Kinder 4 Care saved my dog Benjamin's life, and I'll always be grateful I took him there. Before coming here, I went to another emergency vet (Access in Woodland Hills) that took X-rays but completely failed to identify the actual issue. Meanwhile, they were charging me an unbelievable amount without even having a real plan or moving toward surgery. I left feeling stressed, confused, and terrified for my dog. The moment I arrived at Kinder 4 Care the next morning, they took X-rays and confidently knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done. Benjamin had swallowed a foreign object, and within about an hour of arriving, he was already in surgery. Their team acted quickly, knowledgeably, and decisively, which is exactly what you want in an emergency situation. The surgery to remove the foreign object was around $3,700 with the x-rays, which from my understanding is actually on the lower end for an emergency surgery like this. They kept Benjamin for two nights afterward, and every time I checked in, they were responsive and reassured me that he was doing great. I've seen reviews saying they can come across as rude, but honestly, when your dog's life is on the line, none of that matters. I wasn't there looking for luxury customer service -- I needed experienced professionals who knew exactly what to do and could save my dog. And that's exactly what they did. Years later, I am still hearing threats that this review will result in a lawsuit. Yet no attorney has ever contacted me because everything I have written is based on my actual experience. My dog was brought to this facility with two broken legs. After driving two hours to the appointment and waiting for hours in a hot parking lot, I eventually learned that my dog had not even been seen yet. During that time, she was sitting in the back of the facility injured and unattended while I was repeatedly given little to no information about what was happening. What made the situation worse was that payment was taken upfront for services that were documented on the paperwork and represented as being provided, yet those services were ultimately not performed. Instead of accountability, I was given excuses and offered vouchers that did nothing to address the problem. The lack of communication, organization, and transparency throughout the entire process was unacceptable. When people bring their animals to a rescue or veterinary organization, they are often scared, emotional, and relying on the staff to provide honest information and competent care. That was not my experience. I stand by my review because it reflects exactly what I experienced: poor communication, poor customer service, and treatment of both animals and owners that I found deeply troubling. WORST vet EVER!!! Laurel the manager told me to "shut up" asking for a vet's note when my dog came out with a wrap after a catheter was in her for HOURS .After they had my dog all day god knows where, with no food & water!! I came in with an appointment for a dental cleaning & followed their instructions coming in at 8 am with no food in her stomach so she can be put under anesthesia. I was told THAT morning and not the previous week when her bloodwork was actually done that her liver & kidney levels were a bit high. I waited in the NoHo area all day and at 4 pm I get a call that she unfortunately wouldn't be able to be seen due to the unfortunate circumstances that other animals had emergencies, which I completely understood I just don't understand that if that was the case why I wasn't told earlier to come pick her up instead of her having her probably wait in a cage all day!! I came in, no one was waiting, I spoke to Ashley she gave me a check for the deposit back and the blood work results. That's when I asked for a note stating that she hadn't been sedated and she said ok. I waited for about 20 minutes it filled up with clients at that time and asked again and still wasn't given the note. I asked again 3rd time and she said she's trying to get a hold of her manager. Finally she gets a hold of her manager and for some odd reason puts me on the phone with her (laurel) she then tries to condescendingly explain that there were emergencies, but I told her that wasn't my issue. That issue is that I wanted a note explaining you didn't put my dog under anesthesia after she came out with a catheter wrap. She then threatened to hang up which at that point I wished she would've. I just kept repeating that I wanted a note for the next Vet and for her health records she told me to shut up so I hung up and at that point I lost and broke down in tears because I just don't understand what office wouldn't write a vets note for someone who's asking I've never been to someplace that wouldn't be given the vets notes. It's like asking for a doctor's note. So unprofessional and so disappointing. It's a tough situation to be in, no money and a dying dog. I just noticed so many poor reviews, I had to leave my own. I was going through a financial crisis due to my dog becoming sick. I spent a couple months and several thousand dollars at multiple vets. Several different diagnosis and a final diagnosis of a huge mass in his intestines. Surgery, due to the multiple diagnosis, x-rays, ultrasound exams, medication and weekly visits was now not an option. I was also told he wouldn't survive a Surgery nor could they tell me exactly what it was. I called Kinder, explained my situation, what I had available in cash and credit, they said come right now. When they examined him, he