I have been frustrated with ADT alarm services. We had service at a property in Mesa-az and sold the property, bought and moved to another house in Phoenix. We had a different alarm system and provider in our new home. I called them last year to terminate our services and they told us that our contract was still running until Oct 2026. I will have an early termination penalty. I keep the service until 4/25 that the house was sold. Transfer the service to our new address and new equipment until we decide about the termination of the contract. Call them again and decided to terminate the contract, pay the early termination of $350 and return the new equipment. They did not wanted the old one back. Took me 1.20 hrs in the phone, 6 different people, each one has to hear my history and explanations. Finally, "labels for my returning equipment should be in my email with 30 minutes ". Never happpen. Call the following day, another 1.25 hrs in the phone, 5 different people, tell my history, repeat myself over and over until the frustration got heard by the last person and I got my labels and return my equipment. Customer service needs to be train. Keep notes if what's going on with the clients so, left hand knows what right hand is doing! No wonder why people are been replaced by robots and virtual services because it was worst than that. People (humans) do not want to work, efficiently and above and beyond anymore. Customers frustration is not a big deal! You are stuck, pay the bill and " I am sorry about that", it's all you hear but doesn't resolve the problem. read more

DO NOT USE ADT!!!! Service is garbage. They tell you 59.00 to come out too fix doorbell camera. I asked the ADT rep over the phone multiple times that $59.00 is the only charge. He said yes. I agreed too have tech come out. He comes out and before doing anything, tells me its going too be $230.00. I said no, thats not what the adt phone rep told me. He implies that he gets this issue alot. I call in too cancel, and speak with an Account "manager" named Mia. She promises me the world, 5 yrs locked in price of 45.00 (lowered from $65.00/month), cover camera fees, cover tech fees, discount on new cameras, no payments for 2 months,extra 10% off. I said no. Do yourself a favor and call your local alarm companies. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Just know that they can lower the price if they really wanted too but wont until you call in and speak your mind. read more

When comes to customer service they are not the greatest. The cameras are horrible. They will not fix the without a trip fee of $59. They are WiFi only. They don't record important information. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Don't sign up with ADT .they trick you ,they do a half ass installment. Qouted me 50 a month and paid tripple.called and talked with management and never got anything,cameras work half way decent. I had this service for years and all my cameras were outdated and were difficult to see and after years of payments they would not come out an updated them. Then my alarm went off one night and they didn't even call the police to come check it out. do not use this company at sign up. They quoted me 48 months now they are charging me 60 months. I cannot get out of this contract. You cannot get any help if you call them. It takes at least an hour and then your problem is not resolved. poor customer service poor communication equipment never works. I am very unhappy with this company. Lots of contradictions. ADT - do better with customer service You had our business, until you proved your customer service is lacking! I fully appreciate your employees caring about each other's commission and ensuring they all get their share of commissions and I appreciate how nice all your reps are.... but when your employees make a customer fully aware that their commission is more important that the customer needs you have a problem. A customer should NOT have to go through 1 hour of hold time, speak to 5 reps with MAYBE a total of 20 minutes speaking time to get the full cost of their equipment before install. A customer should not have to wait until the install to find out how much their system is going to cost. Your policies are guided to help your commission employees more than your customer. Your policies give me the impression of "strong arm techniques" because you know people are less likely to cancel when the tech is there in person. You are not giving your customers the best care you can. Your employees were so concerned with the install tech getting commission from sales that they were basically refusing to give me the full equipment total, because, and I quote directly from the initial sales rep, "I intentionally leave items off the system so that the install tech can earn commission selling it to you". (this rep left off 11 items @ $50 each and 1 item at $200 each - so it wasn't a small amount). I was later told this rep should not have presented it to me that way and reworded it to sound better, but still said the same thing. And this wasn't just that employee, because the next 4 reps I spoke with chose to transfer me to another tech or just transfer me back to the menu. The 5th rep was finally able/willing to get me the numbers I needed, but they had to cancel my previous quote and start over including credit check and obtaining my payment method. By that point I was so stressed that I just cancelled the whole install. If this was the level of stress I had to go through BEFORE install, I was afraid what kind of stress I would have to go through for service calls or anything else. ADT, at the end of the day, your pricing and equipment cost is basically the same as your competitors. Customers are likely deciding between you and another company based on your equipment being "google" and your customer service. You lost a customer because you made me feel 2nd to commission. You made the customer feel like employee commission was more important than customer care. Maybe just pay your employees better and then your customer service can improve. read more

