This place was recommended to us by friends, so we went today and enjoyed it. We loved the modern atmosphere and the seating was comfortable. The waitress was prompt and our order came out perfectly. I started with a cucumber lemonade (with alcohol) drink and it was yummy as all get out. I'd have loved to have one or three more but didn't want the hangover! I ordered the 8" veggie pizza and minused the peppers. I usually don't order veggie simply due to the amount of liquid that ends up sogging up the crust. I suspected today's would be good and it was! First time here, we arrived just as they opened. Nicely done inside, with a nice combination of tables and booths. Some extra large tables for large families or large group gatherings. Excellent service, great recommendations. I opted for the Italian trio, which had lasagna, Alfredo, and Tuscan chicken. All three were delicious! The bread was warm, soft, and complemented the mean well. The pizza had a great crisp crust and a wonderful spice to the pepperoni! My only regret is that I didn't try this place earlier! read more

To me, Adornetto's is pure nostalgia. It's a nod to my entire childhood. My parents would bring us here as kids for "special occasions" and they even had date nights here before we were born. My grandmother was friends with Catherine and Joanne was the nicest, classiest lady. We've all since grown and moved on to other cities in our lives. For Mother's Day, we opted to return to one of our favorite restaurants and were excited to see the new remodeling, as well as the addition of the new bar. Upon arrival, we were given a wait time of 20-30 minutes (no problem). However, a party of 50 had just walked in before us. Wth?!!? Did they call ahead? Make reservations? Apparently not. Why not suggest they have food catered? The inept manager decided to accommodate them ahead of all other guests. Our 20-30 minute wait ended up being over an hour. I decided to order a drink at the bar during the wait. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes (the bartender (Rodney) made eye contact with me twice, however refused to acknowledge me or take my order. While standing there, a gentleman sat down at the bar and was tended to immediately. Another gentleman walked up to the bar around the corner and was also acknowledged and attended to within seconds. After 10 minutes, I gave up. Another party who had gotten there before the party of 50 was forced to wait until after the giant party was seated before they could get a table. It was mayhem. No apologies and I felt terrible for all of the servers who were forced to take care of the giant party without warning. After FINALLY being sat, our sweet server did her best to take care of our party of 10. The food was nostalgic and decent. The new menu additions were good. I love the addition of the bar. The renovations are beautiful. However, management and bartender both soured our experience. The new Adornetto's definitely has some growing pains to work out if they want their loyal customers to return. Zanesville is filled with great food options now and good service is necessary for an optimal dining experience. I hope they're able to step up their game. I can't, for the life of me, understand why they don't take reservations (?). It would streamline guest experiences and make it easier to staff and be prepared for success. read more

Food is good but it would be nice if everyone's meal came out at the same time instead of staggered. The people who I was with refused to eat their meal because I hadn't got mine yet. Their food ended up getting cold. It was like our meals were brought out at 15 minute intervals. I waited 30 minutes after the first of our meals was delivered before I got my meal. Located centrally on Maple Ave in Zanesville Ohio, Adornetto's brings a straightforward, classic Italian menu. The slant is traditional...and I mean that as a compliment. The restaurant was busy with a high school playoff game in town. Our wait was short in a spacious waiting area. The building itself is either new or newly remodeled. Overall the space was comfortable and well done. Service is really my only less than great observation. I believe a combination of being wait list busy and a very young wait staff contributed here. Nothing against young servers, but the staff seemed to be mostly low experience high schoolers. That is not to say they were not trying hard. They were. The restaurant would benefit from stronger waitstaff leadership and training The food was very good. I love traditional Italian, and this is some family recipe stuff going on here. I had the lasagne with a side meatball and it was well done with a nice sized portion. My wife had pasta with red sauce, and a bowl of wedding soup. All were fresh and homemade. Good stuff here. One thing that was somewhat strange was that we were not able order a small pizza as an appetizer. Being our first time there we wanted to sample the pizza and other dishes. Our server said that was not possible. Overall we enjoyed our meal at Adornetto's. Solid well prepared and presented food for a reasonable price. We will definitely return. read more

Seems like we got there at the right time as the queue for seating started stacking up as we started chatting with our incredibly nice server(s). Friend of ours grew up in the area and stated as they grew up, he and his brother would argue about where to go to dinner. Our friend wanted Tom's and his brother wanted pizza from Adornetto's. Having been to Tom's a couple times we decided we'd try here and holy moly's. Interior is dated but very cute, like an old school Italian diner. Very well kept, clean and well lit. I simply cannot believe we hadn't been here yet. First off, the prices are way lower than what we are used to in our home area. The lasagna, the cheese tortellini and the pizza were all delicious. My absolute favorite was the cheese bread. The butter crispy melt in your mouth savory flavor was hard to hold back my "Mmmmm... that's good!" The service was spectacular, nobody stands still in this store. Servers always moving back and forth making sure everybody at their tables were taken care of. Absolutely fantastic! We got a giant salad and large half mushroom and half pepperoni to go, after visiting Mom and Dad this weekend. It's nice to come back to Zanesville, visit friends and family, and grab the best pizza in Zanesville (and best pizza in all of South Eastern Ohio for that matter) and a perfectly crafted salad. Their Italian dressing is addictive as always and the pepperoni pizza was perfection. Truly the pizza people come home for! Also, a little side note of how their employees have a great mindset even during the global pandemic. They undercharged us at the first window accidentally because our name was phonetically very similar to another order (as well as the total order price was almost identical) so I could see how it was an easy mixup. They offered to waive the difference in charge because it was their mistake, which they did not have to do by any means, but it was their first response. I forced them to charge us the correct amount LOL This is indicative of a good culture from the top down, so well done team! read more

