Here I was wondering where I could go for brunch before grocery shopping at Trader Joe's for the week. It has been said that you should never go grocery shopping while hungry. Well, I found a precious Mediterranean gem called Valletta Port and I'm in love... or maybe that's what being full of delicious food feels like.the calamari was perfectly seasoned and the cauliflower over hummus leave you feeling content.

The best lentil soup I've ever had!!! Great service, pan seared salmon dish and iced tea were also delicious. Will be going back to try more dishes.

My husband, our two kids, and I recently visited Valletta Port and had such a great time. I loved that they have a kids' menu -- it really makes eating out with little ones so much easier. The food was super tasty, and the desserts were amazing! We had the baklava, and honestly, it was delicious -- sweet and just the right amount of flaky. The staff was young, friendly, and really welcoming, which made the whole place feel cozy and comfortable. The prices are very fair too, especially for how good everything was. We'll definitely be coming back. Valletta Port is a great spot for family dinners or a relaxed night out with loved ones!

Ezogelin Soup!!!! Off the charts delicious!

What an amazing surprise. Wrapping up a meeting in Old Town Alexandria, I was craving Pho. So was headed to the Pho restaurant on St. Asaph right next to Trader Joe's; been meaning to try that place for a while. All I saw was Valletta Port, so went inside and learned the old Saigon Sunday place moved, and last Fall, Valletta Port moved in. So, I sat down and ordered their Ezogelin Soup! GAME CHANGER!! Ordered another one, right away, and cleaned the bowl on that one too. Such incredible ingredients, quality taste and the servers were all A+. Now I'll be returning for everything else on the menu!! Great big bar with comfy chairs, light swing jazz piping through the restaurant. Didn't want to leave.

Let me start by saying that the original menu here was exceptional! The Mediterranean food was,as they say, to die for! We were super excited to come back here and get their delicious dip spread and shawarma because honestly they're the best around. When we went today, they told us that they had done a 180 and completely switched their menu to an entirely different food group...Italian. First and foremost , what?!?!? That's not a seasonal change that's a whole different cuisine. Glass half full, I happen to love Italian food. Let me say that the staff was spectacular and very kind. The food, however, was very mid....mid. Honestly, it felt like cafeteria Italian food. It really wasn't good at all and it's such a shame, knowing that there were chefs in the back that could've whipped up one mean Shawarma if we asked them to. Apparently this change was enacted because the community was hounding them about changing to Italian, as if there isn't Italian already in old town? Well, I hope those people who are complaining are happy because this is an absolute travesty of what was once a great Mediterranean restaurant. Let me know when we go back to Shawarmas and hummus and I will return. Until that time I'm not paying these outrageous prices ($30 pies, etc.) for average at best Italian food. The ownership and wait staff were great and I hate to leave this review . Don't bend to others request Valetta Port, be you and serve that delicious Mediterranean food we all know and love!!!

    Dip plate.

Octopus was perfect, dip plate was amazing with complex flavors. pita was warm and fresh. Branzino was cooked to perfection. You must eat here.

Nice food, some of the menu items were not available. Please note- this is not a Maltese food, more Turkish/Greek.

The kind where one cookie can easily be shared (or not lol ). They're rich and sweet, so if you're someone who loves a heavy dessert that feels like a treat-treat, you'll be in heaven. Easily a 10/10 for that category. What really stood out to me was the variety of flavors. I tried the strawberry matcha cookie and was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. It had a really nice balance of flavors and didn't feel gimmicky at all. It's always a risk trying something a little different, but this one definitely paid off. Another thing I appreciated was that they had a section of cookies discounted because they were made the night before. I love when places do this...it's a great way to try more flavors without spending a lot, and honestly, the cookies were still really good. Service-wise, the cashier was super helpful and patient, especially when it came to explaining flavors and giving recommendations. That always makes a difference when you're staring at a case full of options and can't decide.

Either way I just found Lily's Chocolate & Coffee while venturing up and down King Street, and well with the help of Yelp because this was a plan to visit later in October. But, I decided my kiddos needed a treat. Located on a corner you walk into hues of pink, florals and the smell of chocolate and coffee. I became immediately distracted by the toppings and melted chocolate. But, when I snapped out of it, I was able to place my order. I opted for the Dubai chocolate inspiration over strawberries. If I remember correctly it was around $20 five or take. The cafe is so cute. It is small and if crowded be prepared to navigate that. There is bathrooms inside but, I do not know if it is for customers or not, as they were locked when we were there. The staff were just starting for the day. But they were helpful, kind and ready to roll. Once we received our order we sat down and dug right in. The strawberries were fresh, large and draped over in chocolate, pistachio cream and katifia. This is not my first time having Dubai chocolate or Dubai inspired chocolate. I thoroughly enjoy it over strawberries. There is just something about chocolate ad strawberries. Overall a wonderful place. I highly recommend visiting

After taking a look at the candy, gelato and desserts, we settled on key lime pie. The key lime pie was pretty good, though it was perhaps a little too sweet and the filling rather dry. Because we were first time customers, the shopkeeper offered us each a piece of complimentary candy. The candy had a shell filled with a confection containing Japanese citrus yuzu fruit. The shell was coated with dark chocolate. I'm just going to say this was the tastiest, most delightful candy I've ever sampled. Dolce & Bean also sells attractively designed packages of candies. These would make good gifts. We absolutely will be back for more candy and want to try the gelato. One minor thing is that the shop was chilly and I had to put my hoodie on. But heck, aren't most restaurants and stores around the DMV freezing cold in the summer?
