I used the gift certificate I had received from the manager of Indulgence Day Spa over the summer, following an awful experience that I had, and I'm pleased to report that my return visit was a hundred times better. My esthetician, Joyce, was pleasant and friendly--but not too chit-chatty. She really let me sink into my cozy little cocoon and just chill out. Joyce was gentle and thorough and knows how to offer advice without sounding preach-y or sales-y. Always appreciated! The massage elements of the facial were sublime, and she spent a fair amount of time kneading out the kinks in my shoulders. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised to have such a good experience this time around. I could definitely see myself coming back here--and the facials are right on par, cost-wise, with other local day spas. If you're headed over here, I definitely recommend Joyce for your facial. (And if you can't get an appointment with Joyce, I recommend that you ask for another nonsmoking esthetician.) One final note: Indulgence has daily specials, Monday through Friday, that are worth checking out. For example, on Fridays you can get a free brow wax with any facial appointment. I love Indulgence Day Spa! I've been a "regular" at the spa for about 10 yrs now until I moved to NH. I tried to find a spa in my area that measured up but no such luck. The services here are fantastic & the staff are all very nice & professional. So I'm back again as a happy regular! The commute for me is a bit far, but it is well worth it! The treatments/services I've used at the spa include: ~Waxing: They do the BEST eyebrow shaping. My brows always look perfect after leaving the spa. I actually get complimented on my brows all the time! ~Swedish massage: Excellent massages, especially if you need help with a target area that is sore. My issue was with my back. I always felt so much better after getting a massage and they even introduced me to a product called China Gel which is a miracle cream for sore muscles! ~Facials: I have *very* sensitive skin and have had bad reactions to facials at other spa/salons. Their GM Collin line doesn't irritate my skin. ~Manicure/Pedicure: They offer a wide range of mani/pedi options which I love because I can choose if I want to get really pampered with a spa pedi w/all the extras, or if I want just a quick touch up. In a nut shell, I definitely recommend this spa. You will feel very welcomed & "at home" while there, and leave feeling refreshed, pampered & pretty! read more

I'm still searching for a great manicurist to do my artificial nails. Indulgence will make a nice fallback if I don't find something better. I had an appointment with Laurel for my acrylic fill (I think she's the owner). She's nice...but her personality is a bit intense for me. I like to relax while I get my nails done, and there was no relaxing while she wanted to talk. My nails seem pretty good shape-wise, but the polish is already starting to chip (it's only been 3 days), so I doubt it will last 2 weeks. And she used OPI polish and Selche Vite topcoat too - weird, that usually lasts a long time. My biggest complaint is that the entire nail area STUNK TO HIGH HEAVEN from the chemicals. Has no one heard about ventilation? If you're going to be doing acrylic nails - and have 4 pedicure and 4 nail stations in such a small area, you need STRONG ventilation. Definitely not there. I also had Beth, an aesthetician, give me a brow wax while I was there. The treatment room was very nice - quiet, calming, comfortable, and no smelly fumes. She was very nice and calm and gentle and did a great job. I'd definitely go back to her. And I'm thinking about getting a facial from her. read more

I have been going to Indulgence day spa for over 7 years for lash extensions. The women there work miracles! I am asian and have very tiny lashes but somehow I always end up with long fabulous lashes when I leave that place. I cannot stress how important it is to find someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to lash extensions. I went to some girls previously who put too much glue and my lashes were painful and were falling out in clumps. I ended up at indulgence day spa where they basically had to remove everything and gave me a whole new set of extensions. These extensions are amazing, fabulous, and of course painless. I do not go anywhere else for lash extensions. I have been going there twice a month for lash extensions for over 7 years! They have been perfect everytime!! I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to try lash extensions. read more

