Since we ordered they had time to fill another table besides us, given time for them to look at the menu, explain a minor issue about not having rice without dill available, so they would need to make a new batch, and they confirmed that it isn't a problem to the table being served their food at the same time as us. So they had a substantially less time and they were even able to get their check to leave before we got ours. Food wasn't brought by the servers who took our orders so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe they cook the food in batches or something. Despite the the service the food was good. The portion size for the lunch special is appropriate for the price and probably the best deal. The in-house made pita is exceptional but I feel as if they don't give you enough when you order the roasted eggplant (baba ghanoush). By the time we finished the pita we still had about half the order remaining. I would have loved to ask for more bread but no one came by and our server, I think, was in the back because we didn't see her for some time. I didn't see a patio so dogs are probably not going to be able to enjoy. They are part of Lettuce Entertain You so if you're a member you can get points. Reservations can be made online. So with items being on the expensive side and service slow I probably won't be going back unless I'm in the area during lunchtime. I won't be rushing to get back anytime soon, though.

We decided it was not a good idea to drive to an unfamiliar area in inclement weather and canceled the reservation on Friday night. We were fortunate that Social Inn is close by and is a great restaurant for celebratory dining. Best of all, they still had reservation available. As it turned out, it was just light rain the entire evening on Father's Day, but we didn't regret the change at all. Although the restaurant was not filled to capacity, it was bustling with many families celebrating Father's Day, creating a festive vibe. It's the first time that we met the owner, Daniella, who's so warm and welcoming. She invited us to choose from available tables in three different dining areas. We selected the table right by the lounge that had a large TV, homey décor, couch and cocktail table. It was also right by the big window overlooking the small and charming front patio. Our server, Chis, was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I ordered a Lemonade ($3), my husband and daughter each enjoyed a glass of Mer Soliel Reserve Chardonnay (2 for $26). We shared a Grilled Octopus ($22) which was cooked to perfection. The warm, lightly charred pita points paired well with the creamy and tasty beet hummus. I had a Slow Roasted Lamb Shank ($39) which was tender and full of flavors. It was a very generous portion that I shared a big piece with my husband; and still had leftovers to take home. I really liked the bread that comes out it was hot hot, and was excellent. The portions are huge - it's like getting served a med pizza pan of meat and rice. The pictures probably don't describe how large the portion is, but I think it's really good value. The dining room is nicely decorated, I appreciate the furniture and the artwork. We did bring home two boxes worth of food. The beef and lamb koubideh is wonderfully cooked and it was steaming hot when it arrived at our table. What a sight!
