Very nice, new, clean and overall pleasing. Service was great, very attentive. The food is as expected. What does that mean? Well we have been to each of the ones in the area. The Tomball experience being the worst with cold food being served. Literally the meatballs were still cold because they did not microwave them long enough. The one on 45 in Harris county was probably the best experience. This one, well we order food with Italian sausage on it, it was added as an after thought. And. Covered in sauce. Still a microwave product, meaning that in a traditional Sunday gravy, your meat is cooked in the sauce, not microwaved and sauce added to it. An easy to miss spot of the I45 feeder, but missing the turn might be a better option. At least the garlic knots were hot and fresh, adequate but not great; this is also how the waitress was. The real miss was the food. I tried to Alex special after hearing a different (better) waitress mentioning to another table how good it was. Well...it wasn't. The chicken was just not good. Eh. Tasted processed. Cheese bread was good, garlic knots were edible, but tasted previously frozen. Lasagna was bad, bland, and the pasta was a weird texture. Manicotti was ok, but the ricotta was not the best. Cheese ravioli is same as the manicotti--low quality ricotta. Meatballs were tough and had to have been from frozen. I was craving spaghetti and meatballs, and that's exactly what I ordered. First of all, as others have said, the garlic twists are absolutely delicious! They come out warm, soft, and incredibly garlicky. The spaghetti and meatballs were mediocre. The pasta was a good texture, and the flavor of the sauce was nice. But it was a bit watery, and water pooled at the bottom of my dish, which I didn't care for. Also, the meatballs had a heavy bready taste and texture. But the dish did hit the spot and satisfied my craving. Service was expertly efficient, and the dining room was clean and spacious. Today we wanted to give them a 2nd chance and man was THAT a mistake. When we got there, parking lot seemed full, which seemed like a good sign. I guess it was as I'm excited to go back. Nice garlic rolls out as bread. Big and warm and soft. I had some loaded spaghetti (with mushrooms, sausage, big meatball). I'm one of those "I can make pasta at home with Ragu and noodles" but this was pretty tasty. One of my daughters had her favorite, chicken alfredo. She loved it. Another daughter had shrimp alfredo. BIG shrimp. She enjoyed it. Made me wish I'd gotten the shrimp develishina or whatever it's called (with a pink sauce and shrimp over linguini). Other daughter had kid's plate of spaghetti with meatball. She said the meatball was salty. I guess mine kinda was a little but I wouldn't have even noticed if my little wanted hadn't said anything; I liked the meatball and I don't like meatballs typically. And my wife had eggplant parm. She enjoyed that and she's picky. Good ambiance. Clean. Waitstaff was good. Pizza hear looks good and I want to try that other shrimp thing and maybe the Alex Special (chicken with peppers and mushroom and stuff over pasta, I think). Best Italian food I've had in a long while ... and I don't really like Italian restaurants for my aforementioned Ragu comment. LOL. Again, looking forward to going back. First time at Adriatic Cafe, service was very good. I had the mussels with a fra-diavolo sauce and they were excellent. The rolls that they bring as soon as you seat at the table are also very testy. As a main dish I tried the chicken parmigiana and was disappointed. Chicken was hard and not very testy. The side of spaghetti was cooked al dente (which is what I asked for) but the marinara sauce was not as good as the fra-diavolo sauce of the mussels. I will go back to try something else instead of chicken. read more

Stay away from the Veal!! So bad!! Have to compare it to a flip-flop on a plate covered with bland sauce and mozzarella. Wife loved the bread and the caesar salads were fine. But damn that was a nasty plate of food. Will not be returning needless to say. read more