What a wonderful experience today with Reginique and Tamara! Reginique is a wonderful massage therapist. She was so kind and did such a fantastic job on the massage. I was so tense when I came in and after she finished I felt completely relaxed. Tamara is amazing! I loved receiving a facial from her. She also helped me find the right product for my skin. FYI...my recent review of this place magically disappeared. I had described this place as giving very bad manis and pedis. I took my friend here for her birthday and we expected to relax but instead we heard yapping between the two who gave us our manis and pedis - the entire time. My nails weren't filed well so they started chipping the next day and my friends feet were sore all week because they cut in so deep. I really don't recommend this place at all. If you want a relaxing experience, stay away. read more

I would give this spa five stars if I was just reviewing the facial. It was relaxing, lasted a long time and I got a bunch of skin care tips in the process. The body wrap is good if you enjoy epidermal scraping. That's sort of the point, it just wasn't exactly soothing, especially considering the room was cold and I couldn't stand having even one toe out from under the blanket. I didn't get to the mani/pedi portion of the Deluxe Indulgence package I ordered weeks in advance because the mani/pedi woman had her eyes dilated that morning -- and she didn't realize she wouldn't be able to see. She said she would still paint my nails, as she looked at me through squinting eyes. I declined her offer. Finally, the receptionist charged me the individual rates for the facial and body wrap. Granted, I would have paid for the facial, but I would not have ordered the wrap if it wasn't included in that package. After a brief discussion, she calculated the correct amount and I departed with my bag of full-priced facial cleansers. I couldn't resist -- the facial was that good. All of those problems may have been situational, but one negative that's not going away is the parking. I booked the package at this particular spa because I intended to spend several hours relaxing in a place where I'd be able to avoid parking/commuting hassles. However, the municipal lot they use required me to move my car every two hours. So, during my body wrap, I was told that the receptionist could feed the meter for me once or twice (15 minutes per quarter), but I'd still have to leave soon to move my car. What should I have done at that moment? Say, ok, let me go take care of that now? I'll just bring this big blanket with me? I was there in an attempt to leave my cares behind. Once I was told I'd have to move my car, it stuck with me until I conceded... I'll just get a ticket... whatever... I'm at a spa. Thankfully I didn't get the ticket, but that's one distractiton they should try to avoid presenting to customers. Can't they make a deal to reserve a certain number of spots in the lot? Hand out get-out-of-ticket-free cards to clients or something? read more

I got acrylic nails here and not only was the atmosphere abominable but the technician did a horrible job. They did not fit and were poorly adhered. I had an allergic reaction to the nail glue and ruined my nails for almost two years. I was not even warned about the damage it would do to my nails and was over-charged. i had the BEST bikini wax i've ever had here. I've tried a lot of places in the greater boston area, and was never really satisfied. So I went back to Indulgence to prep for my wedding. I did a trial run spray tan with Makayla (again, spelling?) and it went very well! She was very informative and guided me through the process. Be forewarned, you're naked in front of someone so get over that if you want this service. Makayla also did my waxing a week later, underarm and brazilian. This chick is FAST! She's great at making conversation too, which helps distract you from the blinding pain. What I was really impressed with was how Makayla took the time, after my trial spray tan, to help me figure out how I should book all of my beauty appointments and in which order. She gives you tips to make the spray tan last, and made sure the spray tan I booked for my wedding was with someone who would deliver the same exact result (since she wasn't available). Laurel did the tan for my wedding and it looked great!! And the price is just right ($35). My advice for the best spray tan is to book it in the morning (on a day off), shower the night before and use a good scrub to exfoliate. You want your scrub to have no moisturizers or oils (Bath & Body makes a great salt scrub for this purpose in their Blue Spa line). Don't moisturize after your shower!!! Your skin has all night to dry and get out the extra moisture. Wear lose fitting clothes (that you don't care about) after the tan (they might stain a little). You can't shower for 8 hours after you get sprayed, and you will look kind of dark, so be prepared to kind of look a little silly for the day (that's why I suggest doing it on a day off). read more

