I am SO glad I found this adorable little shop! They fit me in same day and even worked with my schedule when I needed to change the time of the appointment. Everyone was so sweet and made me feel right at home. Lana had me cracking up the entire time. this was the best nail salon experience I've had. Kathy paid amazing attention to detail and did a wonderful job. I highly recommend them (they just changed owners/names of the salon by the way if you are having trouble finding it!) Just had a mani and pedicure here and it was fantastic! Clean, friendly and amazing customer service. One thing I always observe first at nail salon is cleanliness and whether they reuse certain items, which you are not suppose to do with certain things (e.g nail files), and this place is very clean and professional. The ladies were professional and the pedicure foot massage and treatment was just what I needed. Best gel manicure! It was my first time here and I got a regular pedi and gel mani. The owner did my mani and was super friendly and detail-oriented. I asked for an almond shape and usually some nails aren't perfectly symmetrical, but she kept checking the shape and it came out perfect. She also noticed a small imperfection and fixed it at the end of my mani! I really appreciated the attention to detail, especially since my appointment went past their closing time. Lana and Tracy place give the best manicures I've ever had!! I've been twice now, once for gel and once for dip. I was particularly impressed by the dip. Lana helped me pick the perfect pale pink, and Tracy did the smoothest, thinnest dip I've ever seen. The prices are reasonable (I think it was 35 for gel and 45 for dip) and you can pay/tip using venmo. Also, they really are ready for you at the time of your appointment which is a plus. read more

I called in a panic that I had broken a nail and was leaving the next day for my wedding. I had gotten my nails done at another place too far away, and didn't have time to go back. They had me come in right away and went to work. The exact color wasn't available and they offered to re-do all of them to be the same color. I have to say right off the bat the owner is so sweet and everything was clean and covid safe, looks like all the staff get tested. I've been getting dip manicures every 3-4 weeks for almost 2 years (with a covid break), I am aware of how long they take to apply and weeks they last. I came in for my apt, picked a color and relaxed as my nail tech went to work. After she was done I noticed that several of my nails looked like they had little bubbles or white spots on them. Keep in mind this is AFTER she was done....they were pretty noticeable and I wonder if she was just didn't think I would see it or if she just wasn't paying attention. The owner was super apologetic and fixed them herself. She had to fix SIX nails so now I've been there for 2.5hrs. She didn't offer to take any money off or extra hand massage just lots of sorrys. Ok I get it but then in less than 2 weeks I have two big chips, a crack and some lifting. Mind you normally dip last 3-4 weeks easily on me! For $50+ and 2.5+hrs I don't know if I would go back. Maybe it was just the color I picked, I understand some of them are annoying to work with but stillllll, super bummed, they are super nice! read more

I came to Lana Nails & Spa to change color and change the shape of my nails from the last nail studio that did my acrylics. Although they made the shape sharp like how i want it, the woman who was doing my nails shaved too far in on the side, into my nail bed. Instead if fixing it, it kinda made it worst. It didnt hurt at first, but it was really bothering me for the next few weeks. My usual nail tech was shocked because she thought it was done at her studio. I might come back if my nail ladys appointment is booked 2 weeks out. Beware of the bad reviews on yelp from before 2018 -- these are not for the current business owner who only re-opened this location recently! I knew Lana when she was still working at another nail salon in Medford and was so happy to see her show up down the street from my house in her own place. I'm a loyal convert and have been coming to Lana nails since, because I have no reason to go elsewhere! All of the women Lana has on her staff are attentive, friendly, and do a great job. I never feel like my pedicure massage is cut short and I always feel properly pampered by my manicures here. Color selection and the available services are all on par with other salons in the area but I think one of the reasons I've always liked Lana (and all of the ladies she hired) is that she remembers her customers and makes you feel important and special. I got my nails done here for the first time. I wanted to try dip powder. I'm a big fan of this place! Price was right, lots of parking, not too busy, and the quality was really good. My nail technician Katie also had a great sense of humor. She worked really hard to give me exactly the look I wanted. The only thing I didn't love was I noticed this morning a couple small specs of dirt or something else on one of the nails that won't come off, but it is hardly noticeable and I didn't notice at the time. I was a little apprehensive, as I've had some negative experiences with gel manicure at other places in the area (manicure only lasting for a week, nails ending up weak, etc) but Helen did an amazing job! She took her time and my nails came out great. They lasted almost 3 weeks (would have lasted longer if I didn't have to change the polish color!) ELLEN YOU ARE AMAZING! Everytime I come into town to visit my family in Boston I would be sure to make a stop at Sea Waves to get my hair done! I originally lived in California and whenever I visit my family in Boston I would make an appointment to get my hair done with her. Now that I've moved to NY I'm able to see her more often since it's only a bus ride away. She ALWAYS colors and cuts my hair to PERFECTION! There hasn't been one time I had been disappointed. I remember a time I was in town visiting and the hairstylist I had back at home literally ruined my hair color, she knew exactly what to do to fix it and make it beautiful again. I have been going to Sea Waves for almost a year now (although I have tried Princess Nails up the street near Papa Gino's - but that's for another review!) Ellen is always there and pleasant. There is another nail technician that is so adorable and does an amazing job with my nails but I completely forgot her name! Anyway, they have offers during holidays and when college grad or spring cleaning. I am addicted to gel. I can say that they are very helpful with color selection. I am pretty indecisive especially when there is a large variety in front of me. There was one time that they threw in the hand wax treatment (everything is a treatment there) and it was alright but an experience! The volume of customers that go there is usually 2 - 4 in the salon at a time. They have two flat screen TV's on, nice Asian displays, candies (including Reese's cups), two massage chairs, 2-3 chairs for hairstyling (I believe it is two), three tables for nails and a back room (which I never been) for waxing and eyebrows and maybe massages? I have went there a few times (not many) when it was late-morning or late-afternoon and either saw many customers there or up to two others and was told to come back from a mani-pedi in an hour. An hour? I have been sitting when they have told someone this. I do believe they have specialists on-call if the demand is high but nonetheless an hour (or just under) I returned to get my fix :) read more

