Visited Twist for an Eti breakfast. The restaurant is cozy with oversized windows that brighten it up. We ordered scrambled eggs with onions and peppers. Many places don't get this dish right but Twist's version was excellent! Eggs cooked just right with sautéed onions/peppers. We also ordered Ful. First time trying this dish & it was pretty good. We finished the meal with Macchiatos which were excellent. Bold/strong coffee. Our server was amazing! We were there early on a Friday right when they opened so it was quiet. Overall, exceptional breakfast and coffee!

First time here. Really cool vibe. The coffee was very smooth. Different flavor than the other mochas I've had but still good! The service was very friendly. The prices here are very reasonable. Great value.

Love it to change it up for a coffee spot! Its Ethiopian coffee and definitely has a unique twist and old school vibe! Pretty good mochas 7/10, and staff was so sweet !!

What I love about the DMV area are the international specialty eateries such as Twist. But at times the lack of best business practices negates the Anthony Bordain rush. I'm giving them a low rating because they couldn't offer their signature drink "Espris" during our visit. My group of diaspora Ethiopians came specifically for their reputed "Espris", a delightful melody of fruit presented in clear glass, iconic to Addis Abeba (Capital of Ethiopia). We arrived on a Sunday at about 5pm and were told that due to demand they could only make the mix smoothie and not the "Espris". I was bewildered since there were empty tables around us. I ended up taking a sip of a friend's knock-off Espris. Parking: free Again, Love Immigrants (Ethiopian community) for introducing delicious treats to the States. Just stay consistent, pls.

This unassuming little Ethiopian Cafe is located on seminary road in falls church. We pulled into the private parking lot and entered to the mutes sounds of Ethiopian music. The fact that the place had a large Ethiopian clientele was a great sign - it meant the place was authentic and had good food. The fridge gleamed of bottles of soda - a welcome sight to see original sugar sodas and not the aspartame canned stuff. Ethiopians are known for many great things including a rich culture of coffee - and this place lived up to that wonderful impression. Both the cappuccino and the macchiato were top notch! The service was cheerful and comfortable - I'm definitely going back!

Very Delicious combination plate with a jerky style meat and a tuna meal and cous cous with perfect flavors and consistency. This meal included a nice portion of moist injera bread for dipping and wrapping. The meal was spicy and flavorful and needed no extra hot sauce as it was both filling and satisfying. Hanna was our server and is a warm person that immediately makes you comfortable in the restaurant. Great service and nice smiles. On top of the meal was a blended drink that was delicious. Topped with a strawberry purée, layered down to the mango purée and finally layered to the blended avocado purée which was a nice surprise. This place is unassuming with delicious food, great shakes, excellent service AND excellent Ethiopian coffee. Defiantly recommended.

Unassuming but very good place to get Ethiopian good in Falls Church, Virginia. Many choices for vegetarians on the menu - Sambusa, Veggie Burger, Yetmatim Fitfit (served with room temperature pieces of enjera mixed with onions, tomatoes and jalapeno), and Ful (beans with seasoned butter or olive oil). And for dessert - a Tiramisu Slice and a Chocolate Cake Slice.

Twist Cafe & Deli is located off of Seminary, offering breakfast, brunch, and Ethiopian dishes and plates. I was pretty excited in checking this place out, as it seemed like a little gem located in the Baileys Crossroads area! The hubs and I came here for a weekend brunch, and we ordered: the Twist Breakfast Combo (this came with scrambled eggs that had some diced tomatoes and bell peppers (fluffy, seasoned well, and pretty tasty), some spiced-up/seasoned injera bread chunks (this was just okay), and some plain couscous (could have had some more butter in, but it was simple), with a side of sliced loaf of bread (fluffy and not toasted, there was also no butter offered with it); you can also upgrade your injera mixture by adding meat to it, so I requested the dry beef tibs - I do like my meat extra well-done, but these beef chunks had an off game-y taste to them, was way too super jerky-like, and even way more difficult to chew), and the hubs ordered an omelette (with spinach, cheese, and chicken, which came with a sliced loaf of bread with 2 packets of butter; the omelette itself was okay - there wasn't enough cheese, and the diced chicken was a bit too dried out). The issue we had was that both of our orders were inaccurate when they were first brought out - my dish had the meat missing, and when they brought my unfinished dish back to fix, the jerky was just mixed within the injera and sent back out - the other parts of the dishes were not replaced, so the couscous and the scrambled eggs were super cold T____T My hubs' omelette was supposed to have chicken, but instead, there was gyro meat; again, when this dish was taken back to fix, the filling was just scooped out of the egg and then refilled with the chicken mixture; the egg itself was cold compared to the warm filling, and the sliced bread that was slightly toasted, also became cold. We each waited an additional 30+ minutes for our dishes to be corrected, so we were both not too happy. In the meantime, I did try a sambusa - it was filled with spicy lentil and it was actually pretty tasty; however, it was in a plastic bin by the cashier, pre-fried, so it was not warm and the exterior shell was little chewier. It would have been great if these were fried-to-order and came out fresh! Service was friendly, but inefficient - with the lack of attention to details and the lack of quality control of the meals, it really makes me rethink of giving them another try to go through all that hassle! I'm glad I was able to finally try Twist Cafe a try, but not sure if I'd go back. +great sambusas (but already pre-frie d and not fried to order) +inaccurate orders T____T +replacement time is about 30+ additional minutes per dish T____T +inefficient service T____T +lack of quality control T____T +tough dry 'tibs' (way too jerky-like and has game-y flavor)

