As I was waiting in line to make an exchange the employee was talking extremely inappropriately about women to the customer in front of me . I Fully expect the business to dispute this, Review my other reviews and you will see that most of my reviews are actually positive. Of course due to my various health conditions and the pandemic, I haven't been able to post many lately. I have gone to discount and subsequently advance since the late '80s. I was concerned when advance bought out discount, but I was very pleased that I continued to receive the same great service and quality Products at reasonable prices. For the first time ever, I brought something back for a refund today. The gentleman that had greeted me and offered to help, immediately said (in a louder voice, apparently so the manager would hear) ' well that's going to require a managers approval'. I explained that the two items do not work to my satisfaction. One was supposed to bring back the shine on dull paint, And the other on black plastic trim. I explained but I had follow directions and got zero improvement on the pain in the first 2' x 2' square. And as for the product, That was supposed to help with the finish on the black plastic, it actually made it worse. He responded by explaining that all I could get would be a store credit, rather than a refund. I pointed out to him that I had only used a tiny amount of each product, that I had purchased the day before. I was dissatisfied with the results and was unaware of that return policy. He explained that was all he can do, and pointed out that it wasn't like he could sell them to anybody else. I offered to give them $20, if he could tell where I could use the product on the paint, pointing out the car was outside. I had gotten ZERO improvement. I said I guess it is my mistake, for not reading their return policy. So I agreed to take the store credit. When he put the information in for return of the two items he then told me I would have to put my credit card in. I said "I thought you said I could only get a store credit?" He replied "well that's what the computer is telling me to do. I Have to do what it says". I put my card in and got my refund. He said ' are you going to try to buy something different? I said if I do, it'll be at Another auto parts, because I won't be back here. He said 'why not, you got your refund? And they're not gonna have any different products there?' I said "YOU told me I could not get a refund that I could only get a store credit". It was only thanks to the computer, that I got my refund, apparently against his will. I said that it was because of that, but I would not be going back to another advance again. It's a shame that after decades, I tried to return two items and was treated to a lecture about why I cannot receive a refund. After going to my car I've looked at my receipts, and saw no mention Of the return policy. I don't recall seeing a sign that said all sales are final, or refunds only by store credit. He tried not to give me a refund, and didn't value my business! read more

Just want to thanks to the two gentlemen on duty at the San Jose, Jacksonville location on Monday, January 4th. I came in for a battery and in about 20 minutes they had checked the old battery, put in a new one and had me checked out with a 10% discount to boot. Maybe it's a guy thing, or maybe it was his age, but I have never in my life have I ever been treated as rudely as I was by the sales clerk there today. My car battery died down the street, with a bad cell, so jumping and charging it would be a bandaid at the most. So my friend (who happens to be a guy) picks me up and we go in. The clerk (Chester was his name) would not even make eye contact with me. The whole entire time, he directed his questions to my friend, even though I was answering all his questions. He just kept asking the same questions until my friend answered. Now, just because I didn't happen to be born with a penis doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about and what I want, especially since it's my bloody car! The final straw, I paid with my own bloody card, but who does he try to hand it off to? You guessed it. The guy. Handed me my receipt, spoke to me like I didn't know anything about warranties and said bye to my friend. Normally I like Advanced. Purchased oil and filter for my new Camaro. When I got to a point of pouring new oil in fill I realized the oil was used. Somebody had placed old oil in the container and put it back on the shelf and I had purchased it. When i went back to the store to have it replaced Cedric accused me of returning old oil that I had just removed from my vehicle. I couldnt believe it and lost my cool. I am still quite angry at my integrity being questioned. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I went across the street to Autozone and purchased a new jug. Short, sweet, to the point! I walked in with 2 employees at the counter saw me walk in no greeting or a can I help you anything. I walked around in circles finally found the one item I needed. Went to checkout and the guy says says "Do you need help?" I've been playing ring around the store while you watch and you now ask me that? I tell him " I just need to purchase this" as he was ringing me up the phone rang and the guy next to him started laughing as the person checking me out put the caller on hold. The person laughing decided to tell everyone there that a lady called a couple of times and got upset she kept getting put on hold and said she needed help pronto it was an emergency. He then continued to laugh as he said " I told her whatever hold...Tahahaha". What? WTF? That is so very rude and this tool thinks it's the funniest thing ever! I said "Wow that's not nice" he said "Excuse me" I said "You heard me...NOT NICE!" I then took my receipt and left and will never return.
