My friend has recommended this place for to get my first dip nails. They're normally packed but I was lucky enough to have squeezed an appointment in last minute on a Saturday. Parking [2/5]- Super limited in a shared plaza. I've been really lucky to have gotten a parking spot there twice (once to get my nails done and today to get them removed) I don't know if there's additional parking elsewhere in the back so this rating only pertains to the front. Reception [5/5]- I forget her name but she was incredibly sweet and competent and that's what I like. You're essentially the face of the business so if I'm a first time customer and I get a rude or incompetent person answering the phone, best believe you're not getting my money. Color Selection [5/5]- they have SO many choices from regular to gel to dip, it was overwhelming. They have fake nails to show you what your dip color will look like so that was helpful. Interior [5/5]: really clean, big and spacious. It's a nice setup with the waiting area to the manicure and pedicure stations. Dip Manicure [5/5]: I unfortunately forgot her name but she was fantastic. I wanted a pink white color and was having a hard time deciding between two colors and asked if she could mix. She asked me to describe the color I wanted and afterwards she's like I know the color you're describing and picked out the perfect color. read more

So I went a year ago and the nails came out pretty good. Aside from sloppy glue work used to adhere crystals, I got exactly what I asked for. Only issue was one broke off within a week. However, my most recent visit on 7/28/22 I was left extremely upset. I wanted acrylic and was told that the tech could only do an ombré design with dip. I was fine with this since i was assured they could thicken the dip to increase the integrity of the nails this time. My biggest issue is with the fact that the nails are more than halfway black when I specifically asked for only a little bit of black. What's worse is that after he filed the sides of the nails, much of the black filed off leaving the sides very patchy. Overall not happy with what I got and definitely not what I asked for. To top it off, I was charged 75$ The salon was very beautiful and overall relaxing, but definitely not worth it unless you want very basic dip nails. I wish they would have been more upfront about their ability to do an ombré dip and also mentioned that they don't really do acrylic when I booked my appointment. read more

First i'll start with the positive. The dip manicures are good! I'd give 4 stars for that alone. The techs i've seen are fast and efficient. I have had an instance of cuticle bleeding and the tech going down too far when removing my previous dip (ouch). But generally, the experience is pretty good. As far as pedicures, i'd give them 1 star. When I first moved to Medford 6 years ago, I used to get AMAZING pedicures here. But I just got one a couple of weeks ago and it was sadly the worst pedicure i've ever had. No dead skin was removed, and it seems like there was no top coat applied because all of the nail polish besides maybe one or two toes, had chipped off completely within ONE WEEK. Pedicure nail polish usually lasts me a month. It was truly terrible. I am going to try another nail tech next time. Hopefully i'll have better results. Its crazy how hard it is to get a good pedicure around Medford. read more

I've been coming to Elegant Nails and Spa for a few years now. Prior to today, I had a few bad experiences that had me ready to give up on here. After experiencing two other salons, I've decided to come back. The other salons had immaculate designs but the dip lasted less than two weeks. Elegant's dip lasts EASILY 3-4 weeks for me - I can go longer but have a higher risk of them breaking. I'm also a huge procrastinator, so I will usually call on the day I want an appointment and they ALWAYS fit me in. I will say that not everyone here is as experienced, so I will definitely be making appointments with specific people moving forward. My favorite people are Mimi, Jenny, Mia and Hannah (who is now at their second location, Luxe Nails & Spa). If you book with any of these ladies, you will NOT be disappointed! read more

