It's actually not too surprising this place only has one another review...It's very un-assuming in a pretty quiet neighborhood that doesn't seem to have much going on later at night. After deciding that Mission was just not the place we were meant to be on a Saturday night, we decided to head over to the AP and see what might be happening behind all the neon lights beckoning to us from across the street. It seemed like a place where mostly mid-twentyish locals were taking their Saturday night to work on their pool and dart skills and chill with their friends. The drinks were decent and the crowd was pretty mellow. It's not a large place, but it was quiet enough and I THINK they have a juke-box.... I'm going to assume they had stopped serving food by 11:30PM, as there were no menus out, and they weren't offered to us. Since I'm currently trying to wean myself from the hipster joints on the Hill (as abruptly as possible), I'll go back bring my darts and some cool homies to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. read more

Disclaimer: Had I known about the Mac N' Cheese before I came here, I would have ordered it but I didn't. I'm comin' back just for a taste test! So, I came here with an old high school friend and it was enjoyable. The drinks were good, seemed like it was the local watering hole and the people (bartenders and patrons alike), were friendly. It was a little uncomfortable when they started putting up the chairs around me as if to say, "we are closing...". [Insert Semi Sonics-"Closing Time" lyrics here]. The other night I came here again and thought, this ain't bad! It really does feel like a bar. You don't get that trying to be something it's not sort of vibe. There is no identity crisis either. It seems traditional, as much to where if you were to describe what a bar is to someone you would then hold up a picture of the Admiral Pub and they would suddenly be all knowing. The layout was pretty cool. Stairs when you walk in taking you to a lower platform. It didn't seem too sectioned off though. You've got booths and bar stools in sectional places but it still feels like every one is hanging out, not like each person has their piece of the bar and are sticking to it. There's trivia here? It was a groupon that my friend's girlfriend impulsively bought that brought us to west Seattle on a Friday night. It was the first Friday in January of 2012, 2 out of 3 of us were still in our little "sober new years" bout (which in fact ended the next day for me). So my less then amazing review may of been triggered by the fact that we were at a pub and not drinking. The place was cool! Lots of pool tables, photo hunt, big buck hunt and other games. The bar tender was both attentive and friendly. He even went to the pubs office downstairs to print my friend's groupon so we could use it. I can't really comment on the drinks because I didn't have any. My friend ordered a dark and stormy and said it was good. The food was very, very bad. I don't want to say disgusting because that sound so harsh. . . but it was bad!! I was excited about the happy hour appetizer menu. It was a Friday night (it think around 10pm) and they were offering extremely good prices on their appetizers. The menu seemed creative too. There were nachos made out of potato chips, this idea excited me. We got the cheesey garlic bread, which reminded me of something I used to prepare in the wee hours of the night in my college dorm after an evening of drinking natural ice beer. It was okay. We also ordered the potato chip nachos that I was excited about as well as popcorn chicken. I'm not going to go into much detail about the two later mentioned items . . .all I'm going to say is that the chicken was uncooked (yes, pink and fleshy) and there was a hair in the nachos. I don't know if it was because of this experience or because I'm an alcoholic, but the next day my 6 days of 2012 sobriety ended. Like I said before, the pub itself was cool. Lots of games and sitting space. The bar tender was exceptional. And I'm sure my experience was an anomaly (perhaps I was hallucinating after 6 days of not drinking) I would probably go back, just to play photo hunt. read more

the Food was very good the bartender helped me nicely to figure my order while it was slow but once it got busy the two guys tending bar got overwhelmed I stood at the bar for several minutes and kept getting ignored they took order from everyone around me to messing with the PoS machine for several minutes until I left the bar area to go back to my seat 3 times this happened I just can't believe I gave them a fourth time finally I was able to order a drink I'm disabled and I can't just stand around if I'm just gonna be ignored my 5th time to the bar was a bit better too but I was there to close out my bill and while purchasing one last beverage a 7-up. there was also a water station and nobody could be bothered to keep it filled also... I Don't see myself returning there again anytime soon unless my friends have another event... this all happened on 3/1/19 read more