Cancelled my service after 6 years over the phone. The rep said Nothing to me about a Cancellation fee. Now they are saying it's in the contract that whenever you cancel their service, they sock you with a big charge (almost $500.00). After 6 years, the old equipment is long paid for. This company is scamming the public with their ridiculous contract, similar to a commercial trash disposal company contract, but I had their service at my small house. Do not get involved with ADT. Their service is very poor and after completing my 2 year contract they refuse to honor my cancellation request. Their acct mgt office, Stacy, she said they would not allow cancellation until I gave them a 15 minute exit interview. I told that I am going to a meeting and don't have the and just cancel. She refused to cancel and she asked me to call back when I was available to offer 15 minutes of my time. Note I have been trying to cancel my contract since early September and every time they instructed to call back at the office in late October. I did and they still refused to accept my cancellation. I called the number on my ADT app and after 45 minutes I was told to call the main number again. I did and no answer.ADT IS VERY DISHONEST AND NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. To everyone out there, think twice before accepting their service. To date no one has called me and no one will honor my cancellation request. Absolutely do NOT use ADT. I rolled an old contract over due to our HOA no longer covering the monthly. Unbeknownst to me- never discussed, upon reactivation and signing the new contract agreeing to cover payment, I agreed to a $1,000 cancelation fee. My ADT home alarm is old, service tech informed me that I should update old technology. Scheduled a service appointment with ADT. I received a notification from ADT confirming appointment. Waited home 4 hour block, ADT was a NO-SHOW! I called customer service, they rescheduled work 2 weeks later. Again, I received confirmation for second appointment. Waited home again for ADT technician, 4 hour window. ADT Home Security BLEW ME OFF A SECONT TIME! No call or contact to inform me of cancellation, just blew me off. I called ADT to complain about being blown off twice. I was informed that ADT is "short staffed". Been a faithful customer for 14 years, I'm told home security needs updated, yet ADT employees do not communicate in a timely or professional manner! They just try to sell you their service, which has no customer service and they forced us to sign contract without finishing setting up. After contract signing we have 3 days to cancel... guess what, we did not realize we did not like their half butts service until 1week later, when the technician cam back to finish setting up. They said their dashboard will have upgrades to include videos when somebody ring bell within 2-3 months after service activate... guess what, nothing happened. If we cancel after the 3 days period, we would have to pay them 70% of the 3 yrs contract cost, which is ~ $1700 They charged so high for the service and tricked you all the way to get your money. I have an outdated smarthome service from ADT and half butt system installation from them (not all of my home is "protected" since they could not install some system). If I could give 0 stars, I would! What a complete and total SCAM! We waited for our contract to expire, to call and cancel our service, which we disconnected almost a year ago! We moved from a house to an apartment, and the system is not compatible with our wifi/internet. We called to let them know, and they switched us to Blue by ADT. Still didn't work. We disconnected that, and continued to make the monthly payments, for a service we weren't using. We find out that when you switch to blue, you are no longer under a contract, and it's just month to month service. We call to cancel a few days ago, and are told that they actually started our contract over again, for 36 months, and to cancel, we will have to pay $700! Trying to talk to these people is a nightmare. They are rude, they talk down to you, and have the gall to say that we should try to find a friend or neighbor to take over the contract! I said, do not patronize me or speak to me like I am stupid! We are no longer under contract, once you switched us to blue! I asked for a manager, and was denied, being told that I had no grounds to cancel, and this did not warrant an escalation to a superior! Long story short, we are locked in to a 36 month contract, unbeknownst to us! She tried to quote the contract page, and I simply told her that I did not give 2 SHITS what the contract states, and that they need to follow their own regulations, and that I also have rights as a consumer, who is being scammed! All we can do now is stop all payments. Let them throw me into collections! I will sue them! Stay as far away from this scam company as you can. Those flyers in the newspaper? They aren't ADT at all. It's a side company, who works for ADT, so when you call ADT, they have no transactions or notes for the company pretending to be ADT, to refer to. He arrived on time, efficiently installed the service, educated us on how to operate the keypad and was professional and friendly. We will ask for him if we need assistance in the future. Do not sign up with ADT. They contract out their installation service and knowingly allow their contractors to cheat and con customers. BEWARE to NOT sign up with ADT and its contractor, Defender Security dba Protect Your Home. ADT has no recourse. PYH is a crooked company and force prematurely to sign contract before system review and tedting. My tech, Steve, and tech supervisor Raul will not complete job and respond. Review ALL online reviews. All very true. AVOID at all cost to save on being swindled. Why is ADT still doing business with PYH and Defenders Security? I think it is disgraceful that ADT chooses money over good business ethics. Shameful. US AG and Arizona AG need to do some serious investigations into this company. Absolutely horrendous and disgusting business practice. Reply to ADT: Regardless whether Defenders Security Dba PYH is your only or one of many authorized dealers. ADT authorized their use of your brand and to gain consumer trust using your brand. ADT's knowledge and continuous renewal of your authorized partnership is a blatant disregard of customers who relied on ADT name and quite frankly a Co conspirator of the endorsement of the crooked business practice. Very poor service from your company. Had our install this last Saturday. Paid 2,700 for installation and the equipment. Within the first 3 hours we realized while testing everything that the tech never hooked up the sensors to 3 windows. So we have 3 unprotected windows. Later the same night we were woken up to the control panel beeping that it's battery was low. An hour later we were woken up again to the control panel saying cellular failure. About a day later that control panel fell off the wall and was hanging by its wires. No one ever called from ADT about our system faults. If your not monitoring the faults I doubt your monitoring when there is a break in, fire, or medical emergency. We were surprised to get this lack of service from ADT I feel we will be having them remove everything and I can install my own system that will probably work better. read more