I came in for a mani pedi, with dip power and tips added to my nails. I love that they use the lining in the pedicure tubs. I'm a germaphobe and that made me feel at ease since I was trying a new nail salon, especially since I'm one of those woman that is VERY particular about who touches and does my nails. Michelle did my toes, and did a decent job, but she could have put in a bit more work on my toes. She shaped my toenails well, but didn't quite cut the skin around the nails correctly, so I'll have to go somewhere else and have it done right. Vicky did my dip manicure and she took her time to give me the shape I wanted. Two of my nails came out crooked, but overall, she did a really good job with the shape and making sure I didn't have any hand nails after. 5 star nail salon. I've been a customer for years. You can always get an appointment as they have a ton of staff and they're literally all good. I've only had one time where I didn't love my nails and I obviously won't see that tech again. Prices are fair. They are good at designs and the staff is friendly and seems to enjoy what they do. I made an appointment for a Saturday. Which I highly suggest they were very busy! I noticed a lot of guests had to wait about an hour or asked to come back. I got a dip manicure for Valentine's Day. I had Sue she was very sweet and polite! She did my coffin shape perfectly. If I come back I'd ask for a little less bumpy. But it's not noticeable to others just myself. Covid regulations were in place they were using paper towels instead of a rag as well. One thing they are doing as well due to covid is when you do dip they give you your own white powder (awesome idea) in a plastic container very small to keep for you to use for next time you visit. I liked this idea however I was not told prior that I needed to pay for this especially if they don't even know if I'd be coming back. Personally I like to know if I'm going to have random additional charges made for my nails I think they should start telling customers PRIOR about this just out of respect. I think any salon should have this type of professionalism when adding on costs and not telling guests about it and informing them after the nails are done. I have gone to this salon a few times and it's very similar to other salons in terms of price, product and experience. I had an appointment for today and I arrived on time. I had to wait over 30 minutes. Ok, it happens. What should not have happened was that the woman doing my nails, "Kim", got up in the middle of my appointment and left to take another client who "had an appointment" without communicating with me at all. Her English is fine, she had been chatting with me earlier and, most importantly, I had made this appointment over a week in advance. She just got up and left me there, someone else came, had to set up etc and she finished my nails. That woman was kind and she explained it to me, but the change added on at least another 20 minutes. The treatment was rude and I spent a lot more time there than I should have. When I raised my concerns as I paid, they blew me off. I will not return. read more

Recommend! I've come in a here a couple times now, and my first experience wasn't great but I wanted to give them a second chance and I'm glad I did. The only reason my first experience wasn't great is I was looking for a very specific bit of nail art and they thought they could do what I wanted but they couldn't. However, the manicure was otherwise good and the French tip I ended up getting looked nice. On my second trip in my husband and I got pedicures. We called ahead for an appointment and when we came in we were able to sit together while we were pampered. The foot massage was great and I liked the wide range of color selection. I've been to this nail salon a few times now. The salon itself is conveniently located easy to find but close to no parking. The parking spots they do have are terrible to say the least. The first two times they did my nails, acrylic stilettos with gel, was average even good. So I went back. The third time a different person did my nails. She answered multiple calls while doing my nails. While cutting them down and shaping my nails she messed up. Most likely because she wasn't paying attention. My middle nail shape is thicker than necessary compared to the other nails. The middle nail is also considerably shorter than its surrounding nails, which is weird because my middle finger is longer than my other fingers. The gel on my right thumb has a big indent on it because she was rushing to finish the gel application. My re-fils usually take maybe 45 minutes, but with her it took 1 hour and 10 minutes. Along side this, she also walked up and left multiple times while doing my nails. She also left and made another lady do a part of my nails. No wonder it took over an hour. I was so disappointed. Most of my nails also have air bubbles in the gel. 38$ for a refill that ruined the shape of my nails is not what I asked for. The first time I visited, I wanted my eyebrows waxed. They took out the tail of my right eyebrow. Left them shapeless. Dropped wax on my eyebrow and my actual hair. I would not suggest getting your eyebrows waxed here. read more

Follow up review -I still really like this place. I've gone back 2 more times after my initial review. I think the first time my nails lasted 4 weeks. The 2nd time I did a matte top coat and I went back after 3 weeks just because the matte didn't hold up quite as long (looked dirty). But now I'm pushing 4 weeks again on my current dip. I'm from Connecticut so I didn't know any nail places in the area. I read positive Yelp reviews and decided to give this place a try. Parking is kind of tight since it's located in a mini plaza with limited parking spots, but additional parking is available on side streets. Walking into the nail salon there were many regulars as the staff referred to them by name and asked about family/past weekends and such. Already a great sign. I went in with a Pinterest picture of what i wanted. Jenny helped me find colors that matched what I was looking for. Emily did my nails and she was phenomenal! Extremely attentive to detail. I don't think my cuticles have ever been so neat. Even paint job, the best part is that they're attentive to painting the tip of the nails! Some places just forget and we all know how much easier it starts to chip. Great experience. I will definitely be coming back. Please try this place out! You won't be sorry :) read more

