I am writing this review about my Local Advanced Auto Parts in Ashland City Tennessee. The staff is great there and goes above and beyond for the customer needs. It can be very frustrating to have a broken vehicle, but they somehow always help to make it less stressful just by a friendly smile, and professionalism that is second to none. However, the greatest reason I "only" buy and will continue to "only" buy my parts at this specific store is their involvement and support of the community. It is normal to see the girl scouts selling cookies in the parking lot/side walk or fundraising car washes for "ALL" the schools in the area for band, wrestling, football etc... and that is why I only spend my money at this Advanced because if they are gracious and committed enough too invest in the kids and community then by all means I am grateful and committed enough to support them. Not only other Auto parts stores could learn from their actions but other businesses could as well. If you are a higher end corporate representative and you are reading this review then I encourage you to reach out to "ALL" the workers at this store location as they are excellent representatives of this company and deserve some praise and the same friendly smile, kind words and support they give this community and their customers day in and day out!! My battery died and I ended up here. By far the nicest people I've ever encountered. There was a lady with locs and an older gentleman that changed it out for me. They are polite, didn't take too long and had me back In the road in no time. I'm big on professionalism, kindness and people just being nice and polite. Very under motivated staff. Was not busy at all when when we walked in, my husband had to prompt someone for help. They offer to check and change out your battery for free, he never checked my battery, had to have his boss reprimand him in front of us that he did not. We purchased the battery without him making sure if he could install for free or not. He literally acted like he did not even know how to be around a car, my husband had to help him with tools. He acted like he did not know how to take the old one off. Every idiot can you tube how to clean off the battery attachments and take off the corrosion of the old battery, and he had all the tools to do it but only tried one and fumbled like he had never done it before. Do I blame him, no, I blame the staff that did not come out and help him when they were clearly not busy and not train him well enough to carry out a service they offer. I almost kept it and we would just put in ourselves, buy we decided to return it because the whole idea was based on what they offered on the sign, to change it out for us for free. They were cordial about returning it and offered places open still that could help, but that was after we had shown frustration. I got stuck FAR from home with a car that would not start. The guys at Advanced were super helpful in trying to get me back on the road. Chip gave me a hand trying to jump the battery; that didn't work because the battery was bad (but still helpful in diagnosing the problem). They had a new battery in stock and that fixed the issue. The bottom line is that AAP went above and beyond to help and for that I am very grateful. read more

The manager went out of his way to personally deliver an oil filter, not once, but twice, when they sold me the wrong one. My car was apart and I couldn't go back to the store. Excellent customer service! read more

This place has improved GREATLY under the new GM's leadership (Sergio). Went in today to get a new battery and he is awesome! Goes out of his way to help and excellent customer service. Terrible customer service , if things aren't going their way they just hang up , after going to autozone I'm completely satisfied, don't waste your time with these people , they will be super cooperative while trying to sell you something , but if you need to bring it back or have covered under warranty, you'll see a different side. read more

Usually greeted by friendly folks good deals and they price match the competition every time I visit the store it seems professionally run and clean they usually have the parts I need or they will order them in in a reasonable amount of time I've only had one bad experience out of maybe 30 read more

Because the employees at the Advance Auto Parts store where I lived in Florida were so helpful, I always go to them when I need batteries, wiper blades, pretty much anything for my vehicles. I went to the Donelson Pike store today for a new battery. Not only did they replace it for me, they very graciously and generously helped me troubleshoot an unforseen problem with the vehicle that popped up. It wouldn't start, even with a new battery. Leo was especially helpful, sharing all his knowledge and expertise with my particular model of truck. It's so refreshing to have folks like these. The vehicle finally started, so a happy ending, but I can't thank Leo and the staff there enough for helping me endure a long, stressful day. read more

The last three times I have gone in there have been for either tiny purchases or to have a battery charged, or things of slightly tedious nature. They're always kind, cool, and not condescending which is the best. They're great. read more

I have never experienced worse customer service! My car wouldn't start, so I needed to purchase a new battery. I had chose to go to Advance because AutoZone was quite busy. I will never make that mistake again. I'd wait hours at AutoZone to never have to step foot in this Advance Auto Parts store again. Upon walking in the door, we were never greeted (no big deal), but I stood in front of the batteries for at least 10 minutes before the guy at the battery counter even asked if we were gonna buy a battery. As soon as I said that I needed to purchase a battery because mine was dead, the guy that was a few registers down yelled out that they weren't installing them. I had never asked them to do that. I am very capable of changing a car battery myself. I just needed to purchase a battery and they wouldn't even assist me with that! After we walked out of the store, I got in my car and it wouldn't start because my battery was dead! While my friend was jump starting my car, the guy that had asked if I was gonna buy a battery walked out of the store to assist a guest with her windshield wipers. They can't assist me with a battery purchase, but they can install windshield wipers? All I needed to do was buy a battery. Although the price at AutoZone was a little more, the guys there were amazing! They held the door open for us, made sure they had what I needed in stock and installed my battery for me--far better customer service. Advance should look into hiring people that are a little more customer service oriented. read more