I just wanted to point out that parking is an hour for each quarter, not 15 minutes for each quarter. I have lived in Lexington for my entire life and I know this for a fact. The only place where half an hour costs a quarter is on the 30 minute limit meters. Indulgence is a nice place. I haven't been there in a while, therefore I don't feel like writing a review on it, but I just felt the need to clarify the parking meters situation. read more

I've been coming to this Spa for a few years now and I truly love it. They did a great job of finding a balance between professional and comfortable. I see a woman named JT there for everything from facial care to waxing. She has done such a wonderful job of clearing up my skin that I won't go to anyone else. Shes very knowledgeable in this area and makes her treatments specifically tailored to what you need. She always keeps notes and follows up on your progress. I strongly recommend making an appointment with her if you do visit this spa. The only downfall about this place is that it's a little on the pricey side but i guess you get what you pay for and I think that for how wonderful of a job they do it's worth the price. read more

I searched for months to find someone in MA who could do a decent pink & white (originally had them done in Maine) and after a few rushed, sloppy jobs where my nails turned yellow, I was SO HAPPY to find Indulgence Day Spa!! Laurel does a beautiful job with my nails! It's a small, but nice setup and your appointments fly by because there's a TV quietly playing and the staff speaks with you and makes sure you enjoy the visit. I am used to sitting quietly for an hour or longer zoning out, but this spa is a nice combination of relaxing and enjoying conversations with people. The other day Laurel squeezed me in (reschedule) and was able to do a complete pink & white fill in 30 minutes and it looks as beautiful as every other time. If you are looking for a clean spa and want beautiful nails, go here because you won't be disappointed. read more

Horrible experience altogether. And my appointments had not been scheduled correctly; I would have had to wait 30 minutes for my pedicure. So I left. I got a bikini wax here. Not the greatest. She went very fast, which was good, I guess, but a little more painful than I would have liked, but nothing out of the ordinary. I will never go back to this place again. I had a pedicure and Gellish manicure (the first one I have had). The pros: - I was able to get an appointment when my favorite place was booked solid. - My technician was very accommodating and friendly. - The price was not steep. The cons: - It was a dingy looking place and I have to disagree with other writers that it was clean. I felt it was stale and not much attention was paid to hygiene. - When the pedicure started she very sparsely trimmed my cuticles and then had a difficult time filing. It was almost like she could not keep a grip on the file and it kept slipping off my foot, then it was as if she decided that was good enough, I'll start the next step. She was unable to shape them nicely because of the difficulty filing. No attention to detail whatsoever. - The massage was almost nonexistent. Very light rubbing and not for long at all. - The callous removal was a joke! She rubbed my heels about four times each and then back in the water and then polish application. The application was messy and the polish is gathered at the cuticles which means this pedicure will not last after my nail grows out even a little bit. I was so bummed. - The Gellish manicure is the last one I will have here. She took my hands dry and started to cut my cuticles. My hands were so dry and I felt like I was going to get cut. She explained this is how this application has to be done b/c your nails have to be dry. They looked messy and dry and then she filed and went right to the polish. She was going so fast she did not see that there were bubbles in the polish and that it was dripping on one side into my cuticle. When I called it to her attention she looked at me and asked what I wanted her to do. I asked her to do them over. This stuff is supposed to last 2 weeks and why would I want to have a mess on my hands for two weeks? Then she did the same thing on my thumb and I asked her to do that over as well. She was very nice about it, but why didn't she see it was a mess on her own? Finally after doing three nails over she messed up two more, bubbles and she missed an entire half of one nail! I said nothing b/c I wanted out. By far the worst mani/pedi ever! Never never going back here. read more

Indulgence Day Spa is AWESOME! The staff and their new location make any of their offerings a wonderful experience. The parking is great--off road, no meters! Receptionists are really nice and helpful. Every technician appears to be skilled and quite competent. Clean, comfortable atmosphere, and lots of FUN! Laurel (the owner) has made the spa attractive and inviting. Prices are quite decent for the type of pampering we all deserve and receive while we are there. I recently started going to Laurel for the gel polish manicures and couldn't be happier. They usually last for 2 weeks, however, the last manicure lasted a full 3 weeks! There was no chipping or peeling at all. The removal process is gentle and even includes a parrafin wax hand treatment.. Also, the eye brow waxes are the best I've had at any salon. read more

