Truck Access Plus (2549 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85008)…read more I've been at Truck Access Plus since 8:00 AM when they opened, and I felt compelled to write this before I even pulled out of the lot. They corrected a poorly installed Retrax EQ that another shop had messed up -- and that alone took hours. No shortcuts. No frustration. Just focused, meticulous work until it was right. From there, they custom-modified my Yakima OverHaul HD stanchions to integrate cleanly with my ADD roll bar. This wasn't a bolt-on job -- this was real fabrication. They even primed and painted the modifications so everything blends seamlessly. That level of finish tells you exactly what kind of standards they operate under. What truly sets this place apart is the work ethic and culture. Every single person in that shop touched my truck at some point during the day. Not one person stood idle. It was like watching a well-oiled machine. Mario was out there with his crew the entire time -- hands on, leading from the front. They didn't stop moving, and they didn't stop refining until it was perfect. While working on my truck -- which was far more complicated than most -- I watched them complete dozens of other vehicles. Customers rolled in without appointments and were still taken care of. Quick fixes, clean installs, professional attitude. No ego. No excuses. Just pros doing what pros do. They had everything in stock and knew their installations without needing to pull up instructions. Confidence backed by experience. These guys are the real deal. If you're looking for truck accessories, fabrication, overlanding setups, or custom work done right the first time -- I highly recommend the team at Truck Access Plus at 2549 E McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85008. Thank y'all for making my overlanding dreams come true. The truck isn't just built -- it's a work of art.

1 Star - Truck Access Plus Phoenix…read more Without question, this was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I purchased an OVS Pro+ for my 2020 Tacoma because Truck Access Plus had it in stock, offered same-day installation, and provided a holiday discount. Looking back, I understand why. My concerns included: * OVS Pro+ was not properly secured and was sliding on the bed after installation. * The shell sat approximately 1/16" from my rear window, creating a potential damage risk. * Mounting hardware was not properly tightened, and clamp engagement on the T-rail system was minimal. * Sales staff and installers did not know the required 8-10 ft-lb torque specification and had to contact OVS for guidance. * I was never informed that the hardware needed to be re-torqued after 50 miles and checked every 500 miles. * Wiring was left hanging after installation. * Excessive and sloppy sealant was present around the windows. * Multiple cosmetic concerns were discovered upon inspection. What frustrated me most was management's response. Rather than acknowledging any concerns, the manager maintained that nothing had been done incorrectly. According to him, OVS was wrong and I was wrong, but his installers were not. There was no accountability. The return policy was equally disappointing. The receipt presents a 25% restocking fee, which reasonably suggests returns are permitted if the customer is willing to accept that penalty. I was fully prepared to pay the restocking fee and labor charges. However, I was later told that all returns are subject to management approval. In reality, that means the return policy is entirely discretionary. If management chooses not to approve a return, then no return exists regardless of what is printed on the receipt. A more transparent policy would simply state "No Returns" rather than presenting a restocking fee that implies customers have an option. I was repeatedly told to bring the truck back in, yet I had already been informed that no refund would be approved. At that point, it felt like a waste of my time. If the product was truly inspected before delivery, many of these issues should have been identified before I ever took possession. After spending thousands of dollars, I expected professional installation, product knowledge, and customer service. Instead, I experienced poor installation, poor communication, and management that relied on a policy clause rather than addressing legitimate concerns. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Truck Access Plus Phoenix. If you choose to shop here, understand that a stated 25% restocking fee does not necessarily mean returns will be accepted.

Interesting experience at this Auto Zone…read more I lightly scuffed up my front right exterior and was looking for a scratch repair kit. The place had good traffic as two girls were being helped and then a father and a child came in looking for something. And another guy buying some cleaning product. I wandered around for a bit and then located the Turtle Wax scratch repair gel and also some microfiber sponges. Cashier rung me up quickly. As I was walking out, I saw a detailing wipe and thought maybe this might help get the scratch out. And this is when it got funny because the cashier couldn't offer any advice but decided to start guessing my ethnicity. And I was like rolling my eyes internally and thinking to myself, "I guess this is guess Vivian's ethnicity day." You dont know how many times in my life I get this and it gets super annoying after 49 years of this. One day, Im just gonna tell people to stuff it honestly. Or, better yet, start guessing back their ethnicity too. I think I watched a fun video recently showing the absurdity of it. So, his first guess is, "Korean." Nope, buddy, try again. He then says, "Oh, you're not fair skinned enough." And that was pretty annoying too. And at this point, I am like, "I get Korean a lot, but, nice try, you're wrong." He then tries again, and says, "Japanese." And I am like, "nope, you're wrong again." At this point, thank goodness, his coworker comes to help me. I ask should I try the detailing wipe, it looks promising! He says if you're vehicle is here, let's go take a look. And I said yes! And was so relieved to stop playing guess my ethnicity game and get some real help! So, we go out together and he takes a look at my scratch and then he says, "you could just get someone to buff it for you." And then also says, try the Turtle Wax you bought, that should work. Detailing wipe won't be helpful. At this point, I thanked the guy and then said to him, go tell your buddy in there, "I'm Chinese." I also wanted to add, "and you're an idiot," but I stopped myself. Some battles aren't worth my time. Like seriously people, do your job and help me with my question (thank goodness someone working here knew what was going on and trying to work) and for crying out loud, can we not play guess Vivian's ethnicity for once? I'm really tired of it, so stop being a jerk.