I spent $3000.00 and signed a non-refundable 3 year contract at $53/month. Once you pass the three day rescind period, and you have not cancelled the contract, despite health emergencies, they will not allow you out of their contract. Adt no call no showed to relocate service to my new house. They never called to apologize or reschedule. They then took over $940.00 from my account and will not refund me my money. My Fiancé and I got Military orders to move from AZ to Alaska and when I called ADT to cancel my services they said they would not honor the orders because we were not married right now. I advised them we were getting married Dec 2 2021, and that we had no idea that we would be moving from AZ to Alaska. The gentlemen stated we were in contract for another two years and we could pay close to $600.00 to cancel the remaining of the contract or could get new services at our new address but would have to restart a new contract and pay fees for the install. I asked him if we paid until December and once we were married would they honor the Military orders then the gentlemen said no because we are moving before we are getting married. I think this is ridiculous and we really do not want to work with a business that do not honor military orders. read more

I had made a complaint here and ADT responded saying they would contact me. Never did. I have been with them since they obtained the two previous security monitoring companies I had. This young man (late 20s to 30s) long red hair about 6' showed up at my door without wearing a mask and wanted to sell me ADT services. I told him my roommate who's the owner was asleep and was not available. He asked if I could grab him and I said no, as he didn't want to be disturbed. He then started being pushy and I asked him to leave me his card. He then told me there's no point and it would be wasting the card...long story short, I had to finally close the door on him. He was pushy, confrontational and disrespectful. If he wants to make a sale he needs to be better trained. read more

Worst customer service! I have ADT Pulse. The cameras constantly freeze up on my phone and often I can't get their system to log in. I have surveillance for a serious matter. My cameras did not work for almost 24 hours and as a result I was not made aware of a bad situation until a day later when my system finally worked and I was finally able to view videos while away. I made an appointment for an agent to come out. ADT could not have anyone come for a week and gave me a window one week later from 12-5PM. I had to take off work to wait for an agent to come to my home only to be contacted at 4:30PM to advise their agent couldn't come and that I now have to wait from 5:00-8:00PM ( after waiting 5 hours)! Their service and product are awful. If the internet goes down your surveillance does not work. This company does not take safety seriously, their product does not work properly, and their customer service is horrible. Do not use this company. I do not feel safe nor that I matter as a customer. I've been a good paying customer for 3 years. That ends today. read more

Second frustration with ADT: I informed ADT that I am moving from my home which I had sold, on April 28 2019. I was not allowed to cancel my subscription saying that I had signed a 3 year contract, so I asked them to hold my payment until I purchase a new home and move in. I purchased my new home in June and called ADT to relocate my equipment to the new house. A sales agent came to meet me at my new home and said they couldn't move that equipment and offered to install new equipment at an extra cost of $400 and a new 3 year contract. He sent me a contract to sign that stated that my old subscription will be canceled once I sign the new subscription. So, now I either get a new contract and pay so much more for new equipment or they continue to withdraw money from my account for services not rendered. So far, my account has been debited in May and in June despite the fact that I don't live there. This is called arm twisting customers into spending more money!! I don't know what to do! read more