My first visit to the Admiral Pub was a blast! I went with a friend to the Saturday night poker tournament, with the intent to drink a few beers and learn how to play Texas Hold 'Em. Success! It's free and fun, and I'm definitely going back for the Tuesday night poker tourney. The community of players (and drinkers) there is awesome. I didn't feel like a jerk for showing up with my "cheat" card of winning hands. I didn't feel like a jerk when I checked instead of calling. And I didn't feel like a jerk when I was out of the game and needed to sit on the sidelines with my nachos. The servers are efficient and awesome, the online jukebox is pretty bomb (although a little pricey), and they have pool tables and Big Buck Hunter!!! Perfect. And if you're craving a burger, I recommend the Admiral Burger, with cheese and bacon and a side of onion rings. YUM. read more

Admiral Pub is as solid a bar as you'll get. I usually stop in here when I'm meeting up with a buddy of mine who lives in the Admiral area. It always ends the same way... I'm filled with too much cold beer, delicious greasy food and a 2nd place finish at Big Buck Hunter. It's fairly big with plenty of options depending on who you're hanging out with. Up front there's tables for dining. Kids are allowed up in this area. There are darts, pool tables and plenty of TVs. Pub classics like Big Buck Hunter and Golden Tee are in the back. Lots of selections and options on the menu. Mostly pub grub type stuff but they do offer some home cookin' meals. They updated things not too long ago so it's nicer and cleaner then similar spots near by. Parking can be a challenge at times in the neighborhood, but there's always a spot if you don't mind a block or two walk. read more

Admiral Pub is one of those nice looking middle class bars that you'd go to after a hard day at work. No pretension here. No one to impress. Just the perfect place to have a cold one and some bar food. They have an extensive menu which was impressive. I chose to go with the famous deep fried macaroni and cheese triangles which were delicious. There are a few video games and a pool table or two. There are a couple of flat screens that were stationed on the Speed channel which I found amusing. They also have those tv trivia games. I've always wanted to try my hand at those games. The pub is located on California, past Admiral, and is pretty dive-ish. They have a few pool tables, a jukebox, a bar, and a few tables for you to grab some munchies. They also have pool tabs for those who wanna try their luck. I've been here a few times and it seemed more clean my last visit. Furthermore, it is uber cheap grub: They have like $2 hot dogs that are loaded with goodies and are fairly large, and their happy hour menu is really good. Steak bites are $5 and they come on a wood burner and you cook them to your liking! Pretty gourmet for the cost I'd say! Lastly, there are a couple perks to the location of the pub: Heartland Cafe is right down the street for late night breakfast if you'd like, or Shipwreck Tavern most likely has live music jamming out too... All in all I would say Admiral is a great place in WS! read more

Just recently moved back to West Seattle and was pleasantly surprised by the Admiral Pub. Some friends who were new in town were hungry and the pub was the first thing we came across on our quest for lunch within walking distance from my place. What I'd long thought to be a dive bar is actually bright, clean and modern inside, with pool tables, arcade games, and a huge selection of food and drinks. We sampled from their happy hour menu, and really liked the food, even though it left a grease bomb in our bellies :) But hey, $30 for beers and apps for three ain't too shabby! I also noticed that during NFL season they offer a free buffet on gameday Sundays with the ourchase of a drink. BOOM. Plus they have SkeeBall, which earns any place an extra star in my book. Will definitely be frequenting this little gem. Can't wait to come back! read more

Been here twice. First time, I was with my hubby and Thrill k. We had the huge plate of nachos, they had a pitcher or two of beer and played some pool. I think we were here during a week day so it wasn't to terribly packed and the service was *awesome*. Advance a year later. Service was still awesome. Pool cheap and cool. Better selection of music on a gianormus iPod looking thing. But the nachos... SHITTY!!!!!!! I could have made better nachos while stoned on Perkacet after my C-section... read more

We went to Admiral Pub to watch the WSU/UW basketball game and to have some drinks and food. The atmosphere is laid back and there are great choices for beer and cider. The wings were excellent as was the burger and quesadilla. Service was very attentive and the bartender was very friendly. There are a number of big screens throughout the bar so you can watch them from wherever you are sitting. With ping pong and pool what more can you ask for! We definitely enjoyed the Admiral Pub and will be back (plus the Cougs won!). read more

This place is great. The food is the typical bar food. But, the food isn't just drab junk used to absorb booze. It has always been very tasty, even when not drunk. They have cheap pool which is usually available. Darts at the end of building. Also, worth noting they have both Golden Tee and Big Buck Hunter arcade games! Prices are reasonable on food and drinks. Staff is friendly. They have a few flat screen TVs well placed for sports. read more