couldn't walk, wasnt eating anymore. I asked if they could do exploratory Surgery. They took him in, opened him up and removed an obstruction, saved his life. This was a $6000 Surgery. I paid $2800. Uther lived a long and amazing life for a bully dog. I'm thankful for the care. Nobody will care the way Kinder does. Long waits outside, poor parking situation, rough customer care, whatever! My dog had the most loving incompetent care, no money too bad so sad. This place was referred to me by my primary vet as a low cost alternative. I sent them an email requesting a quote for a small mass removal and included a brief history of my dog's health and other information I thought might be useful to them. They sent me an extremely unhelpful and rude email response stating: "We don't have time to read the stories about the dog and we don't give quotes in emails. You have to be seen Monday Wednesday or Friday. Check-in is 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM no food or water". I have family that work at veterinary clinics, I COMPLETELY understand how swamped these places can get. But they could have used the same amount of energy to type a kind message stating they were unable to give quotes over email. Why put the email on your website if you can't offer any additional information? I'm not asking for much. I would have happily brought my dog in had they responded professionally, even without a quote. Their attitude made me lose all confidence that I could trust this place with my pet. After reading Reddit horror stories and other reviews about kinder 4 rescue, I am glad I steered clear of them. read more

On August 14 , my son took his cat -- a member of our family for over 5 years -- to Kinder 4 Rescue for an emergency C-section. She was in labor and needed immediate medical attention. My son dropped her off at 8:00 AM, LAUREN KINDER pressured my 16-year-old son -- who suffers from severe depression and anxiety -- to sign documents. Despite assurances, we received no updates all day. At 3:00 PM, LAUREN told my son that the cat was a "stray" and demanded $3,000 to release her. When I called to intervene, the woman laughed over the phone and told me to "bring your green card to the clinic" if I wanted the cat back. They refused to release her and claimed she had been sent to a shelter, but when we checked, she was not there. Her current location is unknown, and we are deeply worried for her safety. This entire situation caused tremendous emotional trauma, especially to my son, who now feels hopeless, responsible, and devastated. My cat cracked her canine and was really in a lot of pain. My usual vet quoted me $4500 for the surgery which felt exorbitant and impossible to me currently. Kinder 4 Rescue did the procedure for a very reasonable fee, they were communicative via text the day of the surgery, and my cat is just about recovered 2 weeks later. I'm very grateful for this clinic as a single cat mom trying to survive in LA. I would recommend this place for cat dentals to anyone. I agree with other reviews that the wait is long- my cat was there from 7:30 AM until 8:30 PM which was hard for me emotionally, but for the price and the quality of care, it is a trade off that makes sense. MISSING CAT - PLEASE HELP LAUREL STOLE THIS CAT! SHE IS A HORRIBLE PERSON!!! I've had run inside with her before!! On August 13, 2025, we took our beloved cat, part of our family for over 5 years, to Kinder 4 Rescue (Laurel Kinder) for an emergency C-section. My 17-year-old son dropped her off at 8:00 AM. He told them he didn't know what to do, but Laurel Kinder pressured him into signing papers without letting him read them. My son's father was there too, but he doesn't speak English and couldn't help. At 3:00 PM, when my son called for an update, Laurel told him that the cat "wasn't his anymore," that she was a "stray," and demanded $3,000 from us. This is not true -- my son doesn't even have a phone and never said our cat was a stray. When I called myself, Laurel told me I had "no rights" to my own cat. Later that day, when I arrived with the police, she claimed the cat had been "sent to a shelter." But I have checked every local shelter, and our cat is nowhere to be found. Our cat is still missing. She is not a stray -- she is our baby. This has devastated my son, who feels responsible and is struggling badly with his mental health. Please help us bring her home. So thankful for Kinder 4 Rescue. I brought in one of my dogs Harvey for dental. The team was incredibly thorough and kind. After a few days, he had somehow ripped out one of his sutures and was bleeding. I contacted them immediately and on a Friday night when they close at 6:30 - they stayed open two extra hours just to make sure he was OK. I read all the reviews before I went to Kinder4Rescue and I think it's very easy for impatient people to write negative things. I wanna make sure that everyone understands how incredible they are. I would very very highly refer them to all of my friends and as I have numerous dogs, I will definitely be back to see them I'm sure sometime in the future. read more

Our cat had surgery here and told us that we need to go on a prescription diet for life. The staff was incredibly rude and wouldn't give us the prescription even tho we've requested multiple times over the course of more than two weeks. I find it incredibly frustrating that getting a simple prescription can be so difficult. The staff told us that we don't need a prescription and that we should order from Blue Vet, but Blue Vet charges more than double the price than chewy and still requires a prescription for the prescription diet that they recommended. read more

