I was obnoxiously followed like a shadow around the gift shop during my last visit about two weeks ago, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I'm an Adams' fan in general. I love trying new things and love that most staff know their departments and aren't hesitant to share opinions when asked and sometimes even when they aren't. It reminds me of old school service, and I haven't been steered wrong by their input yet. When this location first opened, I constantly had issues checking out at the front registers. For example, a deal might be advert but not reflected on my receipt, or I could buy three lemons and be charged for four mangos and issues like that. So, I am diligent about checking my receipts, but I haven't caught any issues like that in the longest time. I love that if I come in for items in one of their specialty areas, I can just check out right there and skip the front registers all together. I think this is why I do more impulse buys here than other supermarkets. The prices are high, but I've heard staff say they are treated well. Because of that, I don't mind paying extra. Adams is a must go whenever I'm in the area! This is my second location and I enjoyed my visit. I came to see the plant selection and the candy! I bought several items the candy counter. I got a selection of the fruit slices for my dad and niece. I got some truffles and a selection of chocolate also. The ladies at the counter were very honest about their opinion of the selection and gave great suggestions. The selection is so varied and there is something for everyone. I was able to get a lot of items for $40. The items I tasted were all good. I love anything with caramel and marshmallow and they had a lot to choose from. Scored big on the 75% off Halloween rack. Adams has great treats and even greater specialty coffee. The chocolate chip cookies were beyond homemade goodness and the crumb cake with raspberry was a taste sensation! i've been calling for two weeks. They knew I was waiting for Scotch bonnet peppers to come in. They told me one day they were coming in later at 11 AM. I went home and didn't come back until the next day. They told me that been sold out They knew that I've been waiting fora couple weeks, you think they would put aside a couple me? Adams is my go to for shopping for groceries. I love all sections of Adams you definitely are paying for quality ingredients and you know where your products are coming from. They have tons of local options in store whether it's produce, meats, honey, cheeses there's always a local option. I love buying my meat products here the quality of the meat is always great and they have on site butchers for requests. The bakery section as well makes some quality products if you try the coconut crème pie you'll be in heaven. I buy all my produce from here especially for my daughter I want to know where the ingredients I'm using for her meals come from. Even the flower section and nursery are great here. Adams is literally a one stop shop with great friendly staff and I love that they do customer appreciation weeks where you get coupons for money off and free products. Everything Always a special find there and at all locations I've been to Produce beautiful, fresh and fairly priced This trip included fresh fish purchased I bought 2 prepared pieces of fish from the fish counter: herb crusted cod and Mediterranean crusted salmon. Baked in toaster oven for 20 minutes on 400F degrees on piece of foil and a little bit of water so as not to stick. Flavor outstanding and do fresh no stinky odor thereafter. Visited on Saturday 7/29/23. They have amazing fresh produce, meats, seafood and prepared foods! Yes, we tried all departments! Very god choices too especially in produce and seafood. There's a cool coffee department too where you can try samples along with TONS of choices. Cheese department was very good and they were giving samples of various cheeses. It's got a Whole Foods vibe for sure. The pricing is very good also! Competitive for sure! Very clean and friendly staff who were eager to answer questions. This grocery store is amazing! What a beautiful, well stocked market. Hubby and I went in for produce as we've heard such good things. They have a beautiful section of wonderful produce! We bought strawberries, blueberries, peaches, nectarines and lemons. All were plump, fresh and smelled delicious. We also looked through the meat section and were very impressed. I really wanted this Adam's to be great, I really did. My family has been waiting years for Adam's to come to Middletown. Unfortunately it turned out to be more expensive and have less quality ingredients than the Newburgh location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can't even smell the bakery when you walk in, which is half of the experience of going into Adam's in the first place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then there's the lighting, the Newburgh location has a warm inviting yellow glow; as if to say "Relax and enjoy your time here." Whereas the Middletown location uses sterilized white lighting, needless to say it's not exactly warm or inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It feels like the lighting is yelling "Hurry and get what you came for and get out! Next customer!!!"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Almost every time we've went to Adam's in the past we'd get some danishes, the ones at the Middletown location are around half the size of the ones at Newburgh. The other day I tried their version of a Crunchyroll, it looked like they had put Rice Krispies on top it! Unfortunately, it was decent at best, and most of the other rolls don't look appetizing. I was so excited to see the sign that the seafood department was frying fish and serving prepared seafood meals. I ordered 2 fish and chips meals and one shrimp meal. I was shocked to see that the fish was frozen, beer battered, Van De Kamp style , supermarket freezer section, pressed together, processed, and molded fish. I was craving the general tso chicken pizza and stopped by after work.. Unfortunately they didn't have any slices available, but the helpful associate Vasquez took his time and explained that although slices weren't available, he can get a pie made fresh. He did an excellent job of explaining the options, was very impressive. I enjoyed my personal pizza and my customer service experience with him. This store is a great addition to Middletown. Excellent plants. Brought beef neck bones for stock twice and they had a fowl stinky odor. Cheeses are often expired. Some items are overpriced compared to Whole Foods or Wegmans/ even Shoprite Heard the head cashier and head person at the front kios making comments about a minority family with a child in the cart. They steal by hiding things in the cart under the kids.