After coming here now more than 5 times I am going to have to drop my rating. Aside from liking Betty first couple services the overall execution of gel (not The dip) is mediocre. I also am a stickler for good cuticle removal and when you have gel it isn't done well. The dip requires a drill and that's how the cuticle is removed and I couldn't keep doing that to my nails. So back to my regular service of gel and it's not up to scratch. I also think that the overall experience is very poor. Yes this place is busy but cleanliness isn't there. When you look around all the stations are dusty and dirty. Tools don't look clean and the relaxing experience isn't there. It's just a stop to get your nails done and go. The owner should go to Jojoba in Arlington and see how each customer should experience a service. After the 4th and 5th time I won't be going back. read more

I've only been here once for dip (not counting one time I came for a single nail dip fix) and my nail artist Wendy was great! I got medium-long coffin dip. Not a single one has broken or chipped since I got them just under two weeks ago. I went to a different place over on a Columbus Ave and four of my nails had broken within two weeks -- I had to go back twice, and the third time I tried here for that fix. For my current full set though, I'm going to get them replaced in January so if anything happens I'll update. The only thing to note is that Wendy is very thorough so it took awhile. But I personally prefer that over a rushed, lower quality job! Definitely recommend for a thorough, lasting dip manicure :) Pics are after 11 days, don't mind my cuticles! read more

I came to this place before a wedding. I decided to get a gel manicure with French dip design. This was my first time getting gel done, normally I get regular polish or acrylics. The gentleman that I had doing my nails was SUPER careful in the painting on and sculpting of the tips, which I really appreciated (I am a perfectionist). I absolutely loved the way that they came out! They lasted great for the 2 weeks until I made another appointment. The second time that I went I believe I had Mimi, and she was great. Seeing as this was the first time that I had gel polish on, I was a little nervous about the removal process, the scraping. But this was super easy! I am used to the electronic file/sander, this was way gentler than I expected! Mimi was great to have as my tech. She was super sweet and easy to talk to. She did a fantastic job on my nails, they have lasted for over 2.5 weeks and have only just started to peel up a little bit. I would say that the prices here are average compared to other nail salons I have been to in the area. They are larger than the nail place I am used to, and this place is consistently busy which is a good sign to me! read more

Went here three times. First time was great so I went back. Second time I brought friends with me & my manicure came out absolutely terrible. I sent pictures and spoke to Mimi about it. She promised me up and down she'd fix the problem and for me to come in when I was able and she would personally do my nails. I kept wondering why people gave this place such high rating and I finally found out why. Elegant Nails & Spa specializes in basic manicure--not acrylics! My acrylics always end up too thick and different shapes and sizes. Another thing about this place is that the staff gets easily irritated if you request something or ask then to even a nail out. I don't mind paying for a service when it's done right which is why I try to tell them how I like them. They will sometimes ask if I like the nails as they're going through the process but when I say "Can you fix this?" they look annoyed and take up an attitude. Very booked and busy spa in a seemingly low-rent strip mall with incredibly fast and efficient nail techs. I had a glitter dip ombre manicure with Amy and she was as thorough as she was fast. There is literally no parking on the weekends so I would recommend working out some type of ride for booking during weekdays if you need to drive. The price was pretty affordable. $60 for ombre glitter and I believe that was with ombre being extra. I'm definitely coming back. read more

It says their refill is 19$ and a color change is 7$ and I was planning on getting dip powder so I was okay with paying a little extra for that as well as a shape change. She ended up taking off the acrylics I had on only to put on a whole new set (10$ extra). I ended up paying 59$ for a mistake she made because she put on a whole new set instead of just filling them in. I tried to calculate where she came up with 59$, but it kinda seemed like a rip off.
