I almost didn't go in but I was curios and went inside and ordered. I must say that I felt very welcomed and after waiting a bit the food was ready. I decided to look at it while parked and it looked very good I started to eat. Perfectly seasoned. The taste was perfect, like a home cooked meal. I went on a Wednesday for lunch, there was a small crowd (maybe 5 people). And somehow, I had to wait more than 30 minutes just for two sandwiches! I've never experienced such slow service at a casual spot. I don't know if it was a new employee or if they were short-staffed, but it was a really poor experience. Food was fine, but even if in time, was only about 3 stars. The pita/lads on the sandwich was cold. It would take a lot for me to return. read more

I picked up a carryout Adam's platter for $20.99 and paid $23.88 all-in.  Overall, I say about 4.5 stars for the quality and value but I knocked it back a star (so 3.5 stars rounded to 4) because they charged an unannounced and unadvertised 4% credit card fee which I didn't register until I looked at the receipt later.  I don't like surprises like that out of principle and being a senior Asian guy, I carry cash anyway which I could have used. Rant over, I thought the food quality and portions were quite good.  The platter even included a lamb chop, again unadvertised but a pleasant surprise adder to the kefta and chicken shawarma protein items.  I don't know if a lamb chop is normally included, but I'm guessing probably not as it's not advertised and it's a premium item.  The salad, hummus, and pita bread were good quality also.  Like an ice cream shop, customers come and go in waves to this hidden and small strip mall location.  I had a little wait (about 15 minutes) at 7:30pm as a couple was ahead of me and the lone attendant took care of a carryout order also.   Overall, thumbs up, but do put a sign up about your convenience fee. read more

I think I've eaten enough times here to write a review: The owner often cooks and brings the food, and seem to be motivated by family/cultural pride and putting good food on the table and not just the bottom line. I highly recommend Adam's Combo because ALL of the meat including the chicken, beef, falafel, etc. is high quality, well seasoned, and well portioned. The hummus and the hot/garlic sauces are very fresh. Comes with rice, salad, and pita. Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food is on my rotation of favorites, and this is the best I've encountered anywhere in the U.S! read more

Since it's been three years since my first visit to Adam's Kabab, I thought I would update my first review to basically say the food here is as good as ever. Owner Jamal sure knows how to cook fresh felafel, among other things. His chicken shawarma is easily the best in the area. He always makes the falafel fresh. Adams Kabob in Glenview is a nice little place for some Mediterranean food. It wasn't busy when I went in on a Sunday afternoon. I took a few minutes to look over the menu and then decided on the Adam Kabob platter that comes with a little bit of everything and the Jerusalem fries. I enjoyed how the food is cooked to order so I didn't mind the little bit of wait to get piping hot food. The Jerusalem fries were interesting, I wish it came with more feta cheese because that was my favorite part about it. The fries itself did not stand out to me all that much. I wasn't sure what I was expecting. The Adams Kabob combo comes with rice, hummus, salad, falafel, pita, chicken schwarma, beef. It is a nice little around the menu eats. I enjoyed the portion size I had enough leftover for another meal. I enjoyed how everything was seasoned and cooked. The sauces that were provided on the side added a nice touch to the meal too. What a great hidden gem in Glenview! I was in from out of town visiting family in the area, and had to pick a spot to pick-up dinner. After seeing some rave reviews we called in an order for pickup! Service was quick and easy - the staff was incredibly kind, even threw in an extra soup for us. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma salad - and this was huge and PACKED with chicken! It was basically a chicken dish on a bed of salad. Deliciously moist and filled with flavor, this lasted me multiple days and was delicious all the time! My boyfriend got the Kefta Kabob sandwich - also huge and devoured quickly since it was so delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area! read more

