A bad situation all around, as we stood at at the guardrail for an hour. Had the car towed to McDonough's Toyota 40 miles north in Staunton. Filled out a service request, dropped it in the overnight box, and then drove a further two hours home to the DC area exhausted by the experience at the end of an 18-hour day. I didn't know what to expect from the McDonough service department, as I'm not a big fan of dealership service departments and not from Staunton. I ended up delighted, however. Stephanie was kind and helpful when she called me on Monday morning, the diagnosis and repair (new alternator and battery, unfortunately, which I'd assumed) was completed quickly, and we picked up the car on Tuesday. All the ladies we dealt with on the service desk were a pleasure to speak with, completely professional, and they returned my calls quickly after I left messages. The estimate was accurate and the cost reasonable for the work done. I hope I'm never in this position again; however, I'm glad we took to the car to McDonough. All's well that ends well.

I was told there was nothing wrong with my tires and they all had good tread and were fine. I took my car for an oil change 6 weeks later and was then told I needed two new tires. By the way, I had the same service technician both times. The tires only have 20,000 miles on them. I will not be getting any services here again as there are plenty of other places with a better rating to take my car. Thank goodness. I would advise people to stay away from this garage as they don't seem to know what they are doing.

Meghan was very courteous when I walked in and asked about getting the car inspected, and she managed my expectations by saying it might be late afternoon before they could get to it. Not a big deal, so I decided to leave it with them and catch an Uber to work. She called me before noon to let me know my car passed inspection and was ready to go. When I went back to pay for the inspection and get my car, I discovered that not only did they inspect and pass my car, but they also did a minor task that wasn't related to the inspection for no extra charge...without me even asking for it...a nice surprise!
