Stopped here while in Hermann on the trolley for the day. Honestly, not my favorite wines, but the employee we ended up working with was great! We got there decently early on a Friday, and had to wander around a bit before someone helped us. I am pretty sure one of the employees saw me and went immediately to an employees only area and shut the door - almost like he was running away from me. Once we found someone to help us, she was great! Very kind, informative and fun! She led us through our tasting and poured us a glass to share.

The Oldest Continuously Owned Family Farm Winery in the Country! I am absolutely in love with this winery... why you ask because they have 3 resident cats that they take care of! Vet visits and all. They love their felines so much that people drop off their unwanted cats at this winery, knowing they will be loved and cared for. You know a person has a good heart when a cat can approach them. I wish this family owned winery a lifetime full of happiness and continued success. Also, they make some yummy tasting sweet wines, koolaid wine as I call it. And offer free cave tours! 6 sweet wine tastings for $10 & you get to keep the glass. Thank you for making our tastebuds happy and thank you for giving love to all the cats!

Beautiful location, excellent wine and food. We love taking the trolley to and from this location. Servers are knowledgeable and friendly.

A great winery in Hermann. Stacy was super nice. The tastings were $6 for 6 wines. I really enjoyed them. There was plenty of parking.

For Missouri wines, this 7th-generation family of vinters knows how to grow grapes & produce very good vintages. Covering the gamut from dry whites to sherry & ports, 6-7 are award winners. Much prefer their white varietals to many others in local production, even the reds are decent. Excellent value, most hold up well to other states wines, and delicious pairings can be made. Highly recommend.

Kinda disappointed by our experience here. We were really excited to come, but we never were actually able to go into the tasting room. We stood outside for 15 minutes because the tasting room was full. Finally after 15 minutes someone came and talked to us and she said just give it a few more minutes then you can go in. Another 15 minutes later another coworker came out and told us that we could just go in and didn't have to wait outside. As soon as we got inside, the worker inside told us to please go back outside and wait until she was ready for us. Very confusing and disorganized. We were willing to wait but kept getting mixed information from the staff so we ended up just leaving. The tasting room is very small. The employee outside was also smoking cigarettes under the patio right by the front doors. We were drowning in the smell while we were waiting in line. Very disappointed.

So much good food, but missed pictures of a few courses.

This has always been one of my families favorite places to visit for the great tasting experience. We got to experience their Norton 7 course dinner last night which made my opinion of the winery even higher. The dinner was amazing, the tasting was fantastic, and the people were the best. Parker told such great stories and history. Lee gave such a great explanation of the wines and the property (definitely coming back for an elevated tasting). Chef Alex made an amazing dinner... his mini beef Wellington and chocolate lava cake were over the top.

Wine tasting down in the cellar.

We had a good time here. The wine tasting was down the hill in the cellar. The cost was $5 for 8 tastings or $10 for 16 tastings. We did the 8 since we were tasting at so many places. We needed to pace ourselves. Haha!! Wine was served in pretty glasses & some was served with a bite of food that complimented the wine. Staff was very friendly. We bought a couple bottles & went out back to the tables in the yard. Cats wander throughout the premises looking for attention. Very sweet.

If you're looking for a winemaking family who is passionate about the details - down to the genetics and ancestors of their grapes - then look no further! We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. They've been continuously farming (taking a break from wine only during prohibition) for 179 years! You won't regret a visit if you enjoy wine!

Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

It was also pouring unexpectedly but that's no ones fault, obviously. The venue was clean but acoustics does make average conversation sound loud that I had trouble hearing the person next to me or the bartenders. I did the non reserve wine sampling which allotted 5 samples for $10. Many of which were made on property with Missouri wines and some west coast offerings. I tend to go for sweeter wines and found my selection to be quite palatable with two standouts as my favorite with the Schitts and Giggles and Lauren's Sweet Vignoles. I really would've preferred the tasting to be separate from the big room and more intimate as to learn more about the wine. Once poured, I was largely left alone standing at the bar where they only offer the sampling and so I felt a little awkward. One gentleman poured rather large portions while the other gave the appropriate amount. A water chaser would've been ideal between both to cleanse the palate. I do think a more intimate setting for sampling is preferred so I am not competing with the rest of the room and I am able to ask questions. The bartenders poured and left and you were on your own!

Our server was very helpful, especially with the wine choices since we were unfamiliar. All of us created our own wine flights. The pizza came highly recommended as well. For lunch we ordered the truffle fries, Smoked chicken wings, and Figgy Smalls pizza (with prosciutto only on half). The truffle fries were just ok. I honestly could not taste much of the truffle seasoning. We really enjoyed the Smoked chicken wings and the Figgy Smalls Pizza which I highly recommended. Our friends had the Vineyard mixed green salad with grilled shrimp and Pizza the Hut. They enjoyed their food as well. The only issue was the timing. The pizza did not come out at the same time as the other food. In fact it took quite a bit of time to get them. They were definitely worth it but it leaves part of your party eating so their food doesn't get cold while the others are waiting. We also enjoyed the live music while there. However you're in the middle of Missouri where grapes don't generate like traditional regions, and palettes are different. So if you're familiar with wineries and good wine this will be quaint but not your place. This is more of an event space with wine as an afterthought as evidenced by the gaggle of sororities and moms funneling in all day. Frankly, I was appalled at the event I attended for my daughters sorority. Everyone bought a $25 bottle of sweet or semi-sweet wine (that's this wineries specialty), dropped in a straw, and suckled their sippy cups. Their sweet wines are like wine coolers - and what college student doesn't like those? That should give context to the quality of wine and positioning of this space). Their traditional varietals all have sweet or fruit forward notes - Cabs are more like Pinots but lacking the depth and notes of a true spicy, bold cab. Past this, parking is like a festival, down a dirt road about a quarter mile walk from the front door. While I wouldn't return, it's a great place for an event and provides something unique to the area. And obviously the Greek system utilizes as a more sophisticated approach to the bars in Columbia.