I wish I could do 3 1/2 stars, or break down what I'm starring. The Admiral Pub is an unassuming, "normal" bar in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. It's like a breath of fresh air, if fresh air smelled like stale grease. They have pinball--a really awesome game that is basically a Caddyshack rip-off with gophers and golf and other fun stuff. They have cold beer and servers who look you in the eye. They don't care who you are or what you're wearing. They have onion rings. It's a great place. read more

When it comes to pubs, it's really all about what YOU want in a place. That said, when it comes to pubes, too many are definitely too many. But I digress... For the average neighborhood place, it's great. The Admiral has decent food and a wide variety of different stuff to order, totally standard fare as far as beer goes, and a plethora of bar games to play. It certainly is an added bonus that they have Poker a few nights a week. It's not the new kid on the block--there's a bunch of newer joints that have recently opened up nearby, but each spot offers something a bit unique. The Admiral delivers in every aspect of "neighborhood pub" that you'd want it to. This place really needs to upgrade the beer selection a bit. The tap lines are nasty-- you can taste the crud built up in them. The also need to have a few rotating taps and not offer the same beer out of the same handle that's been there for two years. Change it up a bit!! This is not a place I'd go out of my way to visit, but if you're in the 'hood, here's where I'd go to start my day/night to be sure! You'll catch me in here again for sure--but pretentious is not the word I'd use to describe this Pub. Come in, relax and enjoy! read more

they say that this is like a sports bar, yea right. I went there to watch a 10am seahawks game. the TVs were plentiful, but small. They messed up on my bill, they did correct it though. (ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL). The breakfast that they served was way OVERPRICED. Continuing on with the food: no butter or jam for the toast, none in the kitchen when i asked?!? the eggs were obviously cooked with the meat, im not a vegitarian, but they tasted salty and like chicken, barf. chicken fried steak was smaller then a dicks burger. we had 3 seperate meals & no one could finish these gross entrees. read more

First (and most importantly, in my opinion): THEY DO NOT HAVE BIG BUCK HUNTER!!! Maybe they did, once upon a time, but I was terribly disappointed when I visited Admiral Pub after reading other reviews and hoping that I'd found the ONLY place in West Seattle with BBH. Nope. They have pool tables and a new-ish electro-jukebox, and I think they had Golden Tee in the back. But no Big Buck Hunter or any variation of it. Boo hoo. Oh yeah, I had a drink and the fish & chips while I was there. The drink was fine for a simple whiskey & diet Coke, and the fish & chips were pretty unsatisfying. They took way too long despite the place being mostly empty, and all of the food was a previously-frozen, soggy and tasteless pile of deep-fried 'blah.' The people playing pool looked like they were having fun, I guess. Just bring back Big Buck Hunter, and all will be forgiven. I promise. Please? read more

The hand-cut french fries were perfect, just the right amount of seasoning without overwhelming the natural grace of piping hot potatoes, not too crunchy, not too soft. The service was acceptably good and the place was clean enough, but the quintessential bar fries were really the standout here. read more

Yay! Finally an updated menu! This is a good all around bar. Good (not great) food. I like that they now have a la carte ordering so I'm not ordering food I have no intention of eating. The new spicy links are good. They have all the traditional stuff you will find at a sports bar. Darts, pool tables, vid games, pinball (Raiders at the moment). But the best part is the staff. Stacy is a happy lady, Adelle is fun, Jose is perfect. Friendly, genuine and makes a good drink. And when you get bored at night, you can always walk next door and sing some karaoke... read more

A really fun pub. We moved here in the midst of Covid so we have not really had a chance to enjoy the drinks and games they have on offer, but really looking forward to that. We ordered takeout from here once. The wings are not bad. I was very disappointed in the Philly cheesesteak. "Thinly shaved beef" is completely misleading as the meat product was steakum. While we may return to try other offerings - and definitely will visit the bar and game room when conditions permit - I will be sure to stay away from cheesesteak. read more

