In my experiences most of them act as if they've huffed too many petrol fumes and someone peed in their morning coffee. Needless to say, overall not a pleasant experience. With that said, there's always an exception to the rule, and the exception is William Vermette. I have been doing business with Chuck & Eddie's for a while now and I was lucky enough to get William on my first contact with C&E. He has helped me numerous times and is always pleasant, professional, courteous, considerate, and will go the extra mile to make sure your needs are taken care of. Do yourself a favor and ask for him at Plantsville, CT store and avoid the other curmudgeons behind the counter as he will make your transaction smooth and pleasant.

When I came back to return it, he refused to help because I didn't have the original paper receipt. I showed him a photo of the receipt and asked him to look up the purchase in the system since it was bought at this store, but he wouldn't even try. I also showed him that the part they sold me did not fit my car, but he just kept saying, "There's nothing we can do." There was no effort to fix the mistake, no exchange, and not even a store credit, even though the error was theirs. Because of this, I ended up losing nearly $300 and had to buy the correct part somewhere else. I've never experienced such poor customer service. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this store to anyone

The short version; this shop helped me out majorly. The story; my car broke down on me, and after…read moregetting it towed to here and there I was told from everyone it was the engine. Ouch. So I got some quotes all between 8-9k and over. In a panic, I called the dealership and woman who sold me my car to get it towed there and explore options. When i called AAA to tow it from southington to danbury, an angel named Kurt came to to do just that. He understood the diagnosis and called his shop, showcase, to see if they could help. he then gave me a ~super~ discounted tow, regardless of whether I'd have it fixed there. After discussing all options with Rick, the mechanic, he understood my needs, budget, and was able to find the perfect solution with 100% honesty. I ended up paying less than half of all other quotes I got. Very happy with the service and will be back!

I just had my car worked on (SIGNIFICANTLY) and took it to Valvoline to change the transmission…read morefluid. I waited and when it was my turn, the car wouldn't start. These guys worked their butts off! Unfortunately my battery was completely dead. They tried jumping it several times. It turned out they didn't have my battery size. Because of their perseverance, ingenuity and genuine empathy for me, I was spared a tow bill, etc. They hooked a battery to it, started the car and then swapped out the old one so that I could get somewhere where they could do the battery. They went so out of their way that it is impossible to express my gratitude. I am now sitting in a garage waiting for the battery install. Rather than having them do the transmission fluid I'm going back to Southington Valvoline. It would certainly make "time sense" to have it done now--but I prefer giving business to those that value their customers.