This is a nice no frills kinda joint, the interior is small, just a few tables. No drink machine, only bottled and can options. You buss yourself but the gentleman did bring the food to the table, so there is some service. That all said, the food was very good. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich which comes wrapped in a large pita with potatoes inside as well. Excellent flavors but I did get some gristle which was the only low point. The falafel was very tasty and not oily at all. The dipping sauces were good, I found the white sauce a bit watery but enjoyed the spicy sauce and the chunkier yogurt sauce. The Jerusalem potatoes were excellent. I like the way they cut them and the extra seasoning is a nice touch. The crispy ones were the best, but not all of them were perfect. This hole in the wall Mediterranean place is located on Waukegan rd between a Dunkin Donuts and Dominos. You just might miss it, however I wouldn't. While pricier then other Mediterranean restaurants in the area, this place delivers large portion sizes and ample meat. We tried the combination plate to share and it was certainly enough food. 4 large kefta, loads of chicken shawarma, and a nice chicken breast. Rice, pita bread, hummus, salad and several large falafel. The associate even told us he gave us extra. It was enough for a second meal. I was impressed by the quality of food. Stepping into the restaurant I assumed by the lack of people (2:00 pm awkward time) and the small restaurant that maybe the food wouldn't be fresh but I was definitely blown away. All the meats were PIPING hot, juicy and flavorful. The pita was very hot and soft. All 3 sauces provided were bomb. The hummus was flavorful and the the salad too, surprisingly so. Often salads that come with meals are bland. The large pieces feta in the salad definitely added a great flavor and some texture and the dressing was also tangy and really good. Overall the food is a bit on the salty side, for those who are salt conscious but great overall. All in all, I would definitely choose this place for carry out and as a dinner option because there is just so much food. Do you like falafel? When out and about and you stop by your local falafel shop, the falafel are ... overcooked and bland. Not at Adam's. Lightly cooked and very well seasoned, these were a joy to eat. Don't let the price deter you from visiting, the portions are large. The lentil soup (a dahl base) is made throughout the day. Dinner tonight, lunch tomorrow. Or just eat it all. Regret not having the homemade baklava. Next time! read more

Its been a hot minute since we visited this place. I remember when this place first opened; so many great memories. Today we drove from Lincolnwood during rush hour to reminisce and it definitely did not disappoint. Im so glad this place hasn't changed over the years! The Shawarma is soooo moist and perfectly cooked. The falafel are still the best I ever had. Seriously I have yet to try a better falafel than this place and I live very close to the city. Everyone should frequent this place often and at the very least once; it is worth the drive and worth every penny. The portions are huge, the food was all great, and we have plenty of leftovers too. My only regret it not buying a dozen falafel. Also a HUGE plus is that it is gluten friendly (minus the homemade pita of course). See you in the future Adam. Fast, affordable, solid Mediterranean choice. Chicken shawarma sandwich - this was okay. It was unique in that it included chicken and potatoes, both of which were delicious, wrapped in a big, fluffy pita, but I missed the typical fresh ingredients that go along with it that gives it a refreshing crunch, like lettuce and tomatoes. It was really big though, very filling, and a good value. Grape leaves - this was a little pricier than expected considering there are only 8 for $10. It came on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. The grape leaves were okay - wrapped with traditional rice, it was a little more sour than I would've liked and also tasted a little slimier than I'm used to, though it definitely had not gone bad. Falafels - $0.99 per, this was the winner. They are perfectly fried, good 3-4 bite size each, and the inside was perfectly seasoned and fluffy. read more

Firewood Kabob in Buffalo Grove was one of my favorite places, so I had to check out the owner's new place (new to me -- it's been open for 5 years!) in Glenview when I was in the area on July 11. Adam's Kabob didn't disappoint! The owner, Jamal, recognized me from 5+ years ago, and went to work, freshly preparing my order. The falafel sandwich, which came served as a large wrap with salad and tomato inside, was enormous and delicious. My friend, who ordered the same sandwich, and I both selected combo meals, which came with a canned beverage and a choice of sides. We shared our chosen sides, and both were great. The Jerusalem fries were nicely seasoned and hard to stop eating! The side of hummus was very generous, and I'll be eating it long after the accompanying pita bread is gone. Adam's Kabob is taking precautions during the pandemic, so while we ordered inside the restaurant, we were not allowed to stay there to eat. That worked out fine, as it was a beautiful day, so we drove across the street and sat at an empty picnic table. And, bonus -- we got to meet Adam, the owner's adorable and very polite young son. I'll plan to return to Adam's Kabob when I crave Mediterranean food. It was a good first experience, and we need to keep places like this around! read more

Today I stopped by to grab dinner to go. I have never been before, but I left incredibly impressed. I ordered the kefta kebob entree. As I waited, the owner mentioned he was giving me soup to try along with my meal. I mentioned to him this was my first time and I was excited to try his food. He immediately began to give me samples of the chicken shawarma and sauces to try, along with even more chicken shawarma to go along with my entree to eat at home. The owner was incredibly kind and generous. The amount of food they provide is enough for several meals. This place is so worth the money. Please go check them out to help bring in more business.
