And they basically blow dried my hair like I could at home. Yet, it looks worse than when I do it at home. I'll begin saying that both the owner, Maggie, and Victoria, the actual hairdresser who did my hair are loving people. The review is about the service. They do not know how to do the Oxo organic keratin treatment. I doubt they had done it before. I did not get to have the final step of the keratin process because they did not have the OXO sealing mask. They said the company did not include it in the kit they bought. I got a refund for $50 (the actual cost of the mask at the vendor) which is not enough to cover the deficient service I paid for ($650 treatment plus 20% tip = 780 dollars + $20 parking!). My treatment won't last because they were unable to seal the keratin with the OXO mask. Please find someone who does this treatment in a regular basis and has more experience working with OXO products. SECOND REVIEW AFTER OWNER REPLY: The response from Maggie (the salon owner) is absolutely untrue. I am disappointed that she decided to blame Victoria instead of accepting responsibility for not knowing how the OXO organic keratin works. There was no professional judgement about withholding the finishing mask. There was not even an offer to apply an alternative mask. They just did not know that there was an OXO sealing mask at the end. Unbelievable that you would charge $650 for a treatment and you don't know how the process works. I came with the intention of doing color at the end, but taking into account that there was no OXO finishing mask and that Victoria had let the treatment in my hair for 90 minutes and not 60 minutes as I had it before--my scalp was burning, red, and painful-- I decided to leave and finish the treatment at home and do my color when my scalp healed. There was NO " professional judgment to adjust the finishing process rather than use the standard mask at that time" from Victoria or anyone at the salon. There was only ignorance about the existence of such mask and all the steps of the process. Maggie had to order the mask after I complained because she did not know that such mask existed.. The salon service in this regards is misleading. In fact, I have opened a complaint with OXO corporation because this booth salon (Republic salon chain) is listed in the number of hair places that offer this service. Sorry to go into all this detail but the deception of the owner's reply to my initial review confirms that she continues misleading customers. Hence, the need for this long review.