I have been coming to Sea Waves for over 5 years to get my hair, brows, and nails done. I always leave feeling fantastic about myself and the service! To begin, the Sea Waves team are so caring and friendly! The salon is pleasantly clean without any smell of harsh chemical or fumes. There's a wide selection of nail polishes for regular manicure to gel manicure. On top of that, I usually see new nail polishes every season which is nice, as I enjoy having options like keeping up with new trends. I always get gel manicures that lasts 2+ weeks and my nails is still healthy and long!  For my recent service, I was desperate to get a quick gel removal and gel application before the new year (I did not have time for a manicure so please excuse the cuticles but they still shaped it). I wanted a subtle touch of glitter and was recommended an ombré accent. I love how my nails came out (as always)!  Furthermore, Elen is the only person I'll let touch my brows and hair. She is truly amazing at what she does! I love how Elen washes, cut, and blow dry my hair meanwhile ensuring each step meets her expectations. I have a lot of layers with a v-shaped hairstyle. I don't know how she does it but she makes it looks seamlessly blended together! I don't have the time to come in regularly to get a trim but I feel like I don't need to because of her. I read some good reviews on here so I thought I would give this place a try. I walked in and asked for a pedi & full set. I sat down and the girl barely spoke two words to me. She showed me no interest in having a new customer in the salon. She never bother to ask my name or anything. It is also safe to say that this place has no idea how to do acrylic nails. The girl used an enormous amount of acrylic on my nails making them look like mountains. I had to keep telling her to make them thinner. Each nail is a different length and different shape, some of them are crooked. They never cleaned up the acrylic around my nails and my fingers. They made underneath my nails bleed by pressing too hard. My nails looked so bad I ended up going somewhere else after to have them fixed. I would not trust these girls with acrylic nails. My pedicure was okay. My toes came out nice but I've had way better pedicures before. The girl definitely skipped a lot of with what comes in getting a pedicure. My total came to $60 which I thought was a little insane. Every nail salon I've been to its usually $25 for a full set and a pedicure. This place clearly charges $30 for each. That's pretty expensive for a shit job done on my nails. I will never step foot in this salon ever again. I work hard for my money and when I drop money on my nails... I have gone there before for my eyebrows and never had complaints but today I went for acrylics for my trip to Florida. The woman who did my nails (Im assuming is the manager or whomever runs the floor because she was speaking and taking charge of everyone) took off all of my cuticles on all of my nails down to the meat of my fingers until I had rawr skin exposed. She did a horrible job painting over my nails and left clumps and my tips were clear. Also she yelled at me because I couldn't find the hot towels that were hidden away in a fridge and complained "oh my god" in front of everyone and ran over to grab it for me. Went for a pedicure and am pretty disappointed with the results. The woman who did it took off almost all of my pinky toenail; my feet aren't exactly picturesque, but they look particularly crazy now that I'm waiting for a toenail to grow back. She missed entire pieces of a couple nails with the color polish and didn't do the edges either. The polish smudged while in the chair and chipped within hours, and I was very careful. Lastly they had some talk show on the tv that's directly in front of the pedicure chairs on high volume that was showing a brain surgery. Impressive yes, but not something I want to watch/hear.