We were extremely dissatisfied this evening (12/27). Our waitress, Mary E., was personable, but not a very effective server. Perhaps she had too much to do. We felt she was not very responsive. We ordered an appetizer; 10 minutes later, she came by to be reminded that we ordered calamari. She never asked if we liked our food. We didn't. The calamari was rubbery. She asked if we wanted more rolls. We said with our meals. They never came. Our meals were not really good. The pasta was mushy-- not al dente, as we prefer. The chicken Siciliano was soupy and too heavily spiced with organo and, otherwise, not very flavorful; the chicken texture was as if it were boiled. The chicken alfredo was the best of the three-- ordered with veggies rather than pasta. The chicken was a bit overcooked. The Alex Special felt like it was overwhelmed by too much sauce. Here, too, the chicken was overcooked, while the sauce was tasty. When Mary brought the check, our guest told her he didn't enjoy his meal. Her reaction was nonresponsive. She was not into asking what was wrong--or if there were anything she could do about it. So it seems like management has not trained staff to try to satisfy customers--or to let management know if there were any issues they might address. We are repeat customers, but we are not likely to return--much less bring a guest to dine there in the future. The night would have been a complete downer had we not enjoyed the bottle of wine we ordered and the rolls. One additional thought: None of the entrees--as plated--looked appetizing (or appealing) as it was presented. For the most part, it looked like the protein was placed on the pasta--and then the sauce was dumped on everything. However, as I observed the portion sizes and the surprisingly low menu prices, I started to have concerns about the food quality. When my wife and I debated our orders, she opted for a chicken prosciutto mozzarella and spinach dish, while I went with pasta Bolognese. Our meals arrived in just 10 minutes, which felt unusually fast for a freshly prepared dish. The plating wasn't particularly appealing, but that wasn't a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was a major disappointment. My wife took one bite of her chicken and immediately suspected it was freezer-burnt. I tried it myself and completely agreed--it was unmistakably freezer-burnt. Additionally, the prosciutto (which should be uncooked) was cooked, and the dish was covered in a yellow sauce that lacked flavor and was overly oily. Before ordering, I had asked our server whether the tortellini was freshly made or sourced externally. He confirmed it was from corporate, which was my second red flag. When I tasted my pasta Bolognese, it was just okay--edible, but far from delicious. The sauce was overwhelmingly garlicky and lacked balance. To top it off, we were served a dipping sauce for the bread that was essentially pure oil and garlic, making it messy and difficult to eat. While the service and atmosphere were excellent, the food quality was severely lacking. If this restaurant focused more on using fresh, high-quality ingredients, it could be a great spot. This is the second time my friend and I have eaten here. We went for lunch and had a nice meal. Our server Cory was excellent. We ordered an appetizer of fried zucchini with marinara sauce. It was very good. Cory also bought us the complimentary garlic rolls. When I asked for the oil and spices to dip the rolls in, Cory pointed out that they now charge $3 . When I told him nevermind, he said he would bring us some without charging for it. The oil really enhanced the flavor of the rolls. I just felt like spaghetti and meatballs, and that's what I ordered. The pasta and sauce were much to my liking ( a little bit of a sweet sauce) , and two good-sized meatballs accompanied the spaghetti. My friend ordered the special calzone. It was huge and filled with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, mozzarella cheese ( he deleted the ricotta cheese). The portions are large and we both could only eat half our meals and took the rest home. The prices are very reasonable. We will be back. read more

The food was bad by all standards! The pasta was over cooked as well as the calamari. When pasta is overcooked it becomes mush. In Italian we call it "stracotto". It becomes had to digest. The same with calamari. It becomes very chewy and gummy. I can not recommend this restaurant that calls itself Italian. read more

The restaurant has a few things to work out to move up in ratings. The quality of the food is OK, but not great. Don't break up your spaghetti please, a rooky mistake. Less sugar in your tomato sauce, needs much more garlic and red pepper. Your dinner rolls are excellent but give us real whipped butter, not those little diner butter things. You salad plates need to be upgraded from plastic and kept cold before serving, salads need to be colder as well. The chicken parm was pretty good but the chicken siciliano did not land well - hard to say what was missing. Everything needed more seasoning, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, etc. But the service was great and the prices are reasonable. The decor is nice, if a bit loud due to all the hard surfaces. Note that the parking lot does NOT connect to any of the other lots to the south so pick your driveway carefully. read more

Meant to stop here for a while, finally dropped in. The driveway is easy to miss and the 45 feeder is like the Indy 500... we actually parked in a strip mall lot and walked over, there was a foot bridge that appeared for that very reason. Place is new, clean. Menu has the usual Italian fare, we were seated in the bar while our server was attentive, she didn't offer suggestions and we didn't ask. My dining partner got the Salmon and veggies and I got the Lasagna. The bread was cold but good, sadly there was no fresh butter rather the type you might get at Super 8 for breakfast. The Peach tea was, well Peach in name only. The salmon was good the veggies were especially good. The Lasagna was fair. Overall with tip of $10 dollars came to $58. Not bad times what they are. Would I go back maybe yes maybe no, it's new so it might have growing pains. Would I recommend it, yes. read more

My friends and I met at Adriatic Cafe last night for dinner. This is a newly opened restaurant and we were all impressed. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. The food was very good. The waitperson brought out delicious breadsticks. The bread was incredibly fluffy and well seasoned with garlic and butter. I ordered the Chicken Sicilianno with artichokes, capers and mushrooms. Short review, great staff nice restaurant, good lunch prices, the food however isn't worth coming back for. Long review: I've come in twice for lunch, both times the service was good. The garlic rolls are very yummy and the highlight of the whole meal. I don't remember the name of the plates I ordered. The first visit I ordered a spaghetti with marinara, veggies, and chicken. It came with a salad. The salad wasn't anything special but it was decent. The entree was big for a lunch portion, and pretty good aside from the chicken. There were a couple of thin, whole chicken breasts in the pasta. The chicken was dry and not good. The rest was good enough that I thought it was just a one off, and I looked forward to going back and trying something else. My second visit I ordered some sort sampler from the lunch menu. I decided to share with my toddler instead of wasting an entire kids meal on her. Unfortunately she can't have dairy so they were very accommodating and allowed me to substitute the manicotti for spaghetti with marinara. I ordered my son mozzarella sticks from the appetizers. The cheese sticks were AWFUL. They tasted freezer burnt and like they were microwaved. My lasagna had an entire bay leaf hidden under the cheese that I bit into and thought was plastic until I spit it out and saw what it was. I don't completely fault them for that. I did think it was odd. The sauce tasted like it was from a can. The lasagna was kind of boring overall. I thought I was just being picky so I moved to try the cheese ravioli. It was terrible. The pasta's texture was over cooked like the lasagna and the cheese was gross. It didn't seem to have anything in it but some funky ricotta (and I like ricotta! This was just gross).