I have been going to Indulgence Day Spa for eyelash extensions. They look so natural and beautiful that I am constantly getting compliments and requests on where I have them done. I have gone to spas for quite a long time and for various services. However this spa impresses me every time I go there. As soon as I arrive I am greeted by all the employees. As soon as I check in I am offered refreshments and engaged in pleasant conversations. I feel like part of the family. Not only are the employees wonderful but the spa is designed with such class. I am so impressed every time I go there. There are different areas for different services which make it so relaxing. Not only does the spa look awesome but also it is so clean and sanitary which made me feel even more comfortable and happy that I became a regular customer. Went to this salon as part of a bridal party. We had appointments throughout the day, however they saw many clients before it was my turn, and then must have run out of time for me because they completely rushed. My toe polish is sloppy, uneven and there are a few places where it looks like the brush fell off and got stuck to me! For the price, I expected way better! Honestly, could have done a better job myself. Even my gel manicure was not up to par. They didn't do anything to my cuticles at all. I have gotten far better for far cheaper, and only went here because the bride said it was the best. Not impressed. Such a shame. read more

I have been seeing Laurel for many years. I will not go anywhere else. I have lived in Windham, NH, Rye, NH and Andover, MA and will only go to see Laurel for my pink and whites, (which I always get compliments). Laurel makes sure they are perfect every time. My nails are always beautiful. She just recently started eye lash extensions, and I would only trust her to do them. I have had all the services and the staff is pleasant and always do a great job. so i had a wax the other day i cant believe i chose this place the girl who was doing my waxing was late and when i actually got in to do my waxing she burnt me and ripped off some of my skin then the next day got a wicked rash that lasted a week an ahalf the girl at the desk said to come in an buy this stuff for it i askd how much she said 20 somthing for a little bottle an 50 somthing for a big bottle not to mention i already paid like a 100 bucks for waxing which is alittle much since i wasnt off schedule for my waxes but i guess if your a new client thats doesnt matter and to top it off the when you go in the wax room you hear everything from the nail area and all you could here was this one girl talk about her personal life like a jerry springer clip read more

WASTE OF MONEY I am very disappointed in their manicures and it is not just one technician. I had my first manicure there several months ago and the polish did not stay on. I have natural nails so I thought perhaps it was my nails not holding the OPI polish. I had my 2nd manicure on Friday and the polish started chipping yesterday (Sunday). I did not do any housework, yard work or anthing that should have affected the polish. One and off I have my manisi done at the Burlington Mall and they usually last a week. They also use OPI polish. In comparing Indugence with the Mall, here is what I think......mani at Indulgence was done quicker. At the Mall they buffed the tops of the nails slightly and they may have put on another layer of polish. Mall sits you under fans to dry polish. Boring, disappointing, weak effort. The facial itself was a '3' - just average. Not bad but there was no pressure in the massage part. It was weak and disappointing. For the 10-15 minutes that they left me there for a mask to sit, I had to listen to the women cleaning up around me while I just laid there. The overall experience drops it to a '2'. There was a lot of confusion when I first arrived about who was doing my facial. No one was welcoming and they just left me there to sit while they disappeared for 10 minutes to figure out whose client I was. Then I had to wait an extra 20 minutes because the client before me was late. I feel that should have come out of her time, not mine. I had requested an algo facial with seaweed wrap but only got a spa facial. By the end, when I realized that I just didn't care and was actually glad to not be paying more for the algo. I also tried to use the restroom and was horrified when I saw a filthy restroom that was nearly out of toilet paper, paper towels and soap. Their excuse was that the cleaning staff often forget about that bathroom and only clean the one down by the salon. Disgusting! read more
