see Dr. Dang as my eye doctor. He's been the most thorough eye doctor I've ever met. What's awesome is that their office staff (Diane, Karina and Sayra - forgive any spelling issues) were so accommodating in getting an out-of-town guy like me in urgently given my irritation/tearing. It started about 4-5 days before in the Bay Area that my eye started to feel irritated and started turning pink. Fast forward a couple days and my eye was pink colored and I couldn't stop tearing and it felt like something was in my eye. Dr. Khan was awesome in doing a full check up and was awesome at checking things out. Then Dr. Dang came in and took a very close look at what was happening - turns out my flap from my lasik surgery 10 years ago seemed to be opening slightly. He threw on bandage contact to help it heal. On top of that he took a look and noticed early signs of an eye condition - telling me to just keep an eye on it as I age. I got excellent emergent and compassionate care from Dr Y. Dang after I was seen from La Palma inter community emergency room for very high intraocular pressure . I was not a regular patient of his but he accommodated me , and so were his staff who were very friendly , reassuring and accommodating to someone who was at high risk . Dr . Dang wants to make sure that I'm taken cared of , to preserve my vision and given appropriate care . He took the time and patience to discuss his findings with my regular ophthalmologist too , being my condition is a bit complicated than usual . As he was attending to me he was very calm , reassuring , explains what's going on and the appropriate plan of care . That alone allay much of my fear and apprehension . He sacrificed his lunch time , came to me directly from his surgery that time . That's dedication truly in itself and commitment to help those that are in dire need . There is really not enough words to describe how excellent this group has been and with an exemplary leader and competent doctor as Dr . Dang . Thank you all . He even called long distance today to check up on my progress and all he wished for was my recovery and well being . Brought my son in for his medical eye exam and the office staff was very informative. The wait was a little long but they dilated the eyes which took about 30 to 45 minutes. Which i could totally understand since this is something that needs to be done. I highly recommend this office to friends and family. I know how long the wait can be, especially with the ophthalmologists, but the wait is somewhat decent at this place. Easy to make appointment especially with an emergency case.
