Location: Lake Mary. When I arrived at my appointment I was told by the (2) two people at the front counter the dollar amount I was to be charged, with a complete breakdown of costs associated with my treatment. I asked the front desk if this would be a covered procedure through my insurance and they advised it would not be, so I paid CASH ($1826.00). They did say that they could try to file it with my insurance and if anything was covered, I would receive a refund check, most likely from the practice. I agreed and had the treatment completed by Dr. Ryan Brennan, which was 5 stars and I am very happy with. Three weeks post procedure, I receive a bill from Advanced Endodontics (AE) for $21, which is listed as Intraoral Periapical First Film (i.e.: x-ray), which I already paid my CASH price of $149.00 -for an Oral Eval which included an x-ray, (which is what the front desk told me was going to occur). When I called to inquire with Leslie in Billing at AE, she first informs me with no hesitation that she sees the charge and has no idea what the $21.00 is for and doesn't understand why I was charged. She placed me on hold to check with the front desk. When she returned to the phone, she advised me that because they (AE) filed with my insurance to see if anything was covered, I had to pay $21. She said if they had not submitted it to my insurance then I would not have had to pay because I was a CASH payer. Nobody up to today ever told me there was a fee to submit the bill to my insurance and why AE would show it as an x-ray charge only shows that they are attempting to cover or hide the fees for the erroneous $21 charge. On my original procedure / payment receipt there is no indication of a pending charge, outstanding balance or stipulation for a charge to file with my insurance. She (Leslie) informed me if I didn't pay the $21 it would be sent to collections. This is very wrong in so many ways. She said information, or lack of, about a charge is not the responsibility of the front desk job, so regardless, I must pay. She said it is a legal contractual agreement with my insurance that I must pay. The most concerning point is AE attempting to cover the cost of the insurance submission as an x-ray charge, which is bordering on billing fraud. I guess to top it off was her dismissive attitude during the conversation on the phone. This $21 charge is not going to change my life, but now it's all about principle: Advanced Endodontics billing procedures, what is being told at the front desk, the treatment on the phone by Leslie and the way it was billed as an x-ray. This seems to be a way to charge customers for manipulated charges and billing irregularities. read more

I had to have a root canal done for a cracked tooth and Dr. Tej and the staff at AE were nothing short of amazing. From the moment you enter, the building is posh from head to toe like no other dental office I've seen. The technology is pretty cool too and user friendly. I was sent to Advanced Endodontics by my primary dentist for a root canal. After a week of intense pain I was given an emergency appointment. The entire staff was so welcoming and professional. I was treated by Dr Martinez and she was so caring and tenacious. She was having trouble finding a third canal, but continued to work and completed my root canal after 3 hours. I felt so much relief and they even gave me a tshirt. The next week they checked on me to make sure I was doing ok and even selected me as Clermont's Patient of the Month. Pretty much as good as a an experience can get if you need major dental work. I was dreading having to get it done because I have a long history of bad dental experiences since moving to Central Florida a long time ago, but I was put at ease right away. The lobby is bright and welcoming, as is the front office staff. The Dr's assistants are very good at what they do, and the Dentist was amazing. He made sure the procedure was literally quick and painless, and made me sad I didn't know about this place for all the previous work I've had done. He even gave me a t-shirt at the end of the procedure. This is the type of place that, while I highly recommend, hope I never EVER have to come back to. read more

I arrive at the appointment expecting them to go to work, but no it's just a $300 consultation where they tell me they won't take my insurance after all, even though it covers root canals and is accepted at most dental offices. But they don't give up. They wanted me to pay 8k out of pocket for their bumbling services and make more appointments. No Thanks! read more

I asked multiple staff at the beginning of the appointment to please not conduct any services that were not covered by my insurance. They did a non-covered test anyway (didn't even notice as it's a test where they just tap your tooth with a cold substance) and handed me a $78 bill at check out. The receptionist told me I could not leave the office unless I paid it, which I believe is not legal. She asked "you can't pay that?" which an awful tone in front of other patients, which was embarrassing. I asked who accredits the facility, hoping to read up on patient policy to help my case, and not one of the 4 staff in the office had any idea who their accrediting body is. I want to note that the young woman who first checked me in was much more kind and helpful, unfortunately I do not remember her name. It took about 2 hours of persistence and a gentle threat to report them to the insurance and referring doctor to finally get them to remove the false charge. read more