I truly cannot say enough good things about this animal surgical center. My cat was suffering from severe entropion in both eye his eyelids were rolling inward, constantly rubbing against his eyes, causing painful ulcers. It was heartbreaking to watch, and anyone who's dealt with this condition knows how serious and painful it is. We were initially quoted $4,300 by an animal ophthalmologist, which felt overwhelming. Thankfully, I found this place and it was nothing short of a miracle. They charged a fraction of that cost without sacrificing care, quality, or compassion. They seem busy taking care of as many animals as possible so yes, they may not have time "hold your hand" but they are prioritizing helping as many animals as possible so just be patient and let them work their magic. From the very beginning, the facility was amazing. They got us in right away with their surgeon, treated us with kindness and made it clear they genuinely care about animals. The surgery was an absolute success, and my kitty truly has his life back. He's comfortable, happy, and finally pain free and I am beyond grateful. The absolute worst. Info on website is wrong. Waited for hours in the cold just to be told to come back another day. Came back and waited more hours in the cold. They cancelled the appointment and rescheduled for weeks later. They take your pet for the whole day and don't guarantee they will be treated. They claim to keep prices down by not employing front desk people, but their prices are not lower and it is pure chaos, disrespect, and incompetence. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. I wouldn't go here. Honestly the owner is insensitive, rude, and just money hungry. I needed to take my dog to an urgent care and was recommended this hospital by another vet. I called and spoke with the owner Laurel, I didn't even know I was speaking to the owner because no one introduced themselves. I only know her name because she has many negative reviews on yelp and on the BBB. Anywho, I continued on and asked if they would help me, she proceeded to explain why she couldn't help me and I further explained what my issue was. At first I didn't think anything of her nasty behavior towards me but it continued. She quoted me for X-rays, blood work and dr reading the results back. I repeated what was said and added, "so it's like an exam" she said no. Whatever that's an examination but okay, I continued to ask. If my animal doesn't need surgery would it be the flat fee that was quoted or would there be hidden fees. As soon as I said that Laurel got aggressive over the phone and hung up on my face while I still needed service. I told her how she was rude and insensitive towards potential clients and current client's. I am so grateful to this clinic! I went with little other choice, noticing that my cat was in dental pain, but with very little money. The staff were kind and polite, if rushed. They obviously run a tight budget. For scheduled surgeries, be prepared for no contact all day, until the end. So for me, drop off was at 7:30am, no contact until 6:00pm, and pick up at 7:30pm. Everyone else was picking up too. My shy and sensitive cat came back surprisingly alert and untraumatized (even accounting for the drugs), like the set up was as calm and reassuring as possible. My Mom took her precious pup here to have an extensive elective dental surgery. After careful blood testing, considering her ilder age, and checkups, they said that pup may not make it through the surgery and they didn't want to take the chance. Do not have your animals teeth cleaned at this facility. My dog was evaluated and had two loose teeth. The dog had bad periodontal disease but just needed a good cleaning of his teeth. I dropped off my dog and heard nothing for hours. When I finally received an email of my bill they pulled 24 teeth! This was drastic. There was no need without consultation to remove his entire mouth of teeth. It is lower price but in the end very barbaric. My dog is maimed for life. He is 11 and under went a horrific traumatic event now. The dogs personality changed. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT! They decide what's best for your animal without consulting you. I owe all staff at Kinder 4 Rescue my life. My love/rescue Moonie had ingested gorilla wood glue while I was away at school while I left her with a sitter. Moonie has pica and has to be constantly watched and made sure no toxic substances are out for her to play with/eat. Unlucky for me my dad was building something and threw the glue in the trash without a lid which Moonie can reach. She got into it and I did not notice the container til two days later hiding in her toys and she started showing symptoms. Vomiting and not eating. I went all around LA county to look for help but unfortunately all other vets were out of my price range (7.5k+ surgery) since I am just a junior in college. I hoped Moonie could hold on for one day when Kinder was open and they took her in ASAP. All staff was kind and worried just as I was. Their quote was less than half at previous vets and they sent me photos of her everyday and kept my updated. I finally got her 48 hours later and she is eating, going strong and I am forever grateful that I did not have to put my baby down for my lack of funds. If you love your pet, please think twice before coming here. I brought