I hadn't been there in about 5 years, but I got a coupon for their filet and baked potato special. For $20 you get two filets (maybe 6 oz??) and two baked potatos. I think they only come with butter and sour cream so if you want cheese, bacon and green onions it's about $2 more. The meat comes sizzling on a stone and you have to let it sit there till halfway done then flip it with the tongs they give you. It was taking awhile since it was so thick so I ended up cutting it and throwing it back on the stone. The cocktails weren't all that grand and the onion rings were so-so. Good for a coupon thing, but probably wouldn't order it otherwise. read more

For a dive bar this place is pretty great! ESPECIALLY FOR SEAHAWKS GAMES! There are two pool tables at the very back, $1.00 or 0.75 a game. There are also ski ball and dart machines. There is a photo booth/electronic jukebox thing and an ATM available. The drinks are STIFF. I don't know how many times I've had to stop at two white russians. The food is traditional pub food, but isn't bad at all. The popcorn chicken, fried mac and cheese, baked potato, and sweet potato fries are all delicious. Oh that's right, baked potato isn't a normal bar meal... anyways, it was delicious! The bartenders are usually pretty nice and attentive if you're at the bar. I wouldn't recommend this bar if you want waiter service at your booth/table. Seahawks games are absolutely fun here! They have drink specials and have decorations for the games! GO SEAHAWKS! I have frequented this place in the past at night and decided to stop by on a random Sunday afternoon to watch some soccer on their big screens with a couple friends. Let's just say I will not be returning anytime soon during the day. There were a couple drunk patrons for a Sunday at 12:00. Yes, 12:00pm! Trust me I am not a prude. I like to drink & have a really great time! These patron's had their children with them and were being so loud and obnoxious that me in my 20's was saying WTF?! As we were planning on drinking a couple we figured the booze would help the tolerance factor and decided to stick around. Bad choice.....soon after arriving and sitting at the tables with waiter service we were not greeted or acknowledged for over 10 minutes. The waitress was too busy mingling with bartenders & patrons that I decided to get up & get our own menus. I know this is a bar.......but with as few people as there was & with waiter service you would think a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" would be said. NOPE! Another 10 minutes or so came & went so I wen't up to the bar & placed our food & drink orders. That alone took what felt like a lifetime, probably cause I was already irritated by the bad service. There was no line and bartender decided to mingle with the waitress discussing children drink cup sizes and stock the bar before popping the cap and handing me our drinks. Soon after placing our order the waitress finally came over and greeted us bringing our condiments & napkins for our food orders. I will give it to her that she was prompt in returning with our next drink order. We ordered Beef Pub Tacos & Fry Basket. The food presentation was decent but the food was god awful terrible! The Pub Tacos tasted like dirt! I am pretty sure the fresh ingredients on our tacos were never washed & prepped properly (cabbage etc.) The beef was flavorless and had a hard crust on the majority of it as though it was reheated leftovers or had been sitting for a while. The fries were stale & not seasoned. Down right terrible! The two guys I was with are normally garbage disposals of anything edible and they turned down the food. This place has great potential!! Darts, Skee Ball, Pool, and Poker Tourneys everything that would make the perfect local watering hole even better.....unfortunately the day time service & the food has pretty much ruined it for me and I am not sure if I will be returning in the later hours due to this experience and that saddens me. For my neighborhood bar, I am quite happy this place exists. When I go to a pub I never expect great service, but the people here are truly amazing and welcoming. I'm really bummed by this place. It was a neighborhood joint where the tvs sucked but the food was good and the pour was stiff and the staff knew your name. (Previously would have received a 4star rating.) Now the tvs are awesome, but the food sucks, we get measured pours and the bar manager only looks up from his phone long enough to look you up and down and ask what you want without smiling. If I wanted to be around grouchy people and a great tv, I would have just stayed home. read more

My new favorite place! The food is great, the darts are fun, the projector screen is gigantic. Tons of fun during NFL games and the staff are all friendly and very helpful. Try the jello shots! They are perfect. read more

Cheap drinks and plenty of seats, what more could you want for a bar? I've yet to try the food but I'm sure it's just fine, but it's hard to beat $5-$6 craft beers and a seating area big enough for my girlfriend and I to find a corner to sit and drink. read more

Gross, gross and gross. Smells terrible, looks like it hasn't made it out of the 70's, tiny tv's so not worth watching sports and enjoying a brew even. If the environment wasn't so nasty, I would definitely recommend people watching here...pretty entertaining! read more
