This was my first trip since they reopened. Not much has changed except the prices on the same menu. The place is clean. No remodeling was done during the shut down. The place was very busy on a Saturday night. We had to have reservations to get in. They were turning people away who did not make reservations. The staff was friendly. We didn't recognize many of the waitresses. Our waitress must have been new and inexperienced. She wasn't very friendly - just very mechanical in her serving processes. We had to request several things from her that should have been automatic from an experienced waitress. The bread was good. It was fresh and soft. It had a moderately sweet taste. Nice starter with smooth butter. My side salad was fresh as expected. Same salad dressing - good. The leaves were long and difficult to eat. Usually you don't have to cut lettuce. There were about two pieces of cucumber and tomato - not much accompanying vegetables. My breaded fish was good as usual as were the onion rings. My wife's tilapia was delicious as well. Give the reopened Adam's Lake Pub a try. It's pretty much the same as before if you had been here prior.

Love this place! Had reservations. They got us right in. Friendly staff. Lots of parking and seating. It's located in Wolcottville, IN. My 1st time having escargot and the didn't disappoint. The view from our seat, looking out at the Lake, was beautiful! It's worth the drive. Hopefully, they will reopen soon.

Very good the service was outstanding, but the pricing is alarming, 23 dollars for two crab cakes ? A bit extreme.

The food was good - just a couple of things that could be improved. We both picked the MSG pizza which included mushrooms, sausage and giardiniera. We had NO IDEA giardiniera is spicy! Like SUPER HOT. As much as I tried to pick it off my pizza, it made it so hard to eat and kinda ruined the experience. I'm sure I would have loved the pizza had I known to pick something else without spice! Maybe put a note on the glass at the front and on the menu designating spicy ingredients. Also, the caesar salad came out absolutely doused in dressing. Fortunately, we were both cool with that, but fair warning to others they may want to request it on the side. Overall though, cool pizza spot. Looking forward to giving it another try next time we're back in town and trying something NOT so spicy.

Shorty's Steakhouse (Garrett, Indiana) - looking for a unique steakhouse, not too far outside Fort…read moreWayne? Shorty's is one of the Salvatori's Restaurant Group offerings that is located on Main Street in Garrett. Head north on 327 to the downtown area. Shorty's is set in a small and older building located on the east side of the road. You will need to park on the street - which isn't an issue in Garrett. As I said... Shorty's is a smaller venue. The building holds about 10 people at the bar and 90 inside dinners. The outdoor patio appears to seat about 50 people. Shorty's is always busy - especially on Friday/Saturday nights. So, make a reservation via their website. The larger side room can hold bigger groups of 8-14 people. Otherwise you are limited to a table of four. Upon entering the restaurant you will quickly encounter the host stand right at the door. There is no real foyer area to wait for your table. You may feel uncomfortably close to a stranger if things are backed up. The bar area is one of the first things you see. Legend has it that this bar was relocated from a Chicago area business who had it installed in around the time the 1893 World's Fair was in Chicago. The bar wood work, design and finishing are gorgeous! Very inviting. The older part of restaurant retains the decor of the old building - attractive dark wood interiors/fixtures, green plaster ceilings and hardwood floors. All are very comfortable and welcoming. The host and service team were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of help to hustle drink orders, refills and follow up. The kitchen is very small. Food orders may take a bit of time when they are busy. So be prepared to relax, enjoy a bar drink, converse and admire the renovations. Shorty's has a decent variety to offer on their smaller food and drink menus. They are more than just steaks. In general, most items are a bit pricey...but probably normal for most area steakhouses. Here is a run down of the food we ordered: -Table Bread: nothing to special; white bread roll with a firm exterior and soft inside with basic butter; tasted like it was freshly baked -House Salad: nice sized salad with a fresh taste and ingredients; several side vegetables and cheese to dress up/accent the salad; the honey mustard dressing tasted familiar - probably not made in house -Crab Cakes: my wife loved her crab cakes; tender, full of crab and seafood tastes; nicely grilled exterior -Prime Rib & Baked Potato: delicious taste, tender and smaller amounts of fat; my medium rare request seemed to be more medium as I didn't see much pink coloring; the real horseradish lacked the usual bold kick that I except. The potato was baked perfectly and accented with the usual dollops of smooth butter and sour cream. Good steakhouse choice. Overall, Shorty's offers good food & drink selections in a unique setting. Remember, Shorty's is a very popular place and fills up quickly. Therefore, plan ahead and make a reservation. Shorty's is definitely worth a trip to Garrett to give them a try.

Good came out quickly and it was all so delicious. The tuna tartare special was fantastic! Might be one of the best tuna dishes I've ever had. The prime rib was flavorful and the horsey sauce good. We will definitely be back.
