This place has good deals but a bad service can take me out of businesses. I order simple oil to do my oil change and every question I asked this sales representative was giving me such a bad attitude I can tell how angry he was getting for no reason. In fact, his manager was so nice "Chris" that he did everything it took for me to stay and buy at the store instead of somewhere else. I usually go to AutoZone down the street because the service is better. I walk in guy has a nonchalant, non helpful tone, he tells me (not walk me to the part) and then tells me I'm looking at all we got. im telling I can't find it. meanwhile he's spinning the rack that has different stuff. I told him the clips are on the rack to the right and he throw his hands up and walks away. same thing earlier on the phone lady answers and says "omgggg" all annooyed and puts my on hold before I even come in or anything. On top of that thy didn't have the clip I needed and did let give options to help out. this place sucks. I went in to buy Low Beam headlight bulbs H3 9006 and there was none on the sales floor so I asked one of the employees if they had any but he told me H4 9006 would fit. I went by his word, bought the bulbs that cost me $61 and they didn't fit into my car's headlight. I went to return them and he said I wouldn't be able to because the package was opened. He did not let us know about the return policy but how else was I supposed to take the bulb out of the package to see if they fit my headlight? That's on him for giving me the wrong ones saying they would fit. I went to Autozone across the street, bought the correct ones and their employee said I SHOULD be able to return them to Advanced Auto Part knowing that the guy gave me the wrong size. Went in today to order some towels, because no shop carries them. The guy told me he could no order anything to that shop, which makes no sense. The website and the woman I talked to on the phone said I could. Then he tried to sell me a drying towel they had there and I said no I needed that brand because it's higher quality. Then he kept trying to sell me glass cleaning towels, after I told him I didn't need glass cleaning towels. He kept pushing those towels saying but the price, then I had explain to him the gsm of glass towels won't dry a car they will scratch it. He then gave smart ass comments to his co-workers saying stuff like "he knows, he details cars." I guess he is just mad because he works some dead end job while I have my own company and make $500-1000 a week for 12-20 hours of work. Side note, Zach (or Zack) is a fantastic employee! He has given me a lot of help and we have had some good conversations! Unfortunately Auto Zone is across the street, it's bigger, cleaner, and everyone is friendly so I won't be returning. Yes it's much bigger and cleaner, at advanced auto parts it's all crammed together so it's hard to find anything or move around, it's all gross inside and not neat, and not the mention the floor isn't even close to level. Save yourself the trouble and just go to Auto Zone! May pay a dollar or two more here and there but it's worth it, at least in Leesburg. P.s. I have gone into this and other advanced auto parts stores before and they have ordered products to their store for me. read more

Advance Auto Parts saved my day today! I woke up with a dead battery and unable to even pop the hood! My mother and I went here to purchase jumper cables and the gentleman (can't remember his name, unfortunately) sold us the cables and gave us fantastic advice to pop the hood! It worked!! We were able to jump the car and bring it back to them for a free battery test and installation. Johnathan did the installation and gave me a great expert opinion on another issue I was having with my car. In less than an hour my day went from hopeless to a complete success! The service here can not be beat! Car problems are the worst, and they went above and beyond for me! The best part was they did it all with a smile! I've only had to go there twice to get stuff for my MINI. Last week, I had a brake light go out & stopped in for a replacement. The guys were soooo helpful and replaced the bulb for me. The first time I stopped by was to try and loosen the license plate holder from the rear. We weren't successful that time, but the young man gave it 110% his all to pry that thing off. I stopped by to purchase a control arm for my vehicle at around 630pm on September 6th. The two guys working there were very friendly and they knew what they were doing. I stopped in this morning to buy a new car battery. With the "free battery test" I was told it wasn't my battery and it was something what car related. Thanks to that useless person,I ended up at a dealer hoping my warranty would cover the problem. Turns out, it was the battery. The $150 fix is now costing over $300. I won't be back. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Where do I start. I came to advanced auto parts to order a replacement mirror for my vehicle which was broken while the vehicle was parked in a business parking lot. The sales person stated he did not have the replacement mirror in stock but would order it and it would arrive on September 13. On September 13, my wife went stopped by with the receipt in order to pick up the replacement mirror. The sale person stated that the mirror had already been picked up. My wife informed the sales person that I was out of the country on a trip and no one had come to pick up the replacement mirror. After some searching it was later found in the back. My wife then asked the sale person if someone could install it for her. The sales person's response was "why can't your husband do it?". My wife informed the sales person that I was out of the country (in Iraq on a TDY) and she would appreciate any assistance they could provide installing the mirror. The sales person contacted someone in the back and a gentleman agreed to install the mirror. After going out to the car, my wife discovered that the wrong item had been ordered. Of course the sales person blamed me for giving the wrong information even after i gave them the make, model, year, type of vehicle, and even walked them outside to show them the vehicle. My wife asked for a refund on the mirror replacement and was told they would only refund the cost minus shipping even though it was advanced auto parts fault the wrong part was ordered. I will never use this place again and will inform everyone I know to avoid as well. Poor customer service and rude employees. read more

