We pulled up to Advanced Auto but had to leave the car running because we had just jump started the car. The battery was dead, and my wife who had already done all the research for the new battery went into get a new one. She was the only person when she walked in, but the associate with the oxygen tank started taking customers behind her and said it would be a while before he could come out to assist her. We pulled the car to the curb and popped the trunk hood as he suggested. Shortly afterwards he comes out to the car where he see's me inside and starts questioning my wife about why I was just sitting in the car not helping her. He then starts yelling at me for not helping her, and walks back in the store never to return. As if I had a spare battery and a tool kit in my lap. Tomorrow I'm gonna go buy new wiper blades and make him install them just to be petty. J/K read more

My, my-,my how things have changed! Since June 2013 I have spent $1,000.00's of my hard earned dollars at Advance Auto Parts . The Odenton store was my primary location. But all that has changed- not for the best. I read the recent reviews, all of them and a disturbing pattern leaps forward. The lack of professionalism, courtesy, respect and attention to detail. So at 17:00 - In need of a part I called and " Tony " answered, then asked me to wait. He simply put the phone down, 2 minutes, 4 minutes . I could hear " Tony " waiting on multiple customers... 6 minutes .something humorous as people laugh. 7 minutes...I start yelling in the phone "Hello ,Hello "...9 minutes, then 10. " Tony " I want to say thank you because I will patronize all of your competition...You don't care ,so why should I ? read more

I look at Advance Auto Parts as a place to go to take care of your car care needs. "Your car care needs." This is not a place to be used as a replacement for your auto dealership or an actual auto service center. I think if anyone is expecting these guys to fix your car then you have rocketed this place to another level. I go to this place for simple things that I can do myself. Things from wipers, batteries, bulbs, and fluids. Basically things I can do myself. They have always had what I needed for my vehicle and they have good deals. The deals actually get better if you are part of the Advance Auto Speed Perks program that gives you coupons and they offer a 10% military discount. Also there are discounts offered through various credit card companies. No issues from this place as my expectations are not set high in them to completely fix a major vehicle issue if one arises. Never had an issue coming here until today. I haven't been treated with this much lack of concern or care in forever. I spent over a hour in this store simply trying to get a battery replaced. After I purchased the battery, the general manager Tony kept telling his employee to wait to install my battery and help other customers who arrived after me when there were 2-3 associates in the store helping. I waited and waited until a customer who saw the mistreatment, took it upon himself to try and install my battery himself. Then Tony comes out to help and tells me he can't get the old battery out without even trying and says I need to go somewhere else and pay to get my battery replaced and bring the old one back to him. I got a refund and will never ever be back. read more

The person I spoke to on the phone was very unhelpful about my battery issue, but I'm so glad I came in the next day and got help in person from Dave! The one year old battery in my Corolla was not holding a charge - Dave explained their procedure for determining whether it qualified for a warranty replacement and walked me through the test. When the test did not return a defective result, he did not stop there - he told me they could try charging it and seeing if that helped. He took it out of my car and brought it into the store to charge it. An hour later the battery was charged up and I haven't had an issue since. Dave was great, explaining things clearly, every step of the way. I really appreciated that he took the time! read more

I recently went to store #09001, and asked the knowledgeable staff on a good finish/polish I can put on my black rims for my vehicle. Steve S. said that Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish would be the best fit for the job. I bought the product for $10, and went home to finish detailing my vehicle. I did a test of the product on one spot and it ate away the black finish on my rim down to the steel base. I tried to return the product after using it for that one spot and was told tough luck, that since it was opened they couldnt give a refund. The lack of knowledge of products being sold at the establishment and customer service proved enough for me not to return along with permanent damage to my rim. Thank you for your time and I hope return/refund policy is reviewed for future customers. If you value your vehicle, be careful. The staff is not knowledgeable and dont have any sort of drive or work ethic. I am in the beginning stages in restoring a vehicle, and I know I wont go near that store for any further assistance or products. read more

I have been in this store more times than I can count. Most of the time I pick up small things- car cleaning items, wipers, batteries, etc. More specialized items I'll order online and have them shipped in store or preferably to my house. I stopped by recently to return a part I ordered online and didn't end up needing. I handed the employee the receipt and part. He looks around completely baffled. After attempting to reach his manager, he tries a return. No good. We look at the receipt and it says you can return the part at any advance auto parts store. He tells me I can come back the next day when the manager is around, during hours most normal people work. Why it is so difficult to return an unused part is beyond me. I may end up eating the cost or going to the one in Pasadena rather than dealing with this location again. read more

My personal experience was with the manager, who quickly and courteously tested my battery and installed a new one. He was clearly very busy but still seemed to value my time. Looking at these other reviews, I may have been lucky to interact with him instead of someone else. read more

The folks here are rude and unhelpful. I'm not sure if they really want people to come in and buy anything. Not only was the fella rude, but he was pushy about getting my personal information. Then he tried to charge more than he should have. I walked out and drove 5 miles to buy the same item at Auto Zone. read more

On January 30th, 2016 I purchased a 5-qt container of Castrol GTX synthetic blend motor oil for high mileage engines, along with a Fram oil filter. The total was a bit over $37. I thought I had seen a sale sticker for $23.99 but the place was crowded so I went home; it's close. I went online when I got home and confirmed there was a sale on for the exact same oil + one Purolator oil filter, all for $23.99. So I went back to the store. The clerk processed the refund for the original purchase with no problem. However, when he entered the new sale, it now totaled a little over $40! He confirmed there was a sale on, but then pointed out the "fine print" on the ad: good for oil filters up to $5.99 in value. The one I needed (their cheapest ) cost $7.99. So I said, the filter will only cost me $2, then, right? He replied that when the priced exceeded the disclaimer, the full purchase price applied. OK, fine. I'm not happy but I'll pay full price for the filter. So the oil is only $23.99, right? No. Full retail price applies. I walked away. This is both misleading and a classic case of bait-and-switch, in my opinion. Get the customer in the store with an advertised sale that can't be done. I offered to put the oil and filters back on the shelves, 'cause I'm a nice guy. As I did so, I scanned the Purolator oil filters and noticed that only about 10% of them came in below $5.99. Rip-off city. I ended up buying the oil at Walmart for $17.97 and bought a Fram oil filter for around $5. I'll not buy from Advance Auto Parts, again, and cannot recommend that anyone else do so, either. (Oh, and I'm putting this on Yelp because Advance doesn't have any e-mail contact information. I had a choice between calling or chatting to lodge my complaint. NOT!) read more

Been here three times. Had rude service three times. Went in today to find out if they had EZPasses. They don't sell them and the person we asked said you can only get them at the DMV. My son said that Giant (same strip mall) sells them and the employee said they didn't. Looked up on the DMV website, sure enough, Giant sells them. I understand the employee not knowing, but he could have said that instead of making up the fact only the DMV sells them. (In other states, EZPasses are sold at auto parts stores). Rude x 3, made something up instead of admitting not knowing x 1=never shopping here again. Will tell others to stay away. read more

Stay away from this place and Advance Auto. Bought a $200 car battery and it does not hold a proper voltage in the morning before starting and keeps tripping the battery light. I put the 7 year old battery back in and it has a higher voltage and never get the battery light in the morning. They will not honor a 3 year replacement warranty and the battery is only 2 months old. I spend a lot of money at Advance Auto throughout the years but never again. Very rude people and STAY AWAY! read more

His explanation - "I can't do anything about the corporate computers." Went to the Glen Burnie store and they got it working.
