At first i was a little skeptical about this place but it was highly recommended by coworkers. Seeing as how they worked with my insurance and I had to pay nothing, I figured I had nothing to lose. One of my main issues, due several stressful jobs, is headaches! I often pop a lot of IBUs for relieve but it never seemed to work. I came in here one time for acupuncture and wow! I left here feeling super relaxed and euphoric. I have had very few head since. The key is coming on a regular basis. The staff are super professional and friendly. I brought my daughter here as an alternative treatment to see if we could get relief for her migraines. Th doctor did not listen to anything I was trying to explain to discuss about her condition. He continued with her repetitive speech that he most likely gives to all patients with migraines. Even after explaining to him those things did not work or help which is why we were there, he repeated himself. I do feel it was a totally waste of my time and money as it did nothing for my daughters chronic migraines (which also cause her to vomit anytime she eats or drinks). The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the assistant that provided he massage was amazing. She listened and gave insight to certain tensions she felt. I will not be returning to this office nor would I recommend to anyone. Funny to see that you posted your comment still after I sent you the following response in our private message: I'm sorry you feel the need to justify the lack of communication by putting the blame on denial of treatment that wasn't even offered. I've tried holistic medicine couple time in my life and I've never felt "protected". I've never felt that it can help me, because all places I visited were crappy. So, before I went to see Dr. Zen I've already had expectations. But this time was different! From the first second I came I felt that it's something different. First of all, when I came in the office manager was super professional and did my paperwork quickly. Secondly, when I came into the room it was super clean, smelled good and there's was a locker where I put all my personal stuff. My first treatment was with Dr. Zen who was very empathetic and he listened to my concerns about my pain. Right after acupuncture treatment I received a massage that brought me to another level ;) I felt so safe, so loved and new I was treated by a professional. On a Friday a few months ago I was injured and couldn't walk on my left ankle, but I wanted to work so I visited. I was literally was up and about a few hours later. Then following Monday I went to work as a demolition specialist feeling perfectly energized and confident that I was up to the task, and I was. Dr. Z. was gentle and listened to my concerns. I should start by saying "I hate needles". This is not needles they are so tiny it's not even close to the same. I usually receive treatment while laying on my stomach so I don't see anything. My first treatment was after a major pull in my back that was worsened by stress & "resting." The doctor told me I needed cortisone shots in my spine & a bulging disk coupled with spasms could only be corrected with surgery. I walked into Dr Zens office hunched over and after first treatment the superficial spasms stopped immediately. As long as I am consistent during stressful times and right before my cycle I have not been crippled by backpain since I started. I never had shots or surgery, just yoga, sleep & acupuncture. From start to finish this is the BEST acupuncturist I have used! The office girls are so friendly and sweet and they already all know me by name! Dr Zen is kind, caring and is a master healer in my book. My first appointment 3 weeks ago, I walked in to the office waiting room with my walker. After being in a horrific accident and shattering my leg, then surgery with a plate and 8 screws, 4 months later, I am still in severe pain and I still can not walk unassisted. The 2nd week of appointments, I am able to use a cane! What unbelievable improvement! I was beyond thrilled for my improvement in just 2 appointments! And I really thought that it was the best I would get, after being told that i needed 2 more surgeries and a total knee replacement by my orthopedist. But after the 2nd week and 4 appointments, I walked in to the office without a cane and completely unassisted and barely limping. This 3rd week, I am barely limping and my pain is literally gone! I have been going here since 2014, and have never had a bad experience. They are so accommodating and quick and efficient with all the services they offer. I love that my insurance covers the treatments, but they are so affordable if you pay out of pocket as well. The reason I am finally writing a review is that I pulled my back while moving furniture on Sunday, called Monday and they were able to get me in the same day (wooo!!) and now it is Tuesday and MY BACK IS ALL BETTER IN JUST ONE DAY! I was in agonizing pain Sunday, couldn't even sleep. Monday I receive acupuncture which Dr. Zen focused on my area of pain while also doing a few relaxing points- then asked if I will willing to try electro therapy (I never do anything besides acupuncture & massage) and I trusted him and went for it and it was pleasant very, very comfortable but I think made a huge difference in my healing. Then, for my 15 minute massage she focused again on the area bothering me and even went so far as to put natural herbal pain relieving balm and patches that last 8 hours on the area as well as sending me home with more to change them out with. I went to bed last night feeling 90% better and switched the patches... woke up today at 100%. I have always loved this place, but this kind of recovery just makes me that much more of a supporter! I have only ever gone for anxiety or relaxing, stress relief- but I know if something ever happens that they can fix it. read more

As I ventured to Bakersfield,Ca I was recommended to try Acupuncture & Herbs. Dr has pleasant voice great bedside manners. The office was clean and smelled very aromatic the young girls were very businesslike and helpful. Although the massage therapist is very rough, less considerate of pain ;even when I advices her. Ava was her name she asked me lots of questions about my life and her laugh was very piercing to my ears as I just want to relax. I will continue to use the corner massage shops, less talk and more relaxation. She expressed how she feels about working there and her co workers wonder why she's still employed there? Makes you wonder. She told me many things that as a first time customer has made me a last time customer. I started going to Dr. Zen a few years ago for my severe headaches and high levels of stress. I was going twice a week and throughout that time, the number of headaches I had throughout the week dramatically decreased. Dr. Zen was amazing! After I sustained a broken collar bone a year ago, I have suffered from consistent muscle spasms down the length of my shoulder blade and nerve pain down my right arm. I have never done acupuncture before, but now, I am hooked. Dr. Zen inserted a series of needles in my back and arm, and when he tapped the last needle into my arm, I could literally feel a burst of tension rush out of my body. After 10 minutes, I began breathing faster, but calmly. My temperature seemed to rise. My head cleared. The experience in-and-of-itself was unique. After the needles were removed I received a focused massage that sealed the deal. I left Dr. Zen's office so relaxed I couldn't listen to the radio or even drive the speed limit.