Everything about this facility screams LUXURY {but not stuffy.} After weeks of research, I mean hardcore research, I knew this was where I should be. I felt at peace during my first visit. My first encounter was a face to face conversation with Aaliayah, who was beyond patient with my 777 questions. I asked questions that I did not know existed, but she found the answer to each and every question. My second visit here was before my scheduled appointment because I was in excruciating pain - the pain was the devil himself. This visit, I met with Jessica at the front desk - I really think she's an angel in disguise. She was so patient and displayed a great amount of empathy. She worked with me through the tears - I mean ugly crying!! Finally, I met with Dr. Yang and she handled my situation like a boss. She was very informative, gentle, humble, friendly & professional. I gave a side eye to every piece of equipment and they were immaculate. This office boast of sophisticated modern technology with a human touch. I even got to watch a movie during the process. The first visit, I had a dental assistant in training, but I was very impressed with her. When she was unable to figure something out, she asked for help. Today, I came back for the part two of the root canal!! I know, yikes - shame on me for allowing this to go on for almost a decade. Guess, what?! The staff was consistent with the way they handled and cared for me and my tooth. Mara was so friendly, professional and funny. I mean, who cannot use a good laugh?! Horrible! This company calls me the day of my root canal appointment to tell me they can maybe squeeze me in today. After I called yesterday to confirm that my appointment was today and was told to be there at 1pm. The manager tells me that I left a voicemail requesting to cancel my appointment which isn't true. Scheduled my whole week around this taking off work and now have no appointment (even though it was confirmed by text and my phone call to them yesterday. Extremely unprofessional staff. I am livid. I had tremendous pain in a tooth that I knew I had waited too long to take care of. Advanced Endodontics in Clermont saw me right away (I called in the afternoon and they saw me the next morning) and by the time I left the office my pain was completely gone. I'm one of those people with an unhealthy fear of Dentists and they relaxed me and I felt no pain during the procedure at all. This place is very clean and has some pretty cool new technology. For someone who is comfortable with the dentist office I would recommend . But this is not for someone with a fear of dentist and root canals it's too fast paced like an assembly line for root canals: the drs have a microphone in and are told when the patients ready they run in say hi and immediately start working then move on to the next patient. I got my fourth root canal but my first one at AE today. I have SEVERE detophobia from childhood dentist visits. It is so humiliating to be a grown woman with grown children that still cry's at the dentist bc of a shot. I chose AE for the simple fact that they do nitrous oxide. When making my appointment I explained my dentophobia and said I wanted a female that was super kind and understanding. They said definitely Dr Ren is the doctor for you. WOW did I hit the jackpot times a billion!!! Monica was my nurse today and WOW I hit the same jackpot twice!!! Not only were they loving, caring, gentle and extremely understanding they were an amazing team. I want to explain that more. I was on nitro so they probably didn't think I would notice but I was OVERWHELMED with Dr Ren's respect and kindness towards Monica. Dr Ren said thank you to EVERY SINGLE THING Monica did to help her! It was obvious that she knew without Monica there her job would be nearly impossible. And thank you wasn't just words. It was a feeling of total respect! She treated her like a partner, a colleague and friend! The atmosphere in that room was peaceful and friendly! Also comforting and fun when Dr Ren was humming along to the "elevator music", in tune I might add!! Together Monica and Dr Ren performed a dance if you will. It was an award winning performance and I could FEEL the enormous respect they had for each other but also the friendship. The entire office is a loving place to be. They are a team that genuinely like each other and sees the value that each person has for making the business run seamlessly and they truly work together as an all star team! I was referred to Advanced Endontics for a root canal rework. The folks at the front desk were very helpful and even offered to reach out to dental office for referral they never sent and gave guidance on how to check in on provided computers. My root canal rework turned into two visits within a week of each I there. Dr Yang Sam, and Monica were awesome! They were very kind, comforting and guided me through what to expect. They got along very well and laughed a lot which helped me relax. Exam room was private unlike my dental office and took them up on nitris oxide which also made a great difference for me. Everyone at Advanced Endodontis are very nice, exceptionally people oriented. Dr Chen seemed extremely knowlegable, pleasant, lets the patient clearly understand what is needed and options to consider. I was to get a root canal, however, deep xray clearly showed tooth with two or more cracks. Root canal may or may not work and tooth would eventually need to be pulled. Dr Chen clearly professionally explained my options. Upon finalizing to leave, regular xray, deep scan xray, CD of deep scan, and consultation, my bill was $400 which left me shocked. They have great facilities, equipment, and staff, quess have to pay for all that. read more

