Adriano salon is a gem. I got the best blowout ever by Adriano. He knows exactly what he is doing and his attention to detail is incredible. The salon was clean and most importantly I really had an incredible experience. Adriano cares about each client & ensuring they leave happy and satisfied and makes getting your hair done an experience. He was quick and efficient and really is a master at hair. My hair has never looked better & this is the type of blowout that will last a week. I will definitely be returning and truly only have wonderful things to say. Sadly I have a negative review about Marina. Lovely person, poor color treatment. I came in as a grown out bleach and tone requesting my hair to be colored champagne. Before and after photos were emailed. I left with darker hair, even after she toned it twice and two months later, my hair is still darker, never lightened over time as I was told, and it's brassy AF! She kept ignoring her boss' advice and demonstrated red flags of how new she is to be taking on advanced color models. Pros: ~Marina's incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and communicative, making the time enjoyable ~She generously had snacks - grapes, dried fruits, and nuts ~She's enthusiastic and dedicated to learning her craft ~She's understanding and reasonable ~She genuinely enjoys being a hair colorist ~The service cost more than quoted and Marina honored the original price ~She's able to reflect on her mistakes Cons: ~My hair was colored wayyyyyyy darker than discussed (photo of desired result was provided for objective understanding) and my HAIR NEVER LIGHTENED with TIME. ~Hair is brassy and inconsistent in its coloring ~She kept arguing and refusing to listen to her boss only to be told at the end that she didn't use enough bleach to lift color!!!! (I don't recommend her for dark hair going blonde cuz I don't think she's experienced enough to fully understand the accurate application and potency and doesn't seem to be aware of her limitations cuz she was ignoring her boss!) ~Marina said ash is gray, but my friend who's a hair colorist and my experience working at a salon (with zero training as a colorist/stylist) is that ash is green.... ~I told her I want to be blonde from root to end in person and in extensive email, using the words bleach and tone but at the end of my session, she said she didn't believe I was a bleach and tone and asked for photos. Then she complained 5 times that she misunderstood me and after hours left me with something I didn't want! WTF!!!!! ~She behaved in an inexperienced way, which as a client left me unsettled. Marina and I were emailing back and forth. I said I have a grown out bleach and tone and would like to be as blonde as possible from root to end but am open okay with some depth. I ended up not being a bleach and tone probably cuz I said the depth part. My hair's black and I learned that not every stylist knows how to make me blonde in a single session, so I was being open. BUT we talked enthusiastically for HOURS about how excited we are that I wanna go bright blonde all over. I used words like root to end blonde, bleach and tone, not wanting to see any black. She could've clarified at that point but didn't.... I don't think she was intentionally or maliciously ignoring me, but the outcome was extremely unfavorable. She was strong willed and stubborn in ignoring her boss, insistent about how she was gonna color it, by not letting him finish his sentence. Why didn't she take an approach of listening and discussing? She and I BOTH could've benefited from it. She wasn't rude, but sensing his experience vs hers, that dialogue was unsettling to witness as a client. Marina shared a story about how she decided to ignore her friend's request about a natural look and do it her way, but she made a mistake in her formula and accidentally gave her friend exactly what she wanted. It was a lesson from the universe to listen to her client's request. We've all had moments like this, but this experience felt fresh, new, and I prefer a more seasoned stylist who knows instinctively to listen to her clients more than her own biases, something she currently wasn't demonstrating. And she mentioned that she accidentally brought the wrong formula or made some sort of mistake. This was long before she colored my hair and things were still in the bottle. But she was very verbal and repetitive. We all make mistakes, but even her boss told her, it's okay, but we're professional. He was subliminally telling her to stop saying that!!!! Learning is important and pracrice is necessary. I just wish I wasn't the one being experimented on. She loves bright blonde but doesn't seem to have the extensive experience to execute it. I got my hair colored on Oct 25. It's now Dec 8 and my hair's still dark and now brassy. I've used purple.shampoo, got blowouts. At the end of the session, I brought up the black roots and she kept saying she didn't think I was ever a bleach and tone and asked for pictures. Then Marina got bummed out cuz she didn't give me that. How was I supposed to know she'd deviate and make a different interpretation???? I do think years later, Marina can be an exceptionally talented colorist, but right now she's still learning. At the end, no amt of kindness justifies a shitty color experience and unnecessarily feeling uncomfortable. read more

I visited the first week Adriano opened In Beverly Hills- he created an amazing subtle look with natural highlights and balayage. I felt like he cared for my hair like no other person had in this world before, he caressed it with the brush aside he was creating a masterpiece. It was truly art. This is where it is!!! Adriano's Hair Salon is where you go to when you are in need for a total life changing experience, and my first time experience here was that & much more! I came to Adriano to fix the catastrophe which was done at a salon in my home country prior to traveling to California. My long curly hair was damaged and cutting it was a last resort to try to fix the look. I am quite laid back but the polar opposite when it comes to salon visits. I have a thousand request, and things I don't like in my hair,etc. Those routine request when straight out the door...I just knew I could trust Adriano right away because he sincerely cared about my thoughts. He didn't once give off an air of "I'm the hair stylist attitude" that most professionals have in upscale salons. Adriano, (The Michelangelo of Hair) turned me into a new person. In all my years, I never knew my curls could be so beautiful, lively. I found my place! Adriano did an absolutely amazing job!! I do have to say I'm extremely picky when it comes to getting my hair cut.. and I was absolutely stoked on my hair cut with Adriano! He really gets into the geometry, and puts a lot of focus on making sure your hair doest just look great when you leave; but when you wake up the next day and shower etc, that it still looks just as stunning and does for weeks as your hair grows out!! Also was an absolutely pleasant experience, had some wonderful wine and Adriano is a blast to chat with, all around great vibes!! My sister and I got our hair cut here while vacationing in Cali. Adriano was so nice and his salon was amazing. I vaguely told him what I wanted and he put together an amazing look that fits my face shape and really made my thick hair manageable. My hair was so long it was almost down to my belly button. Adriano cut off a decent amount of hair (with my permission of course) and gave me a fresh cut. He also really focused on the customer, making sure that my sister and I loved our haircuts. Hours before boarding my flight from NY to LA, I did a terrible dye job on my own hair (colored it blue, and then tried to cover the blue up with brown). Specifically I love Douglas's work, he has been treating my hair since the beginning of this year, my hair had terrible chemical damage and he managed to not only fix it but also made it look better and healthier than it ever was before.
