    Chicken cutlet ramen

Came here for an anniversary dinner on a Thursday night and had a great time! I wish more people were in the restaurant, when we arrived around 6:45, we were the only people! While it's maybe early for dinner, and a Thursday, only one other couple came during the time we were there. I'd hate to see this place go out of business. The service was great! Our server was very kind and friendly. I loved the salad - so fresh tasting and the dried blueberries were a fun texture for an otherwise crunchy appetizer. We had the ramen and the New York strip which were both great in flavor and well prepared. My only complaints were that the wine glass was not practical- filled to the brim and kept spilling... and that I wish the steak had a bit more char on the outside. The inside was a nicely cooked medium though.

We love George and Violets. They have made some changes in the the last year that have really benefited them. The ambiance is fantastic. Date night, dimmed room, elegant. Not stuffy though. Their taste is impeccable for decor. The front booths are a little tight for a large person, but in the back no issues. Their service is always on point. We have managed to call for a tables last minute multiple times and get sat within a reasonable window. The food!!! We were sad when they changed from a steakhouse to a fusion restaurant. But their menu has evolved into this beautiful, quality, flavor packed, and versatile options menu...that includes a couple steaks! This is our go to when we want a steak for sure! Anything you order will be tasty! The price is worthy, but it is steep. With cocktails or wine, expect $60-90/person.

George and Violets is quaint and small. The steak is cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were light and airy. Don't skip the Parker rolls they are house-made and incredible. Our server was so helpful and gave great recommendations.

Food was amazing and came out in a reasonable time. Service was great! Cocktail menu looked very interesting. Tried the alcohol free mojito which was delicious.

40 day dry aged grass fed steak with spicy marrow spread and hazelnut miso butter

Food and service were excellent here. Waiter was so attentive with the water and even in bringing the dessert when I had just finished my steak. I had the 40 day dry aged grass fed ribeye with a side of hazelnut miso butter and spicy bone marrow spread. I actually loved the spicy bone marrow spread better than the hazelnut miso butter. The spiciness was very mild like Jack in the box mild. I really liked the spreadable beef fat with focaccia bread as well. Had to order more focaccia to use up the bone marrow spread and hazelnut miso butter. The bone marrow complemented the beef better. The hostess told me the beef is locally grown about 20 miles away and is grass fed and grain finished. The hostess is also the dessert maker and offered to answer any questions about the dessert if I wanted to geek out about it. The presentation of the dessert was beautiful. It consisted of blackberry sorbet, hazelnut toffee pieces which I was informed is a modified version of what the French Laundry and Bouchon uses, bavarois which is milk folded with whipped cream and set with gelatin with dehydrated hibiscus pieces and speculoos. Sorbet was topped with a white chocolate blackberry flavored flower piece with gold leaf accent. Will definitely be back.

Hi Yelp, does G&V have happy hour? Any details appreciated TIA!

So is this still a steak house or just a ramen place now? Considering for UO graduation meal. Thanks

Neither -- Google George & Violet's menu, it has quite a few choices.

I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

All of the staff are amazing and I've never had a bad experience with customer service. Many staff are high school students. My son worked there and absolutely loved working for Addi. I have yet to have a dish that didn't taste good. Fresh and made to order. Very flavorful food. The pancake is huge as well as the cinnamon roll. 4 people could eat it and each would have a belly full. The vibe is cute inside and very cozy. I love to sit and look at the decor. Addi herself waited on us and was super personable and sweet. I heard her across the cafe ask after a customer's new baby -- he hadn't been in for a year, she just remembered. A homeless guy came in and she listened to his rambling story attentively, then got him some food and sent him on his way. She's a gem. The food was pretty typical greasy spoon breakfast, which is exactly what I wanted. Solid meal and much appreciated at that hour. I think I heard then say they opened at 4am. Delightful little life saver of a spot.

When we asked questions about the menu, the server seemed inconvenienced by even basic inquiries, which set an uncomfortable tone from the start. The $14 smash burgers were the biggest letdown. They were so overcooked and thin that the patties had a Swiss‑cheese‑like appearance, with holes throughout and barely any actual meat -- nearly see‑through. Even my husband, who prefers his burgers well‑done, couldn't enjoy them. Had we not had a 2.5‑hour drive ahead, we would have asked for them to be remade or requested a refund. The fries were fine but nothing special; basic frozen shoestring fries. Surprisingly, the best‑tasting item was our son's small shake, which was $8. For that price, I expected a larger portion. I did notice that the to‑go shakes come in bigger cups, so if anyone orders one, I'd recommend getting it to go to actually receive the amount you're paying for. The ambiance initially seemed nice, but the service overshadowed it. Even after tipping before receiving our food, there was no acknowledgment or appreciation, and the interaction felt curt and disengaged. Based on this visit, I wouldn't be able to recommend the restaurant.

The fish and chips was sad, the pieces they gave were tiny very dense and breaded almost like a chicken strip and they looked like half of a tilapia fillet, definitely not what I expected from the GIANT picture on their reader board. Dairy Queen's chicken fingers are bigger than these pieces of fish. The tartar sauce is prepackaced and super processed and very chemical tasting. The saddest part is what they call their coleslaw, I get it, its a burger joint but dang the coleslaw is literally cabbage and no sauce, no flavor, there seems to be very little QC or manager checking food and taste on some stuff here at this location. The service at the window is always friendly and prompt once you get up there but the wait is usually pretty bad. I know you guys are local and I know you guys can do better. Whoever is managing this location you need to step up the QC on things like the slaw, make your own tartar sauce, and just step it up. I expect so much more from a local place like this, but as it is your just a bit below what I'd expect from a Burger King or McDonalds.
