My boyfriend and I brought our bike here to have a broken foot peg fixed, new farrings put on, and…read moreto get some new sprockets. Our appointment was on June 1st, 2021. The positives were the owner did come and get the bike instead of us having to tow it and did a fantastic job on the gear work. However, the negatives FAR out shined those two positives. As I mentioned, we had an appointment on 6/1/21, but we did not get the bike back until almost 6 weeks later. And the only reason we got it back then was my boyfriend took it upon himself to get a part that was "back ordered" that the owner could not get. My boyfriend had to make no more than 5 calls to have that part shipped to him in a weeks timeframe. The owner was also going to leave the bike with a broken windshield even though it had brand new farrings as "that was going above budget" and then tried tried to charge $300+ above the new agreed upon price. When my boyfriend picked up the bike, he had noticed damage to the bike that was NOT there before hand. A ripped front seat, missing screw cover, and bolts and chain that were brand new and now rusted from the bike being LEFT OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN (it was verified to be left outside because when my boyfriend went to check on the bike weeks earlier, it was outside with no protection). I am definitely not one for leaving negative reviews, but this shop actually did damage to the bike with no apology or explanation. DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE HERE. We have told all our friends and families that have bikes about this experience. Save yourself time and potential problems by finding a different "hometown" mechanic.

We call this place Amcon in town because that is what the signage says. I do not know if they were a Conoco station, are a Conoco station and Amcon is a subsidiary of Conoco but the markings and coloring is the same. I didn't add this place, it was already on Yelp. I thought I had this place added as Amcon a long time ago. I also recall taking pictures of the place. Inside is a tiny store with an attached auto repair center with 2 bays. They also have a car wash here. We had stopped by to drop off used oil from oil changes that I did myself, they take it for free. They have an Oil recycling station inside the shop that you can poor it into. The people seem friendly here and the gas prices are in-line with other stations.

So here's the problem. We stopped at this station on a return from Rochester so I could top off my…read moretank, and my wife could use the restroom. I pumped about $22.00 worth of gas (about 11gallons), charged to my Amex account and continued on the way. The following day, I opened my Amex app and discovered a $100 charge pending from Farmington Amcon. I called the number provided and spoke with Mike who said he was allowed by Minnesota law to charge this amount because he isn't open 24 hours. I told him that was ridiculous. I admit I was very angry, and maybe out of line, but in all my years with American Express (since 1987) never has this happened. Mike told me to call my credit card company, so I did. When I spoke with the representative at American Express, she said they have received reports of this happening across the US, but it is illegal to charge more than the purchase amount in any transaction. So, she suggested I wait for 24 hours and recheck if the correct amount is posted; i.e., $22 is posted! All I can say is I will never, never do any business with this place ever again