I called Advance Auto and told them I was on my way to them. The gentleman who came out to my vehicle was very knowledgable & immediately tested my battery, the reading was low so he proceeded to take care of the problem . Car had been sitting for 6 months. Had it jumped and started with no problem until I shut it off. Made it over here to auto zone and they were great. Brought out some equipment and tested the battery and alternator. Both read good. I just need to drive a bit more to fully charge the battery that's at 89%. After a SALES AGENT looked up the headlight bulbs i needed for my car, I realized the base was wrong after I got home and had already opened the package. Since i had used rubber gloves as recommended, I knew the bulbs would be fine. When i went to return them, the manager told me of a new policy that prohibits them from exchanging the bulbs since the package was opened. When I told him that was new to me as I've been buying headlight bulbs / car supplies here for years, he told me it was a new policy. When I mentioned the fact that there were no signs indicating this policy and that the sales agent who looked up the bulb type for me, never mentioned the new policy, he pointed me to a large yellow sign filled with small print that allegedly mentioned the new policy along with a ton of other stuff. Yeah, I didn't see a need to spend 20 minutes reading a sign in the middle of the store when all i needed were headlight bulbs which I've bought many times here before. Who reads those signs anyway. Well, the sales agent never bothered to tell me that either! Now I'm stuck with $45 Headlight bulbs i can't use. Being stuck with useless light bulbs and a manager who blamed me, I will NEVER buy from this store again. read more

I was blown away by their customer service. My battery completely died in the below freezing temperatures, and AAA could not jump my car. My ONLY option was to have AAA tow me to Advance and have the battery replaced. As my car was being loaded up, I knew we would not make it to Advance before they closed so I called ahead. I bought the battery over the phone, paid for it, and let them know we were on the way and we would get there minutes after they closed. When we pulled up, two employees (Kenny and Jonathan) were waiting with the battery (in the FREEZING cold). They installed it in my car, made sure my car started appropriately and it did not seem to be a burden to them at all. Again, freezing temperatures and when they were supposed to be going home - I will ALWAYS go back to this location. They saved the day! read more

I went in to ask to borrow some tools if they had some laying around so I could fix it. The store manager, Charlie, lent me his personal tools. Terrible returning experience. After installing a failed alternator, I returned to the store and purchased another alternator, of the same type. Again, soon after installation, it failed. I returned to the store, hoping to simply get a money return for my purchase. The manager, who was working the counter at the time, told me that he could not give me a monetary return, only an exchange for another one of their alternators. The alternators were all previous failures, why would I want to try another? Instead, all I ended up with was an unpleasant conversation with the manager, no money back, and being stuck with a broken alternator. Horrible customer service, never returning. read more
