Before proceeding with Angel, I reached out to a fellow Elite Yelper (Diana C) to assess Angel's credibility. I was a bit hesitant since he only had 3 total reviews. After we messaged, it was clear to me that Angel was trustworthy so I gave him a shot. From my perspective, he was willing to travel out here so long as I'm willing to pay for the gas which was a reasonable request. Angel came on time and inspected the work. Since he was already here, I asked him if he could paint my front door. He was happy to and gave me a good price. With regards to his work, Angel exceeded my expectations when he was able to match the color of my house's exterior stucco color and successfully repainted my door using the same color! I cannot recommend Angel enough! What an upstanding, honest, and reliable person! After having had some not-so-great experiences with handymen in the past, I couldn't have been happier to have found someone like Angel. We first hired him to do a drywall patch and then liked his work so much we asked him to come back and do our paint job as well. We had originally intended to do the paint job ourselves and Angel went into detail on the best approach for it and even encouraged us in our plan to be self sufficient (it was a fairly simple paint job and he was happy to tell us so), but we liked him so much we had to ask him to come back. A number of reasons I highly suggest him: 1. No bullshit pricing and upstanding character: Angel's estimate for our drywall patch and paint job was the fairest I found on the market (by FAR) and he didn't try to rip us off at all after the fact. He held to his estimate and based on what we've observed from his character, I'm sure if he hadn't he would have had a legitimate reason why he couldn't. Keep in mind pricing often varies by distance so if he is located further away from you he may have to change his pricing model to suit that. 2. High quality work: Even despite him offering a lower rate than others, Angel provided his service with care and attention to detail. He was also very efficient and got the job done smoothly and quickly. We were very happy with the end results. 3. Responsive and flexible: Angel made time for us when our work schedules got in the way of things and was always very quick to reply to messages. He was available on short notice and squeezed us into his schedule when we expressed the urgency of our project. I have no doubt in my mind I will call Angel for future projects and fix ups. We needed the exterior of our house painted All of the planning was done via text including choosing the colors etc. it was super easy and not particularly complex (but neither was our house's color scheme of black and white). He started at the beginning of the rainy season, so he had to complete the job over several weeks, but honestly it was no disruption. They just came when they looked at the forecast and it was clear. We are so happy with our place. Due to circumstances outside Angel's control, some of the floor paint got chipped so he is coming back to do it . I asked for an estimate and Angel came over to assess the job which was to paint a couple of bathrooms where there was some mildew and peeling paint. The next day he provided an estimate. The price was reasonable and I liked the fact that he listed the steps that he would be performing for the job. It was supposed to be a two day job, but he and his crew managed to finish in one day (they came back later after the primer was dried) which was very convenient. He also painted a vanity/mirror area (which needed painting) that was NOT part of the original estimate! That was going above and beyond and quite a nice surprise.
