It won't let me give zero stars. If I could give less than that, I would. Have had the absolute WORST experience(s) EVER. It's plural because after he kept my car for 2.5 months, I still had to take it back and pay more for him to fix what they already 'fixed'. Was told he replaced the parts with OEM parts, but after taking it to another mechanic, it was discovered that he did not replace with OEM parts, but that is what we paid for. The mechanic also sent photos of cigarette butts under the intake manifold which only confirms the lack of respect his shop has for his customers vehicles. He supposedly has a 12 month warranty on parts and labor, which is stated on the invoice. Rightfully so, I absolutely DO NOT want that man to touch my car again. No one would after our experience. Well, he will not do the right thing and offer a warranty on the parts and refuses to reimburse for any of the labor...because "it's been 7 months." If my math is correct, that's less than 12. I can't afford for him to have my car that long again, just for it to not get fixed! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! Larry is extremely rude and unprofessional. He is horrible at communicating. You will have to keep calling to see if your car is ready. There's a reason he has 3.8 stars. I'm surprised they are that high. After I already dropped my car off, I was told I shouldn't have gone there. Others felt he is not trustworthy and he is unethical and lacks integrity. He sweet talks and makes promises and sounds like a super nice guy until you confront him with a problem HE caused. So 2K later, I find myself taking my car to another mechanic to actually fix the problem. If you leave your vehicle there for 3 weeks after the service he will sell it. They are did give me access to the car to get my things out they insist of me using my insurance and not pay out of pocket so they charge them more I'm sure. The tow truck driver did not use straps or do anything to secure my vehicle before attempting to load it onto the flat bed of his tow truck causing my car to roll forward and crash into the cab of his truck. My husband and I witnessed this incident and the driver took several pictures of the damage. Adam's Auto has refused to take responsibility for the damage. THERE IS A REASON EVERY REVIEW IS ONE STAR!!!! Long post alert but NEVER USE LARRY ADAMS AUTOMOTIVE!!! I took my car to him months ago when the motor seized up bc he gave me the cheapest option. After having my car a couple of weeks I hadn't heard anything so reached out to ask about the progress and he said "it's in the shop". I asked repeatedly how long I was going to have to pay for a rental and he said "we're working on it" every time. Finally after over a month I get the car back and it's making a whistling noise like a kazoo every time I accelerate. I send him a video and tell him and he said "yea I noticed that when I test drove it but give it a couple hundred miles and if it doesn't stop bring it back". Who gives a car back that has a new problem without fixing it??? Well I didn't want to take it back to the person who couldn't fix it correctly the first time so I took it to a dealership who told me he put an engine in that was incompatible with the turbo in my car. So I tell him to please go look at it since I wasn't supposed to drive it. He said he would on the phone. The day comes for him to look at it and he doesn't go. Says he doesn't work with idiots (when he's the one that put an engine that's incompatible with my turbo) and that I needed to bring it to him. He cussed me out on the phone, told my mom it was no wonder I was a single mother when she contacted to put his dogs up so we could come get my car without issues and told me to never come back bc he KNOWS he put an engine in my car that did not go with my turbo and wants to run from the liability. Took my car in after a small accident. It sat at his shop for almost three months (even tho I really just needed two things, my inertia switch and a new full sized rim). I called every week to check on the process, but after being told it was almost done for over a month, decided to go check on it the next time I was in town. It was still parked in the same spot it had been since being dropped off, and still on the spare tire. Asked where the new rim was, and he said it didn't fit but had a new one that was to be put on any day. Then we hit the 2 month mark, again was told it'd be ready within the week for 3 weeks. After those 3 weeks of calling almost everyday, we made the decision to just take it back home. the car needed to be jumped when we got to the shop, died at the gas station on our way home, jumped it back off. Drove all the way home (which is about 30 mins, plenty of time for it to charge back up, and it died again. The drive home the car pulled to the right something fierce, and was making terrible noises from the engine bay. Larry said he had to do something to the fuel system, but didn't explain what he meant. He has since admitted to not working on the car and that it just sat there. I've used him for years, and this isnt the first issue