I would still recommend if you're in the area. We typically stop here when we drop car off at Big O Tires. It's a nice neighborhood walk. Addie's won't blow you away but good food and nice atmosphere. Had Breakfast Burrito. Added pics for reference. It was ok, not terrible but could use a lot of improvement. I felt hash browns should've been cooked longer to add a crunch to it. Similarly the tortilla could be cooked a little more; not crisp but at least lightly browned to give that burrito taste. Stopped into Addie's today for some breakfast before I headed to work. I had some time in between my hospital visit and the job so grabbing breakfast sounded good. I never knew this little joint existed! Searched breakfast near me and this place popped up so I had to check it out. I was instantly greeted as soon as someone saw me. I picked a table by the window and got myself situated. I ordered coffee and it was brought out right away. I did check out the menu while I was waiting at the hospital so I knew what I wanted. I got myself the eggs and bacon breakfast with a side of fruit. It wasn't really busy so my food came out pretty fast. I asked my server for to go packets of salt and pepper since I can't really use the communal salt and pepper shaker due to my new kidney. My server was great, grabbed me a couple packets and didn't treat me like I was weird for asking. My eggs were cooked med and jammy in the middle. My bacon was salty and savory. My coffee was fresh and hot. It's the perfect breakfast for me. My side of fruit was ok. The banana was pre cut so it looked kinda funky since it probably had been sitting for a bit. My orange and apple slices looked good. I did just have a couple orange slices. I have to be careful with produce and I didn't know if the apples were properly cleaned so I didn't want to risk it. The apple slices liked fresh and I'm pretty sure they were good. The venue is very cute and bright. I love the chalk artwork on the blackboard. My server was really sweet and everyone else that was working was nice. My food was great. I look forward to coming back. Especially in the spring, they have a fun outdoor seating area. This place was horrible. French toast had raw eggs and was soggy. Bacon was so burnt, we asked for fresh bacon not cooked so much and it was even worse(literally crumbled apart). Ordered this for breakfast this morning and I've been sick all day since. I had the French toast meal and I took a bite and an immediate taste of mold filled my mouth. I thought maybe it was just that bite but it was every bite (I didn't even eat a full half of a slice) the taste was so overpowering and it ruined it. I'm not sure what's used to cook with or if the bread was bad and nobody noticed but unfortunately I won't be trying it again. My boyfriend said his chicken fried steak was "meh" so overall not great. Was really hoping it would be good since we've read pretty good reviews but I'm disappointed. read more

Adding another review five years later to say I still dream of these pancakes. I'm flabbergasted that there aren't more reviews talking about these pancakes. Every single time I have a conversation where pancakes are mentioned, I completely derail the conversation to talk about Addie's pancakes. Any time anyone tells me they're traveling to Boise, I tell them to eat the pancakes here. I have the address memorized. If there was an Addie's fan club, I would be the president and likely the founder. I have not lived in Idaho since 2017 or had the pleasure of eating there since 2018, but I will never forget these pancakes. Normally this place is good hangover food. Nothing special but not bad. Last time completely changed that. Waiters were arguing over something so we didn't get service for about 45 minutes, food came out cold when it finally did, but for some reason the orange juice was hot. Horrible Service. After seating the waitress with the dark hair stated the kitchen was behind and food would be about 20 minutes, no problem. After 30 minutes she hadn't even taken our order so we decided to pay for the coffee and leave. Wasn't an issue we were just running out of time. The issue came when she yelled at my wife and said "I told you". Yes she told us it would be 20 minutes and food not even ordered after 30 minutes. On a side note all of the other workers were pleasant just not the girl with dark, straight hair. Bummed as we always like to support small businesses but this one definitely needs some work. Can't say how the food was because we never got to that part. Surprised this place has been able to keep 3 stars. read more

I'm trying to be fair here, but really, I did not have much of an experience to go on. I placed a called in pickup order, and I was slightly surprised when they did not take my name or phone number for the order. This proved to be a problem for when I arrived, I was told they did not have the item I had ordered after driving all the way to their location. If they had thought to ask for my phone number, they could have told me, and I would have been able to go somewhere else. I just waved goodbye and walked out. I found the exact same item I wanted at the Griddle restaurant, which was packed with happy holiday diners. Had a wonderful breakfast today at Addie's. I love the fact I can get a Ruben for breakfast. And it was so good. They use a combination of corned beef and turkey which made it unique and quite tasty. Their coffee is exactly perfect. As fir the service, Hayes was super great. I'd always wondered at this restaurant as I passed it on my way to a destination. During the summer it always seemed full and the customers were smiling as they enjoyed their meals outside on the patio. The vibe is why IMO. I hope to return soon. read more

Been wanting to try this place out for awhile now and I was craving waffles. Used to seeing the place with far more traffic but the day we visited it was easy to get into and half empty. We were able to get a seat right away for breakfast which was a surprise. My son and I ordered the waffles, and wife ordered the eggs and hashbrowns. About 10 minutes went by when my son and I were informed that the waffle maker was broken. No problem. I asked for the menus so we could order something else. Got those relatively quickly, but they didn't come back to take our order for another 10 minutes or so. We ordered different items when shortly after my wife received her dish, while ours wouldn't arrive until later; serving everyone at once is what I'm used to..... Kids working here appeared to be doing their best, but they need some proper leadership to help them along. Hopefully this was just a hiccup and they get these things worked out. read more

