Have too start by saying this diner was so good I had too go a second time. I had 2 eggs over easy with home fries and bacon and toast. The eggs both days were absolutely made dead on perfect. Addi's is also famous for its $4.25 humungous pancake. Although I did not partake in one I was tempted. The pancake is about 3/8" think and aprox 1 1/2 feet across. As a student at the University of Oregon, we came here every weekend for Addi and her breakfast. She was always ready for us with huge cups of water and occasionally would have us play games for a free meal. I just moved to Springfield 5 weeks ago and we have been to Addi's at least seven times so far. The first visit I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs with home fries. I have never tasted a better Chicken Fried Steak in my entire life!! It was killer! I liked the skins better than the home fries (someone else ordered). REALLY standard diner fare, which was disappointing since I convinced my husband to come here to grab breakfast instead of the hotel stuff. I had often heard about Addi's Diner as one of the best breakfast spots in the greater Eugene area, but found it to be pretty average overall. I went on Easter morning and was pleasantly surprised to find there was no wait at this small diner. It's a cozy 50's style diner with a lot of unique decor. The service was a little disappointing as the visits from the server were infrequent, and the young man helping us seemed like he would rather be elsewhere. I ordered a cup of coffee, which had to be brewed because they had run out, and it was average at best. One of the big draws of Addi's is the massive pancake breakfasts, but that seemed a little too intimidating to eat so I went simple and order a ham scramble with toast and hash browns. I honestly couldn't tell you that this was much different in taste than any traditional breakfast chain like IHOP or Denny's. Addi's is a fun little place to visit, and maybe on my next visit I'll opt to bring a friend and try the pancake breakfast. read more

Addi's looks like it was ripped off a movie set for Chevy Chase's Vacation as it is full of vintage road trip and food memorabilia. They also have a collection of burned baseball caps on the wall, more on that later. Addi herself works alongside a few hostesses who are constantly circulating asking if you need anything. I ordered scrambled eggs with home fried potatoes and whole wheat toast. One friend ordered the breakfast burrito and my other friend ordered their infamous pancake; which believe it, its BIG. The food is nothing exceptional, but its quality. For anyone on vacation who wants to skip the chains, you'll receive what you are looking for at Addi's. My friend tried his best to finish the entire pancake, but had to tap out after eating about 75%. Addi provides free entertainment and we traded wits as we learned she is a die hard Atlanta Braves fan, and all the burned hats on the ceiling were in fact, Yankee hats. This would have been good information as I entered wearing a Yankee hat. All in all we had a pleasant experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal. This diner is a gem! The food is cooked perfectly, great portions. We had the the bacon and eggs with biscuit. I'm a biscuit nut and I LOVED the biscuit! It was served warm, fluffy and rich. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The interior is a full of fun 1950s memorabilia. I highly recommend this place! First time visiting Eugene and Decided Addi's would be our first stop. Waited a good 45 minutes in the rain and all I could think about was warming up with a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. For a breakfast spot I would have expected decent coffee. Their coffee was incredibly bland and weak. The biscuits and gravy were delicious the biscuits were pretty light and the gravy thick and creamy and well seasoned. The hotcake was enormous and light, fluffy and buttery. They serve the syrup steaming hot in a glass jar on the side, a nice touch! The breakfast burrito was fine, the ingredients fresh. The staff was super attentive, the buser constantly filling our water and coffee and keeping our table dirty plate and trash free. The atmosphere overall is cute, divey diner. However, it is also dirty. The place could use an overall wipe down. I found the vinyl tablecloths questionably clean and slightly sticky. There also seemed to be a grime on the window sills. The sugar dispenser was a mason jar, super cute, but again with a questionable grime on the rim. I was just hoping none of it went in my coffee. Overall, the place is small and can feel cramped. We were told 40-50 minutes till table was ready, gave them our phone number and they said would call us. Perfect, ran to pick up a few groceries while we waited. They called us in 15 min. Since we weren't able to check out of store and get right back they agreed we could get a table in 20 min. We were back to the restaurant in 15 minutes. At that time they sai since we gave up our table on the first call it would be a another 20-25 minutes. Saturday, 8:50 am. I called to see if I could get a table and a chicken fried steak in 20 minutes because I had an appointment at 10, and they said yes. I ended up a little late because I had to find a spot across the street at Spring Garden. There was a ton of larger parties waiting that I bypassed, so calling ahead was a good move. They had my table waiting and said the food would be right down. About 60 seconds later, everything was hot and exactly how I wanted it. If I have a complaint, it's that the chicken fried steak was a little small and the seasoning was strange, but that's part of the charm with chicken fried steak, you never know how the seasoning will be. Also, it only cost $10 and wasn't as tough as shoe leather. Halfway through they asked how everything was and I just gave a thumbs up. I can't give less than 5 stars given the level of service and quality for the price. I'd give 5 even if it cost a few dollars more. read more
