I come here for the chicken shawarma and it's delicious their food is so much better than Pita Inn.

I travelled 25 minutes out of the way to eat here based on the Yelp reviews. It was not worth it. The good: the chicken tenders are of a better quality than Pita Inn. They weren't too dry or over cooked. They get points for quality chicken and preparation. The hummus was also pretty good, but it is clear they put extra tahini in it. If you don't like tahini, you won't like their hummus. The bad: for $13.50 I expect way more than a few chunks of chicken thrown on a bed of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes with a scoop of hummus. The meal just didn't feel complete. Far too expensive and I was hungry after. For that price they should include a cup of lentil soup (which costs 20 cents to them). The hot sauce was mediocre at best, nothing compared to Pita Inn's. The ugly: I arrived at 8:34 pm on a Saturday night, starving and ready to sit down to a good meal. They advertise that they close at 9:00. When I walked in the employee was reaching up to turn off the "open" sign. I asked if I should leave, he said no, but that the shawarma oven was off and he was closing down. The place smelled strongly of cleaning solution, clearly he had one foot out the door. By 8:50 my meal was ready. I was planning on eating there as I don't like room temperature food and I was starving. I asked if he minded if I sat down for five minutes to eat, he said he did mind as he wanted to leave. I ended up eating it cold when I finally got home, Needless to say, I won't be returning here soon. read more

(08-07-2020) Ok, my friends who really know me know that restaurants in general are Not where I tend to spend money-- excluding coffee and sweet shops (especially those that have plant-based or 'vegan' options on the treats) and an occasional smoothie. A "carbophile" by nature-- especially when I am actively dancing-- real restaurants are oft replaced by the quick carbs. I am NOT necessary proud of my dietary choices, but yes, my 'natural tendency' is to the carbohydrate. (The brain, while it may be Composed of some fat-- runs on glucose. Carbohydrate. Red blood cells on carbs. More on that elsewhere! ) But Adam's Kabob is among my 'top 5' local restaurant choices, for several reasons: Food: The food itself is a delectable amalgamation of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine (and possibly African/ Middle Eastern, as falafel may be of Egyptian origin). It is satiating without being over-filling; two hours later, there is No regret or 'why did i eat that?' Its Appetizers are some of the best in town: I highly recommend the grapevine leaves; lentil soup when it is in-season; the falafel and Jerusalem fries are one-of- a-kind. The rice is delicious, too, not having the feeling of MSG-overload. Pita is pita, right? not so-- theirs is softer than most and flavorsome. While I follow a vegan diet with some 'cheats'-- I admit-- my Mom loves the Chicken Shawerma main entree. The kabobs have always been a hit with my friends and co-workers. Customer service: Even more important than the food perhaps is the customer service Adam's Kabob renders to its clients (myself of course but at least all I have seen ordering). The owners are courteous and polite; they develop the 'right amount' of rapport with their customers-- while still being able to complete the order efficiently-- and recognize their customers by name. Restaurant is clean and bright; welcoming. No, it's not Maxim's de Paris. Not meant to be. But it is offers wonderful food and warm, friendly owners and staff who, in a manner typical of Middle Eastern hospitality, are welcoming 'to a T' (perfect), and in doing so, nourishing their customers mind, body and spirit. Omg I have heard good reviews about this place but I haven't been until today. The food was sooooo good. My husband and I each ordered the Adam's Platter. More than enough food for at least two servings. It came with chicken tenders, chicken schwarma, lamb chop, kefta, salad, hummus and falafel. The garlic sauce was freshly made too. We recently catered a family gathering from Adams kebab, and it was outstanding! We've eaten there a number of times before, but only an entrée or so. For this larger event, we called Jamal, the owner, and he was extremely gracious and wonderful in helping us set a menu. The end result was extraordinary; the food is plentiful, delicious, and high-quality. Highly recommend the hummus and chicken Shawarma. I'm a big fan of Middle Eastern food and usually go to Pita Inn. But today on a whim, I stopped at Adams since I was driving through Glenview. The owner greeted me and was very friendly. While he was preparing my food, we had a conversation about how the pandemic has affected his business. He told me it's been a real struggle, since people are working at home and many are just afraid to go out now. I felt very comfortable patronizing this business though. It was spotless and dining in is not allowed, so I felt very safe. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the shawarma sandwich combo with Jerusalem fries and a drink. The sandwich was enormous, so hot and absolutely delicious. It was served with three sauces that were equally delicious - a hot sauce, tahini and a yogurt sauce. I really liked the hot sauce and the tahini on my sandwich and the yogurt sauce on my fries. The owner was so kind to also give me a complimentary slice of baklava, which was huge, and a container of his homemade pickles with jalapenos and olives. I tried one of the pickles and decided to save them for bloody Marys. They are delicious, with a bit of curry that differentiates them from anything I've ever had before. Very well done. I will go out of my way now to patronize Adams Kebab. You should too. Let's support this wonderful business and help him make it through this tough time. read more

We ordered from Adam's Kabob for the first time last night. The food was delicious and the owner couldn't have been nicer. He even threw in an extra falafel and a bowl of lentil soup for free. I've been wanting to check this new neighborhood place so I went with my daughter for lunch(Saturday) and tried the Adam's Platter($14.95) to taste a little bit of everything. Kefta, shawerma, grilled chicken, falafel, rice, pita bread and side salad. The shawerma and grilled chicken were tender and delicious although they were "too" seasoned for my taste. My daughter and I had to keep drinking water after every bite to wash down all of the seasonings in the meat. The crunchy falafels were great and filling(thanks to the owner who gave us more free falafels)! The place is clean with a few tables and chairs, and the service is great! read more

Based upon the 'lunch special' yeah I've experienced better...much better. I know it's tough to beat Pita Inn but you've got to do better than a tiny bit of chicken shawarma over a ton of yellow rice. The chicken was very good and the rice was well...rice! That was it! It's a tough call on a 3.5 place, but I'll round up. Overall it's pretty good, but everything about this joint seems to have a caveat. 1. The chicken shawarma is outstanding...but the only topping on the wrap is potatoes, which makes the total package too starchy. 2. The garlic sauce is phenomenal...but was bunched in only two locations in my wrap. 3. The fluffy pita that came with the hummus was delightful...but was completely stale in less than 48 hours. 4. The falafel sandwich was also really good...but the pita fell apart halfway through. 5. They sell hummus...but not baba ghannouj. That is like a movie theater selling popcorn but not candy. Sometimes you want one, sometimes the other, sometimes both. But you gotta have the choice. 6. All of the food is really good...but is priced about a dollar higher than it should be. read more

Love the garlic sauce in particular and our typically picky toddlers were even digging into the lentil soup. My wife and I just went here for lunch and loved it. We both got the kefta entree. The order took about 15 minutes to fill, which is perfectly acceptable. While we were waiting, the owner gave us a couple of free falafel to try. My wife is a bit of a falafel snob and said it was the best falafel she had ever had. The entrees were huge. Easily enough for two. The kefta was flavorful and reasonably tender. It came with a side salad and hummus. Salad was perfectly fine, the hummus was great.