I've had with him refusing to work on a vehicle that was on property. Paid this shop to repair my front end after an accident. After a few days every time you touch the brake a loud thud from the front end. I drove by and asked Mr Adams what it was he got under truck with a large impact and hammered down. After he was done he said "that bolt calls for an 80 ft lbs torque rating and that doesn't seem right to me, so it had backed out you're good now. in case anyone doesn't understand that the manufacturers torque ratings should be followed, not under torqued or under torqued. A month or so later the boots on my CV had come off. alignment was way out so I dropped it back off. he charged me again now bringing my total to over 5k. the truck never was right like pre accident right. he had touched it 3 times now and was always having it longer than he said, never answering phone calls. the front end got so bad I felt it was dangerous to drive I looked underneath it and there was electrical tape. yea electrical tape on my cv boot. so I took it to another shop. another 4700 and some change. After the quote from the 2nd shop I called Adams and asked for a copy of my receipt told him I was going to sell the truck and wanted to show the owner the work done. his reply "well you can swing by and pick it up or I can send it to __________ since they are working on your truck right now". basically being a smart mouth. I replied yes that would be great. Spoiler alert he did not send it over. if I was him I'd be embarrassed that someone else had to fix what my shop had already done. Based on my experience, if you need you car repaired in a hurry, don't take it to Adam's. I went in at 1 o'clock and they said they would send someone over to pick my car up. It was 6 o'clock before someone showed up. My car sat in their lot for a WEEK before they started on it. The day they said it would be ready by 5 o'clock, I waited until 7:30 and the driver they said would pick me up hadn't shown up. I had been up since 4 that morning, so I went to bed. Someone did show up around 8, but that was too late for me. Larry did bill me for the amount that we had agreed on for the repairs. But then he wanted to charge me $80 for the towing. I feel like since he did the work, he said they "probably" would start on it the next day and it took them a week to even start on the car, WHY did I have to pay for the towing? I feel like he should have given me a break on that. This car isn't my daily driver, so it's not like I need it to go to work the next day. BUT the way I was made to wait for EVERYTHING and then be charge for the towing seems outrageous to me. I feel like Larry SHOULD have at least given me a break on that for my inconvenience. I had to call roadside assistance with USAA to jump start my car after the battery had died. The guy they sent wasn't very knowledgeable and couldn't jump my car. Then, a guy from Adams Automotive came by tow my car to a mechanic and he was able to jump my car in two seconds. Really knowledgeable guy, nice, reliable, and saved me a lot of trouble. This business does not deserve to be open. Not for the reason that you may think. I can see by the reviews that they do pretty good work, other than being dishonest. My problem is with the owner. A little over a year ago my husband died in terrible circumstances. Larry was called to pick up his car. When I arrived a few days after suddenly losing my husband to retrieve the car. I stated who I was and which car I was there for. Without hesitation, he said to me, "I'll tell you one thing, that guy was determined". He said this to a young grieving wife who quite honestly hadn't even comprehended what had happened yet. My brother was with me, it was clear what he said. I believe in a kind world where we need to think of others and not try to destroy them, and think before we speak to each other. I cannot be the only person this man has treated like this. Due to grief it's taken time to address this, but it is important. I will never erase what he said to me or the images he put in my mind. They've towed 2 cars for me and unlocked another. Always either early or on time. Always professional and friendly. I won't tow with anyone else if I have an option. They were super careful with my cars which have low clearance and I didn't have to worry about them scratching the rims either. The unlock was quick and easy and damage free. My car died at my Moms house, and I called roadside assistance to tow it to the dealership. Adams Automotive was supposed to be there at 2:15 today. I got a call at 2:00 saying they would be there in 15 minutes. I updated my Mom and sister who have been waiting all day for them to arrive. At 2:50 the car was still there. I call roadside assistance again, they try calling 3 times and no one answers. They said they left a voicemail and the driver should call me. An hour later, no call and no one picked up the car. I call roadside again, and they finally get a hold of Adams. In a nutshell, they told roadside to find someone else to pick it up. This company is not reliable, and has poor customer service.
