A short baldish 30 something year old put the tester on the battery and said my alternator was bad (car only has 53000 miles). Since car wouldn't start I asked for a jump as I had my own jumper cables. He said no "sorry your day isn't going well." Got a friend to bring their car there and quickly jumped started. Took car to local dealer who tested the battery and it wasn't holding a charge ( only 80) and the alternator was fine pushing 13.7 volts. Had the dealer replace the battery. This Advance Auto Part employee had no idea what he was doing and the other two there didn't care. He also said clicking sound when turning the ignition was because of the alternator which is complete BS As that sound is the starter. I will never use this place again and will tell everyone I know about this shoddy business.

Main Street in Suffolk, VA, and I especially want to recognize Service Representative Baconta Buffalow for going above and beyond. After noticing my driver's side rear tire was low, I filled it and discovered a nail embedded in it. On top of that, my front driver's side tire had an inoperative TPMS sensor. I had an important appointment about 40 minutes away and very little time to spare after work. I stopped by RNR Tire Express hoping they might be able to help on extremely short notice. Not only did they assist me--they exceeded every expectation. Mr. Buffalow listened to my situation, understood the urgency, and immediately coordinated with the technicians to take care of my vehicle. While inspecting my tires, they also discovered internal damage in the tire with the faulty sensor that would have caused a dangerous failure if left unaddressed. Thanks to their thoroughness, they likely prevented a much bigger problem. Despite the last-minute request, they completed all the needed work quickly and professionally. The pricing was more than fair--especially considering the urgent timing--and they even applied a military discount without me asking. I left with peace of mind, safe tires, fully functioning sensors, and tremendous appreciation for the entire team. They gave him a transmission from a 96. He called on Friday around 3PM and they sounded sincere in making it right even though they're closed on weekends. On Saturday morning we didn't hear back and decided to stop by to see if they had one on the shelf on the way to get a transmission somewhere else in case they didn't. Well, they didn't have one. The OWNER was extremely disrespectful after he asked for the money back since the car is out of commission due to their screw up. After he gave the money back we asked why he was mad and he told us to f*** off and didn't care if we were paying customers. He also threatened to "hit us in the mouth". Not once did we cuss at him even after he dropped multiple F-bombs. Combined we work on a lot of cars and will never come back here. I'd rather pay more than deal with him.

I was referred to Joe's by a place I used to do business with in King George. I called and spoke to Joe who went above and beyond to a complete stranger/ female over the phone. He called around to other places for me when he did not have one of the parts I needed. However, I do call ahead of time to make sure that the parts are available and the two times that I visited here everything has been available and ready for pick up at the front desk. I actually have a mechanic that I work and he has a reputable reputation with the company as well so everything works out perfectly... availability and deals! The store is a little hard to spot from the road but if you have any GPS system it should guide you spot on! I used my Google Maps without worry. The shop is kind of small however they do have a few shelves of items that you can browse around to see if it's anything else that you need for your vehicle but they mainly specialize in imported cars. And store is pretty much for stocking items and not so much on the main floor. The building does appear larger from outside. No sugar coating here... they're definitely straight and to the point with you. A great group of guys. Parking is alongside the store on the street or there is parking directly behind the building. Be careful heading back on the main street... super busy area of Norfolk. They usually close at 6 during the week and a little earlier on Saturday...call ahead to verify.
