We waited about 20 minutes before I finally asked the host, and then they seated us at the next table that was bussed. Our table was a little tucked away around a corner where you couldn't see it from the entrance. Now, growing up as a person of color, I'm more inclined to notice when I'm the only person of color in a space than most white people I've met are. So, I noticed almost immediately that all the white people who arrived after us were sat before us in very visible tables and then I (the lone brown person) was sat around the corner away from the entry. Now, I don't know these people, so I have absolutely no reason to think that this was intentional, but I need them to realize how it might look. You have to be cognizant of things like that. Even if they just forgot to seat us and the hidden table happened to be the next available, it looked very bad. Now, the server who was assigned to us was awesome. We told her we were in town for Rockville and we all talked about music. She was super nice and attentive. For food, I got the catch of the day grilled with grits and mashed potatoes. When I ordered this, I don't think I imagined how unappetizing it would look. Nevertheless, the fish was well cooked, but I found myself wishing that the grits were a little cheesier, the potatoes were a little smoother, and the fish had a sauce. It was a very drab plate both visually and from a flavor perspective. My companion got the francaise with scallops. It was good, but not enough to fill him up (which we would've expected from the price). So would I go back here? Probably not. I think that this place is kind of overrated, possible because there aren't a lot of nicer options in Daytona. Again, our server was awesome, but the food didn't stand up to our expectations, and the initial experience with getting seated was disappointing at best.

My girlfriend drive up to Daytona Beach pretty often, and we've eaten here handful of times so far. We've tried both the breakfast stuff and the lunch stuff, and the chef really knows how to give food great flavor. The last time my girlfriend and I ate there, I had turkey and bacon melt with bacon jam (for the third time) and it's totally amazing. My girlfriend tried the veggie burger for the first time and she loved it. Tom the owner told us they make it homemade, and she could really taste the difference. She said it was the freshest veggie burger she's had. The restaurant has huge front windows and a really nice view of the main road that runs along the beach. My girlfriend and I usually walk down to the beach after we're done and go for a nice walk, since the beach is right there, too. I definitely recommend Adam's Egg, its a great place to go. read more

This waitress with short blond hair got mad at my family because we didn't give her a big tip, and the reason for this is because she wasn't wearing a mask and was sniffing every second! Our ROMEO(retired old men eating out) group is always looking for new breakfast places once a week to patronize. I found Adams Egg on your list and decided to guide the group of 5 to the location. This place is very low key but don't let that fool you because the food is great, priced right, the restaurant is spotless, and it's always service with a smile. I had the turkey bacon melt at this restaurant and it was amazing! The turkey is freshly baked and the chef puts a twist on the sandwich by adding a homemade bacon jam. The sandwich is open faced which I like so I can eat it with a fork and knife. The wait staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. I was very excited they accepted dogs. When we arrived a man said it would be 10-15 minutes and to wait outside. Around 20 minutes I went inside to use the restroom. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. If you're going to charge around $15 for a breakfast, put a good-quality sausage patty on the grill. It doesn't take much to make a flavorful sausage gravy from scratch either, but this gravy tasted like it came straight from a bag or can and had almost no flavor. The biscuits themselves were actually pretty good, but pouring margarine over the top completely changed the taste. The sausage patties weren't very good and seemed like they'd been left on the grill too long. The fried potatoes were decent, and so was the sourdough toast. The staff was nice and working hard--they were extremely busy. There were a lot of people in line, so clearly plenty of people enjoy the breakfast here, and the place itself has an interesting atmosphere. The price didn't help. $4 for a Sprite is overkill. We had one breakfast with an egg, sausage, toast and home fries, one waffle, half an order of biscuits and gravy, and drinks, and the bill was over $40. At that price point, I simply expect better-quality breakfast ingredients. This is just our experience and opinion. The staff was friendly, and considering how busy they were, I give them credit for that. Maybe we'll give it another shot next year, but this time around, the quality just didn't match the price.