Dr. Chen has nailed it on this office and he has thought of everything that makes his patients comfortable from being able to listen to music and watch movies while in the chair, to blankets if you're cold, to beverages in the waiting room. Its amazing how welcoming they are and how efficient Dr. Chen is at what he does. He's extremely meticulous and will only provide the highest quality of care. I was at the AE in Clermont yesterday. My greeter was Heather, who put me immediately at ease. My assistant or hygienist was Bianca. She & Heather explained everything in detail & answered all my questions. Bianca was very comforting as I had the injection. The office has state of the art equipment which highly impressed me & may be feel no stone was left unturned to see what my tooth situation was. Then dentist screwed up up all the drills pieces. Didn t put back in orde so she seemed confused. I hate to leave a bad review, since the doctors and public staff are respectful and professional. The behind the scenes staff and financial department are another matter. I have found them disrespectful, non-responsive, and deceptive. I was told that it is policy that a redo for an unsuccessful root canal was free up to a few months after the initial procedure; after that, it is subject to a charge more than the initial procedure. Fair enough. I have no issue with the policy and certainly am willing to pay for the procedure. The problem is that to my recollection I have never seen that policy and it would certainly have affected the timing of my return visit. I have asked repeatedly for the last month in person, by phone and through email for a copy of the policy and documentation where that was communicated to me as part of the informed consent paperwork. That request has gone unfulfilled, though it seems easy enough to fulfill if it indeed is the policy. I have also asked to speak to the owner or executive in charge someone in charge to discuss the matter. After a month I have still not been contacted by such a person. This is such a disappointment for a business that claims "Our patients are our priority." This complaint is really not about paying for a procedure but the poor treatment I received when daring to raise a question about the charge and this (secret?) policy. Still waiting. read more

My husband was having severe tooth pain and was having trouble locating a dentist that was open on Christmas Eve. When we walked in we thought what a blessing this office was open. The receptionist was very kind and explained if the tooth had to be extracted, they would not be able to do that, but could offer a palliative treatment which would kill the nerves so he wouldn't be in pain until the dentist office opens on Wednesday. We decided to move forward with that option. The male insurance verification specialist came out and asked me about my Cigna dental insurance. He said because it was Christmas Eve he would not be able to verify coverage. I accessed my eligibility and benefits online and showed him, but he seemed confused even when I pulled up the estimated verification. He said do you have the fee schedule and I said no, because that is between you and the provider that is not something that is shared with the insured, just the allowable. He proceeded to say because he was unable to verify coverage and eligibility that we would have to pay for the whole visit and when the insurance company opened on Wednesday they would refund after verification. I said ok and how much would that be? He went to the computer and started chuckling and said $1500. I said you are kidding, right? My husband was ready to leave and walked out. I asked can I please speak with the manager after the insurance verification specialist left. The manager came out and already had a put out look on her face like I was bothering her. She said what do you need? I proceeded to explain the situation and she said it is policy. I informed her that I know there is an automated system as well as an online tool to verify and estimate costs by putting in CPT and HCPC codes. She said they did not have that capability. I again reiterated how much pain my husband was in and there had to be something they could do. She said they could do the palliative emergency treatment with care credit. I said ok, let's do that. She told the receptionist to proceed with the estimate and application and walked away with a frustrated look. The receptionist handed me the estimate and it was $350, which is ok, even if I have insurance, but whatever. Then I noticed that the estimate was for the exact same thing we had discussed in the beginning, so how did it jump all the way to $1500???? Oh yeah because the insurance verification specialist didn't estimate the right treatment plan. Well needless to say since my husband had already went to the car and I decided maybe this wasn't the right place to be seen, as how the only competent and compassionate employee there was their receptionist. I can't rate the doctors, because we never saw one. I can say that my husband previously saw Dr. Chen a few year's ago when they were in downtown Clermont and he was great then. The staff is going to bring this place down. Perhaps they need retraining in customer service and how to verify insurance. read more

After THEY started my appointment late, they then told me I could not have the procedure done on the day of my appointment because it took more than 15 minutes to get an emailed confirmation from my father stating that it was okay to use his credit card. He sent the confirmation with in that initial time frame, but it wasn't worded properly so they needed it redone. Fine. He was happy to drive here and handle it in person. They clearly could have started the procedure while that was being handled and they damm sure didn't need to tell me that I would have to come back IN NEARLY THREE WEEKS to have my root canal done because of THEIR MISTAKE. terrible customer service. No empathy. Just awful. I need a root canal. That's not something you can put off for three weeks. read more
