Came here for breakfast with my family on Friday. Very friendly and helpful staff. Place is decorated cute with old time signs. We got there at 830am in Friday with the place fairly empty and by 9 the place was packed. I ordered bacon and eggs. My husband had the peanut butter stuffed French toast. Our son had the chocolate chip pancake. Our server was very kind to our son and made sure his hot chocolate was at a drinkable temperature and was piled high with whipped cream and sprinkles. Overpriced and gouging the customers! One of the worst meals and dives I've ever ate at! I think they made special large plates for there website photos! Sweet old-timey spot with the best service! Reuben Sandwich - corned beef hash style corned beef with swiss on rye. The thousand island was barely perceptible and the corned beef was slightly dry. I like a toasted/grilled sandwich, but flavors were good. And 5 stars on the sweet potato fries! Overall 3.5 stars. Stuffed French Toast - giant pieces of French bread with a light batter dip with a slathering of tasty raspberry jam and cream cheese inside. This was more like a grilled sandwich than French toast since the bread slices were huge but the kiddo loved it. Bacon was nicely done. 3 stars. We weren't super stoked on the French toast and our server went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal and would come back. Nothing I hate more than ordering coffee $3-$5 and getting "0" Refills. *Coffee was weak and watery *It almost 20 minutes before food arrived and finally got a refill (water/coffee). *Stuffed french toast was disappointing. Small vs Yelp photos by others and Minimal filling. If it didn't contrast with cream cheese and bread you'd never known it was an ingredient! *Currently eating Reuben..You can see from pics there's not much to eat. The side of thousand island I requested saved it. I got sweet potatoes (bad decision on my part) which didn't pair well AT ALL. Upon entering the establishment it felt dirty. The entrance looks into the kitchen that was playing loud music and looked like it could use a deep cleaning. The waitress walked around the corner and showed two of us to our table. Dining room ambiance was pleasant unlike entrance. I will say that they have definitely hired the nicest and most friendly staff to wait on customers. My husband ordered the corned beef hash and it was amazing. Gonna keep it short, as many have expressed this in the earlier reviews. The wait is horrendous. Took an hour to get the food served. It was a Sunday 1:30 PM there weren't that many people however the kitchen is horribly slow. It is sad that the waiting staff has to dance around to make up for slowness of the kitchen. We got the 2 2 2 special (2 pieces of fat French toast, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon or sausage for $15) and the chicken fried steak breakfast with biscuit. I had the special and the eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. The French toast was unique and I appreciate the innovation (see picture of how they used a thick French bread hence the "fat" title of the toast) but I think I prefer traditional width French toast as I found the crust a bit tough and there's not enough of the delicious eggy exterior which is the most desirable attribute of most French toasts. My partner got the chicken fried steak which was reportedly crispy and good and the biscuit was a bit crumbly and it was suggested it could be improved by being held together a bit more. Although it was very busy on a Friday morning (clearly a local hot spot) with a couple of servers working very hard they were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. It's a cute, sort of retro gas station vibe cafe. The floor was a bit greasy and could do with a deep cleaning. Overall I'd recommend this place for a classic simple breakfast. read more

The wait wasn't too bad at 9:30am for us as a bigger group of 7. Be sure to check out the cool retro decor. I & my spouse shared a veggie omelette which was very good and a pastrami skillet special. I went here a few months back or even a year back. I did eat corned beef hash and I don't honestly remember details about it but it was good. But what sticks out to me months later is that I remember how great the service was here. The waitress that we had was great and so very personable and all of the staff was chatty with each other. I'm very sorry to have to leave this review. I've been to The Pump many times although admittedly not for a while. I always thought it was a cute spot with great food. They were not busy but it took over a half hour to get our food after quite a wait to take our order. The food was a disappointment. My husband said his bigger was awful, dry and tasteless. My grandson ordered fruit as a side and they forgot it. Then I made the mistake of going to the restroom and honestly had I gone in first I would have walked out. Disgusting. I get that on Mother's Day, restaurants get slammed for breakfast. But we were on a waiting list today and after 30+ minutes they basically told us they were refusing service to us. They took a party of 6, with no problem. Down the list, we were a party of 7 and we even told them we could be split up into groups of 3 and 4 people. Nope, we're not going to serve you. I'm not going to put a super low, one star rating on here. But I think management needs to know that one of their employees had a melt down and treated us very poorly. She wasn't what I'm going to say one of your regular servers, but we've seen her in this establishment before showing customers a dessert tray. And this restaurant needs to plan ahead for special occasions like this, it's not like we all don't know that Mother's Day is coming up. Do better, please! After being talked into going to this restaurant at a second time by family members to give it another chance. I guarantee that this organization will never pull another red cent out of my pocket. Once again, no one upfront to greet or to find out how many people in the party, once again people just cramming around the door nobody knows what's going on. Finally, some random lady walks in and tells him to take the note out from underneath the counter and start putting peoples names on it . I'm guessing a regular. We finally are seated after a wait of about 12 minutes, not too horrible. But then after we were seated, it only took 34 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Not to mention that was the only cup. No refills through the entire meal. putting aside everything because at this point, I just don't care what happens. I'm ready just to leave and only tolerating the experience for the rest of the family. Take a moment to look around the place. The tables are sticky, and look upward at the ceiling to note all of the grease and dust buildup stuck on just about everything . I used to go to the pump cafeh regularly and thought the food and the service was pretty good. In the past few years the quality of both have gone down considerably. The restaurant itself is in dire need of a facelift, the tables and menus are sticky, the floors are covered with spills and bathrooms are worn and unfinished.The service is variable and there is just a sense of a general lack of care. We came here as a party of 7 about 11am on a Monday before Christmas. It was about half full and we were seated right away. We have been here before and always enjoyed it although it has changed hands over the years. The business is in a renovated gas station, hence the name. The theme of the place is like antique and classic automotive. Menus and water were brought to our table and our drink orders taken. It does not appear the menu has changed much since the last time we were here. Both my wife and I decided to get the breakfast burrito which we had before and really enjoyed. We remembered it being deliciously smothered in their tasty green sauce. When our drinks arrived our orders were taken and four in our group chose the breakfast burrito. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and everything looked delicious. The breakfast burrito was just as I remembered, delicious. My wife thought the green salsa on top could have been a warmer temperature. Everyone in our group was satisfied and we had a very good experience. Was visiting Oregon a few weeks ago and stopped in here for breakfast. This was a gem of a find. It's decorated very eclectic. So cute inside! Everything was spaced out for covid measures. I split a veggie omelette with my mom. It was definitely enough for two people. And I had a hot chocolate since it was so cold out. They use Godiva chocolate so it's creamy and rich.
