Ive been here a few times, I never get the same cut. The first time went well. The second and third I got the gray haired gentleman that doesn't listen to what your asking for And just gives you I guess what he feels looks good. The last time I went it was the same I asked if he understood me and he said yes but cut it his way anyway. Thats all for me folks. I don't like hoping for a good cut. Adam is a very talented and professional barber. He knows his job and can do pretty good with scissors and/or trimmers. All you gotta do is communicate with him, show him the picture of what you want, and he cut the exact haircut. Prices are reasonable. You can't beat the price. You can park on street. Usually there is plenty of parking available. You can also ask him for the parking. The wait time is moderate, depending on what time of the day you are visiting. Unlike most people who go to this place, I always hope not to get the owner. Why? Because I am tired of having to cut my own hair/correct the mistakes he made after every cut. One of his "trademarks" is to leave a "horn" in the middle of the head. For some odd reason, even when I ask him to correct the middle, he still cuts from the sides up and never actually reduces the "horn". I went into this barber shop with brother and I was watching the whole cut the man wasn't listening and proceeded to do his own thing. he only wanted a little of the top he took 6 inches off his hair. he was growing his hair out to donate his hair to cancer patients, now he cannot do that. this was so important to him that he cries every night. also not to mention there was bugs crawling all over the place and on people. there was shit all on the floor in the bathroom and stains. it smelled so bad in there. will never ever go again. read more

I am a regular. Been getting cut from Abdul for years. My fine blonde hair is difficult to cut because every mistake shows until the next cut. To make it worse if it's too short I look like a tennis ball. He has skills he learned in Italy that I can't find elsewhere. Scissors work best for me. Abdul is an amazing barber. read more

Today is September 7th. Your door is open, the lights are on, the "open" sign is on, the tv is on. It's 10:07 and in I walk. There is a gentleman sitting in the chair watching TV. I thought he was the barber when I first walked in. Nope. He didn't say a word. After 20 seconds or so I realize he's a customer too. I sat down and waited two minutes thinking maybe you were in the restroom. After 3 minutes or so I asked the guy in the chair where you are and he says that he thinks you went across the street to get coffee. Wow. You left your shop to go across the street to get coffee? It's 10:20 and here you come strolling across the street with your coffee and food. Unimpressed by this place so far. I hope you do a good cut. This isn't my usual place but I'm in a pinch. The owner does a good job, but they hired this new guy with grey hair and a wallet chain who is always there and just horrible. The last two times I went he was the only one available. It's like he doesn't even listen. I told him barely anything off the top and he takes off a massive chunk of my hair, no going back now. He might as well given me a buzz cut. I have been getting bald fades for about the past 20 years, You would think this wouldn't be hard and you could basically get a haircut like this anywhere? WRONG!!! If you like bald fades this is the place to go. Holy crap do these guys know what they are doing. Perfect attention to detail no rush. When I lived in NY and I would come back to Boston to visit I would always stop in to get a haircut. So yes they made me a very loyal customer. And not to mention they are super nice guys, always remember me and what I like. My first visit to bring a winter's shoulder length hair back to a men's regular. Adam worked a miracle in short time - outstanding cut which has received many compliments. Adam is very welcoming and friendly - very professional. The shop is comfortable and there is a large TV (with good reception too!) close to the chairs. I plan to be a regular customer. read more

To be honest, I was excited about giving this shop a try with all the great reviews. I came in and showed the guy a picture of the haircut I wanted, and explained that I just wanted it faded down to a 1 but to keep the length on the top like the picture. The guy did a decent fade job, but completely cut all the curls out of the top of my hair. read more

I just left Adam's barber shop and am safely home. I'm going to preface this review by saying I did not finish getting my hair cut - I left the chair after 5 minutes because I felt it was an unprofessional and uncomfortable atmosphere. I should have left when I walked in and saw that it was an 8x10 room with none of the usual barbershop paraphernalia like framed degrees/certificates or hair supplies. There's a man with clippers and scissors. I'm going to be honest - that made me uncomfortable, but I rationalized that obviously this is someone serving a different demographic than me and for all I know, he's a great barber. He was cutting a friend's hair when I came in (I assume it was a friend since no money was exchanged and he continued to talk to this person while other customers filed in, and even when he was cutting someone else's hair). There was one older gentleman ahead of me. Adam continued to talk to his friend while he cut the other customers' hair. Obviously, it took longer than it would since Adam would continue to stop what he was doing and look at photographs or make jokes with his friend. As this haircut continued, more and more people filed into the small room. By the time, I sat in the chair, I think there were about twelve other people in this small space. Since some of them were little girls, I assume not all of them were getting their haircut, so I was puzzled whether this was some type of hang out on the weekends for friends. Adam motioned for me to sit in his chair and I did. Then, his friend called him over and they continued to joke and look at photos on the friends' phone for five minutes. The place was shear chaos at this point with screaming children running around (at least 6 toddlers) and you would think that the proprietor would want to get people out since it was full enough at that point to be a hazard. However, he continued to look at photos on his friends' phone and laugh and make jokes. Eventually, I got up out of the chair and the owner acted shocked. I told him that I thought he was running "a very unprofessional business" and that I didn't think it was professional for him to leave me sitting there and to continue to talk to his friend while he was cutting other people's hair. He and the friend were mildly aggressive with me, which convinced me I had made the right decision in leaving. I had seen the older gentleman's haircut and while I am no barber, I think I dodged a bullet here. Granted, I did not get a haircut at Adam's barber shop, but I think the atmosphere of a barber shop is as important as the actual haircut, and ultimately, I want to warn someone who is unfamiliar with this place that it's not what a lot of people might think of as a barber shop. read more