my dog Titan to Kinder4Rescue during an emergency. He was struggling to breathe -- I was terrified and desperate to get him help. The receptionist, a heavyset bald man in his 40s, told me they could assist, though they were limited to blood work and X-rays. I agreed, hoping it would at least give us answers. After waiting about an hour, no one -- not even the veterinarian -- came to speak with me about the results. I was simply handed paperwork with no explanation, and told I'd have to go somewhere else. They didn't even provide a referral, even though the place they sent me to required one. I had to leave with my dog dying in my arms, without any guidance, support, or empathy. No urgency. No compassion. Just a cold, disorganized experience that made everything worse. What's worse is that I was charged first, only to be told later that they couldn't interpret the tests. That kind of dishonesty in an emergency situation is inexcusable. I should have been told upfront that there was a possibility they wouldn't be able to help. Instead, I was misled -- and while they may see dozens of cases a day, this was my dog's life. Titan passed shortly after. I will never forget the look in his eyes, and the guilt I carry for trusting this place in his final moments. The staff, especially the vet, seemed completely disconnected from their responsibility as caretakers of animals. I felt like a number, a transaction -- not a grieving pet parent watching his best friend fade. This place failed Titan. And they failed me. Please don't let them fail your pet too. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!! Took my dog in for dental work. They removed some teeth, did a deep clean and sent us home with medication. For the next few weeks our dog was not getting better, but instead got worse! He had no energy and was clearly in pain. He would tremble all the time, and was terrified of eating. When he did eat, we noticed he would tilt his head to the side and would have a hard time swallowing his food. Everytime I tried to look in his mouth, he would get scared and I didn't want to hurt him. I finally was able to really look into his mouth and saw that they had left an exposed bone. I took him back to this place and the same doctor that did his cleaning a few weeks prior looked at it and said that yes it was a fistula and he would have to close it. I told him that I also thought there was something wrong with his throat and if they could take an X-ray to see. Of course I had to wait almost a month or so to be able to get an appointment for this but he finally went in. I dropped him off when they opened at 7am. Around 5pm, I get a call from the same doctor who asked me why I had brought my dog in if he had just had his teeth cleaned a few weeks ago and didn't need another one. I think it took me a while to respond because I was in shock and I told them if they had looked at their notes because it would say he was there for a fistula. Doctor responded with "oh ok, we will call you when he's done!" Unbelievable! I finally went to pick him up and they said they had closed the fistula and that the X-rays of his throat looked fine to them. I asked them to email them to me just so I could have them incase I needed to take him somewhere else and they agreed. They also decided to extract more teeth without telling me which I did not understand since he was just there a few weeks before. We went home again with more medications. I was really hoping the problem was solved and he would start feeling better, but we were wrong. He got WORSE! We finally decided to take him to a different vet where I explained everything my poor dog had been through. I told him that even though they had done X-rays on his throat and said everything looked ok, I still felt that there was something wrong and sent them the X-rays. When they looked at them, they said "these X-rays are not of his throat but of his spine" I had no words! This new vet put him under to be able to check what was going on and they found a BIG hole in his throat!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Thankfully, this amazing new vet was able to do surgery and close up the hole but my dog is still not the same and in the recovery process. I cannot explain the stress and pain this has caused my dog and us. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! I know this place charges a lot less than other vets, but please learn from my experience and spend the $ to make sure your animal gets the correct care they need. read more

Emailed, and got response 2 weeks later, blood test weren't valid anymore for anesthesia. It's a scam. They never drew blood from my dog, I asked for the results and they said they would give me the results the day of the dental. So they charged and dismissed us for something they didn't even do!! Took her to another place, they showed me the vials with her blood drawn, received the results in 48 hours. Avoid if you love your pet. But then when it was over, they held our dog hostage for $704. We declined medications that we ALREADY HAVE at home for the dog and they refused to release her to my partner unless she paid up for them. They berated her and pressured her, insinuating she was a bad dog owner, THEN forced her UNDER DURESS to apply for a scam credit card to pay the balance we didn't even owe them. She had no choice as they were holding the dog hostage. We will be going over options right now. But avoid this place at all cost!!! And we will be reporting that credit application as fraud.