We came for a family dinner. Ordered 2 pizzas the crust was 99% of the pizza which was super dry with scant toppings. I've not recently had a worse pizza. I don't know what happened but it wasn't as I remember it from a few years ago. A few folks ordered the spaghetti and it seemed like you could pop open a bottle of Rao's and boil some pasta at home for better taste at a fraction of the price. Perplexing. Well, the giant sign out front says it all. It's pizza people come home for, seriously! Adornetto's is a locally owned Italian restaurant, known mainly for their pizza and salads. I can still remember the first time I had it - It was 2002 and I had just moved to Ohio from California, my extended family picked my family up from the airport, and we went straight to my aunt's house where they had a bunch of pizzas and salads waiting for us. I can't even count the number of times I've been back since! I don't dine in very often but when I do its always nice. The dining room is very large and open. It's clean and the service is always good. It does get busy on the weekends so be mindful of when you come, there could be a wait. Honestly, I generally order pick up and take my food home. They have a really easy drive up window, it never takes long for your order to get ready, and the teens managing it are always fun. Their salads are simply iceberg lettuce with tons of mozzarella cheese. They have some of their own dressings to choose from, I usually get the ranch. I also like to crumble their crackers on top for some crunch. When it comes to pizza I'm so basic and usually just get cheese. The crust is relatively thin and it's got a little crunch to it. The same family that owns the restaurant also owns Giacomo's right next door and the Market House in downtown Zanesville. These people know Italian, know good food and know good service. Food great...Value, not so much. About two years ago a family style spaghetti dinner cost $29. That included enough pasta to feed at least six, 7 meatballs, a HUGE bowl of salad that could fill 8 salad bowls with some left over, and bread. NOW THAT SAME "DINNER" COST $56. SERIOUSLY!!! For $29 you still get the large bowl of pasta and the meatballs BUT THAT'S IT!! The large bowl of salad is $24, even the 2 small loaves of bread are extra!! We also got 2 pizzas which were great. A small 2 item was around $12 and a large was around $15. Now, a lot of people would still say this is a great value. Not if you have been going to Adornettos for the last 50 years. Great food --- great service - specifically Taylor, who took excellent care of us on the patio! Food was excellent! We had the spaghetti and meet balls and the sampler! Plenty of food for two meals! The salad was good --- just ok. The Italian dressing wasn't anything special and somewhat bland, but about average. We were asked if we wanted cheese on our salad and we both said yes --- well it was $1 extra and A LOT of cheese... we should have split the amount of cheese we were provided. Unfortunately the outside seating is in front of the restaurant and on a very busy street. No fault of the proprieties, but be warned if you sit outside it is traffic LOUD!! Taylor was FIRST class and did an amazing job of anticipating our dining needs!!! Go back? Next time in Zanesville for sure!! Might dine inside just to avoid to semi noise next time. Food is great, service is bad. I've lived here for fifty years and this has always been a good establishment. It's seems like a social club these days with staff gathering around hostess desk chit chatting while tables need bused and tables waiting to order. As well as people waiting to be seated. One server had a 15 Minute conversation with a friend at the table next to us. I miss The previous head of house. The two now not impressed with. One was snacking on something at the hostess booth. Guess I'll just use the drive through when I have a desire for there pizza. read more

We had a pretty soggy pizza a few weeks ago which, as everyone knows, is gross. So we called about it and got a free pizza for a later date. We used that free one last night. Excessively greasy and once again soggy ... it seems to me that a few extra seconds or minutes in the oven might help solve the issue for topping compensation, but I'm not in the kitchen so..... We have been loyal patrons for years and years in this family, however if the quality of the product comes down to what we have gotten the last 2 times (one of them free no less) then its possibly time to move on! read more

When my parents wanted to have a Fathers' Day/birthday lunch, the obvious choice was to pick somewhere in Zanesville. With them driving in from the Pittsburgh area and Jules and I in Dayton, Zanesville makes for an ideal halfway stop. However, Zanesville's not exactly high up on the food scene, so I had to make a concerted effort to find a place that wasn't a chain restaurant or a counter-service joint for our lunch. That led me to Adornetto's; ironically, Jules had in fact been there once upon a time. Her family would occasionally stop by the place for dinner with her uncle, a Roseville native. However, with that all but 30 years in the past, it was high time to give Adornetto's another run. I'll say this for it, Adornetto's has the decor down pat. The restaurant has an Italizan palazzo feel, but stops short of the overdone, tacky stylings of an Olive Garden or the like. The restaurant has a casual, relaxed feel that I really enjoy. With that said, the food left me a little wanting. While I was sorely tempted by the award-winning pizza, I instead opted for their lasagna (with the famous red sauce) and a cup of the Italian wedding soup. Both of these, unfortunately, felt like half-hearted versions. The wedding soup was anemic, lacking seasoning, and was served quite sloppily, with a solid third of the bowl slopped over the onto the serving plate. The lasagna itself was fine, but the red sauce over the top was bland, tasting only of tomato, with no herbage of seasoning to speak of. Even my garlic bread seemed on the weak side, as if someone had merely thought about putting garlic or butter on the bread. While my wife's entree certainly looked better than mine, she too had issues with flavor. While I'd love to give Adornetto's another shot, I'm in Zanesville so infrequently that I'd just as soon find somewhere else. Sorry, guys, but I'll be giving Adornetto's a pass. read more

The process to dine in is to extreme.. Ordering and paying before you're even able to sit down. Service was very little waiting for food and when got food I had to return it because paper in food. After waiting for waiter to return food. And then waiting for new dinner for a while. No real apology thought manager would address it but he was no where to be found. Loved this place for years.