We landed here by accident, having found our original destination closed on Sundays, and our second stop was too long a wait. Driving towards home, we happened upon Addies and they looked busy, so we decided to give them a try. From the friendly greeting we received upon entering, it was a surprisingly excellent experience. Our young waiter was well mannered, well informed, and made us feel like we were the most important guests in the place. He answered our many questions patiently, and assured us we were making good choices. Of course, we had many specific requests, as we are quite picky when we eat out. No problem. Our food came exactly as ordered, and was delivered very quickly. Nice and hot, cooked to perfection, and the high light for me in addition to all that? No old, stale grease taste on the eggs or the hash browns. That's rare. If I didn't know better, I'd say the hash browns were grilled in butter, not restaurant grease like ususal. Overall, we were delighted. We will be back! They offer the normal assorment of burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast items, but well prepared and at very resonable prices. Clean, simple decor, no music (which I love) and friendly, prompt service. A win win for those who want food they can't cook better at home. read more

We really wanted to give this restaurant a try, having driven past it many times over the last several years. We met friends there this morning for breakfast. It was very clean and the service was good. There was some confusion regarding their hours as the sign out front says "Monday - Friday, Open to 10:00 am." However that apparently refers only to their breakfast special...although the way it is placed on the sign it makes you think they are referring to the restaurant hours. After reading quite a number of other reviews, I was a bit dubious but the other half wanted to try it. He ordered French toast but it was so cold the butter wouldn't even melt. I ordered a create your omelette with bacon, cheese, onion and avocado on top. When it arrived I couldn't find the avocado until I looked inside the omelette. Not big on cooked avocado, but I forged ahead. I had trouble cutting a bite sized portion with my fork and then realized there were HUGE chunks of onion that were not completely cooked...this was causing the problem with the fork. As I ate several bites I realized my "bacon" was that stuff you get out of a jar that is all crumbled into tiny bits. They must have used half a jar of this stuff and it tasted like sawdust. There was cheese, but very little of it. So I switched to the hash browns...which were a previously frozen slab at least an inch thick. They were barely cooked and again had no taste. Salt didn't even help. The picture below was taken when I stopped trying to eat this mess. When the waitress picked up my plate she never asked if everything was ok, even though clearly over half the omelette and hash browns were remaining on the plate. We paid over $12.50 for the omelette and I would expect for that price to get real bacon at least. Won't be going back. read more

Breakfast at Addie's yielded the worst meal I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I laughed when another reviewer said the cook didn't use any seasonings. That only happens on the restaurant rescue shows. Sadly, it was true here, too. Quick, someone call Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey before it's too late. In five and a half decades of living, I've never ordered chicken fried steak and have it come out as an oversized hamburger patty. But that's what Addie's serves. It took me a moment to figure out why it was black instead of golden brown. And neither it, nor the gravy that came with it, had been seasoned. I asked for a pancake instead of the eggs that normally come with that item. They were fine with the substitution but the pancake they brought would have fit onto a dessert plate just fine. The dinner plate just emphasized how tiny it was. I gave up two eggs for that? The server was underwhelming. She greeted me fine when I walked in and told me to seat myself, then proceeded to bring menus and take orders from a couple who came in after me before coming to me. Guess it's first in, last to order. Halfway through my meal, I told her that I hadn't received my toast. She gave me an "oh, oh," and rushed off to another table. Never did see that toast. Maybe it was better that way. She did come by later with a to-go box when she saw I hadn't finished the "chicken-fried steak." I said no. She didn't bother to ask if there was anything wrong with it. This was the original location of the Brick Oven Beanery, long a Boise institution. Too bad some of its luster didn't rub off on the owners of Addie's, now known as the worst breakfast joint in Boise. read more

Addie's is a great little downtown breakfast spot. Came here in the 11 o'clock hour on a Saturday and were seated immediately (nice!). I ordered their breakfast burrito (with sausage). I love a good breakfast burrito and this was good! It was ample and the sausage added a nice kick of flavor. Their house coffee is fine (diner quality--think Elf & the world's best cup of coffee from Zooey Deschanel's (Jovie's) perspective). The flavor doesn't move mountains, but it's palatable. The service was fast, friendly, and accommodating. And, the prices are quite reasonable. I think our breakfast for two came to less than 20 bucks (before tip). Get to it! read more

I really REALLY wanted to love this place. Brought my mom here while she was in town visiting about a month ago. I loved that it looked like we were having breakfast in an old friend's house, and my niece's name is Addie which is why we chose to check it out when we stumbled upon it. We were greeted by a server whose first words were "Are you guys ready?" I did appreciate that the menu is pretty big and there were a lot of options. I had the French toast was decent, nothing special. My mom had sausage and eggs and her eggs were ice cold. As in, not an exaggeration - they were so cold we wondered if they were in a refrigerator at some point. It was bizarre. I gave it 3 stars for the ambiance because I really love the laid- back atmosphere but I probably won't give it another shot because the food was nothing special. read more
