We haven't had Sapporo in a while and recently just went back, it's just as how we remembered it. The ramen was delicious. You can add additional items to your ramen but for the hakata modern, I liked everything in it. The broth is very flavorful.

Sapporo has really grown on me as a place to get good quality ramen on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. It's a little out of our way, but it's a popular spot for dates, as lots of couples can be seen conversing at the booths. The interior is warm and welcoming, and the food is delicious! Any of their pork-based ramen broths are worth trying, but my favorite item is the Ugly Pop, which is rice covered with chicken and fried gyoza and veggies. I enjoy my experience every time!

Food is amazing! Took me awhile to figure out what to eat but pictures on Yelp helped a lot! Food came out super quick and it was the perfect atmosphere for a quiet night to eat and then go shopping! It definitely hit the spot!

Had a great experience coming for lunch- the service was quick & portions were generous. Food tasted fresh and well seasoned. We got the Brave ramen, pork tonkatsu & shrimp rice bowl. Visited 7/23/25

This was our first time at Sapporo, but it will definitely be added to our ramen rotation. There's plenty of seating, and you order at the counter and grab a buzzer, but a server brought us our food. The pork belly was perfectly cooked in the ramen, and the broth was delicious. We also loved the dumplings. I didn't try the chicken katsu but the people I was with said it was good. Definitely a fast casual vibe, but a very clean, well kept place!

Their takeout ramen is amazing. I haven't been to this restaurant in person but their takeout is amazing. The spicy ramen broth is so flavorful and super spicy. Their noodles are also a great texture. The pork was also super tender and flavorful.

Awesome local spot for ramen. Was in town for travel and this place was right by my hotel. Would happily have traveled further. Good ambiance and the food/service is 10/10. Price is also extremely reasonable. The Sapporo miso was killer and so was the seaweed salad. If you're in the area check this spot out

Orochon miso (to go, so I transferred it into my own bowl at home)

I got the Orochon Miso ($12) and it was really good! It was better than the Hakata Classic ramen I got last time. This has a little kick to it, which I really loved. Broth was really flavorful. The pork was good, but could have more flavor to it. The way they presented my dish to go was nice, so nice job for presentation! After tip, it came out to around $15 which is pretty decent for a big bowl of ramen. I would recommend this dish!

Stilll my favorite place to go in GR - hands down. My wife and I call this our little secret date spot. The spicy chicken cup is my favorite item on the menu, so much so that I refuse to try anything else (and I've been here over a dozen times)! I like to get the fried gyoza with it as well, if I'm famished. We adore the anime / game play throughs on the tvs, as it gives it a unique lofi chill ambiance. The tables are typically clean and well kept; self-serve stations are decent as well. My wife even planned a surprise birthday party for me here last year! This will forever be my go-to for date night or a rainy evening where I just want to get out of the house... The staff always seem super bubbly and happy to be there. Honestly, I just hope this place stays open for many years to come. Overall 10/10 every trip. Xoxo love love love

Chicken katsu with rice and fried tofu

    1. Service was good. The people working there were nice . 2. The building was clean. They had on some chill music on. 3. Getting our order right took a couple tries. The cashier wasn't the best at speaking so pointing to the menu items made it easier. The part that bothered me was The food was tasteless or overly salty . There was no in between . The ramen had wayyyy too much SOY sauce. The rice was so dry you would thought it's been sitting out sunbathing . Tofu was cooked well on one side but not the second half. I had the best meal out of the 6 people. The sauce on the chicken katsu saved it and was used to bring hydration to my rice.

My girlfriend liked this spot more than I did. Don't be deterred from trying it by any means. I just found my ramen to be lacking depth of flavor compared to other ramen spots. However, my girlfriend said she had one of the best vegetarian ramens that she has ever had. Only other comment on the food is that the rice was completely dry and old. The inside was nice and clean. They were playing anime and lofi beats which created a good atmosphere. The service was good.

We stopped for lunch slightly after the lunch rush and still found a crowded restaurant. We were seated quickly and despite being pretty busy, our server was great and the kitchen was as well because our wait for food once ordered was minimal. We ordered Gyoza, Bao, Spicy tuna rolls and Big Shrimp Tempura rolls. 1. Gyoza-fantastic. Pan fried just enough to bring out the flavor of the ingredients and wrapper. Most places overcook gyoza and while still decent, are not nearly as good as these were. 2. Bao. Once I tried these out of town I was hooked. Have-not seen them one any menu until I came here. We ordered pork and it was perfect. 3. Spicy Tuna Rolls-slight disappointment. The tuna is ground up and mixed with the spices to make it spicy. I would not order this again. After talking to your server, she said I could oder traditional tuna rolls and have the spices applied externally rather than mixed up in a ground up fashion. Perhaps I will order this way next time but there is so many other dishes that need to be tried. 4. Big Shrimp Tempura. Wonderful. Great flavors I looked at other tables and Bento Boxes, ramen dishes and hibachi items looked really, really good and need to be explored as well. I'm predicting we will become regulars here. What a great place!!

I adore crab so ordering that was a no brainer. Their coffee is strong. It took a ton of cream to change the color... though it was delicious with free refills for $5. The omelette was heaven. All the flavors melded well and I appreciated the crisp acidic salad to cut the richness of the omelette. My only critique is wishing the crab salad topping was a bit more decadent. For $21 I was hoping for big lumps of crab rather than cool shredded mayo based salad. All in all, I love this place, I love the concept. It was quite busy and was thankful to snag a seat at the bar.