This place is nice, clean and spacious. If my memory serves me right, they offer breakfast, sandwiches/salads. They have some cakes/pastries but couldn't remember what kind, but regardless am pretty sure they are all good. We had the cafe latte and we liked it very much, probably one of the best we had and I am not much of a coffee drinker. We also had the biscotti and a slice of tiramisu cake. Biscotti was just plain, nothing special. The tiramisu was good, (didn't have that much coffee flavour, this could be good/bad depending on individual preferences, in my case its good)kind of light, not too sweet and not heavy compared to other tiramisu's I've had(from skyline/dama etc). The service was good and overall happy with this place. Will come back for sure to try the other stuff. If you're in the area and love coffee, do give this place a try.

Located just off the bustle of King St., Brut sits unassumingly among the Old Town townhomes. You could easily walk past, and not notice it at all. But, if you've dialed in Brut as your destination, be prepared to step in to an oenophile's wet dream. The establishment is both a bottle shop and a wine bar. Every bottle in the joint is carefully curated. There is no junk...no fluff...no quid to subsidize quo...all excellence, from any country or region your heart may desire. Do your Christmas shopping here, for sure. That shopping is going to make you thirsty, so pony up to the small but well appointed bar. Its no easy thing to find a bar with a good "wine by the glass" list, but Brut manages that task with ease. From your sauvignon blancs, through the pinots, to full bodied reds...take a flight of fancy, and walk home well fortified. Since the bar is small, and seats are at a premium, the owner Dustin does a masterful job of weeding out the Riff-raff. Trust me when I say that watching it is far better than TV. I cannot recommend this cool little spot more highly. Maybe I'll see ya there sometime!

It's a little pricey relative to places like Verre wine bar in Courthouse or area Vineyards. I noticed they had the Valravn cab sauv and it was A $20 glass but I have seen it for several dollars less at Verre and elsewhere. However, these were really large pours. So it may be their philosophy to have someone order/pay once and get a lot then having to constantly go back for more. Which is great if you value simplicity but less so if you want variety. I also didn't see flight options, though maybe I missed them. All in all it came out to $83 for 2 glasses of red wine and a cheese plate with 5 cheeses. However they brought bread refills - not sure if it's just that the plate was priced for unlimited bread or if we were being charged for more bread each time and that is what increased the price. Service was a little lax. Again not a bad thing, depends on your preference. When we got their attention they were on it. It resulted in being completely unrushed and unpressured which I appreciate. But my friend was starving and under those conditions we would have liked someone to come take our food order sooner. Vibe is chill. I wouldn't say it's as sexy as others do. When we arrived the lights were fairly bright and then they turned them down and started putting out candles while we were there so that may have been it. That was around 7 or 8 if you are gaming this out for a date. We were the 6pm crowd so maybe they were intentionally going for a less sexy vibe for the benefit of the after work drinks with friends types. I don't recall music. Note also they seem to really focus on imported wines more so than local. I don't thibk there was any local VA wine on the menu. All in all, if you need a wine place in the area then it is totally worth stopping by, especially if you like the specific approach described above. Is it a wine bar I would go out of my way for given that there are a bunch in different neighborhoods around DC? Probably not unless I was specifically looking for this kind of imported wine menu or large pours. This is a no if you are specifically looking for flights or to otherwise try a bunch of different wines.

Both times we've gone, it was during their happy hour, which runs until 7 pm, and we stuck to the special menu. Those have included their Charcuterie Board (something that contributed to Dr. Oz not being a senator), crispy Brussels sprouts, their Margarita flatbread, chicken skewers, and truffle fries. Don't hate us; that was spread over two visits. Everything tasted great, though next time I think we'll graduate to the real menu. The wines we've tried so far were either inexpensive or not bad. For inexpensive, I've had glasses of their $3 Tempranillo. While it wasn't great, I've paid a lot re for much worse. For "not bad", my wife had the $10 Buehler Cab. After it opened up for a bit it was quite drinkable.
