I took my boat there after waiting a couple months for an appointment. Upon arrival I was greeted rudely by the younger guy there. He speaks down to people and has a bad attitude. I saw him that another customer rudely as well. The only reason he has a job there is because he's family. Anyway I brought my boat in because one engine wouldn't start and the other had an alarm sounding. I got the boat back and one of the engines still wouldn't run. I diagnosed the no spark condition myself and found a very obvious broken wire and that was the problem on that engine. Then I was able to take the boat out and the alarm started sounding on the other engine just as it did before I brought it in for repairs. When I told them what it was doing they described all kinds of situations that could cause the condition. I found out that only 2 conditions would cause a steady alarm on my engines... an overheat condition or a fuel restriction/high vacuum. I changed the fuel filters and now it's perfect. They also said they adjusted the timing which I believe they did because they broke a plastic piece that adjusts the timing which I will need to repair as well. I learned an expensive over 1000 dollar lesson to get nothing done on my boat that I would consider of any value. read more

I have yet to have these guys work on my boat... they are booked about a month out, so no luck, but I have to write about how amazingly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful they are. I just bought a new used boat and we had an issue with the trim... it would go down, but not up... I called another shop that im familiar with up in the Tahoe area and they said it was most likely an exterior pump that is malfunctioning and would cost about 2800 to fix. Ok, sucks , but what's worse is no mechanic has any availability. I called and spoke to Derek and he recommended to switch the relays... if the trim goes up, but not down, then it's the relay... we did exactly that and sure enough, it was the relays. Since then, he always returns my calls and what he isn't confident about, he'll have his Dad, Dave get back with me. I m sure I will, at some point be needing a boat mechanic and these guys will be my first choice for sure. read more

I brought my old 8 hp Yamaha outboard into them to get it running again. They were open on a Saturday which was a big plus for me. We took our 40+ year old boat here after the original Mercruiser stern-drive unit crapped out. We had it looked at by a mechanic near where we store the boat, and that shop wouldn't even put it back together after they dismantled it. They said it required a replacement, and the model was long out of production. He suggested that entire outdrive assembly could be replaced with a brand new equipment, but that would be $10K+ (more than the value of the boat). So it was us to me to try to find a rebuilt 40-something year old Mercruiser stern drive, which wasn't going to happen. Dave and Denise literally saved our boat's life. They provided incredible service, and found a highly reasonable after-market replacement unit for us. Dave's mechanical knowledge and understanding what can be done with an old boat is incredible, and we worked with Denise to make a couple upgrades to the boat while it was at their shop. They clicked through a list of many over-due repairs, including finding a vintage Mercruiser tachometer to replace the one that had broken years ago. This is a delayed Yelp review... the work was done 5 months ago. The boat is running great following the work done at Advanced Marine. We will definitely bring the boat back for future repairs and maintenance, and highly recommend the shop. read more

Called Advanced Marine to see if I could schedule a date to bring in my boat for an issue I was have with starting and my best guess is that my 2007 e-tec was seized. Dave got on the phone and asked me a few questions and after a brief conversation he told me he knew what the problem was. He told me what parts I needed for the repair and I ordered them over the phone. When I went to pick up the parts, Dave took time out of his day to go over some tips to get the job done correctly. Many service shops would have taken the opportunity to soak me for labor, especially when you consider that without Dave's over-the-phone diagnosis and advice, I was way in over my head. I followed Dave's advise and now I'm back on the water. He is very knowledgable and he and his wife(sorry, forgot her name)provide great customer service. I highly recommend and will be taking my boat to them when it is time for service. read more

This place is great! Very helpful, informative, friendly business. They were able to provide me complete diagnostics on my motor and more information about its history than I would have ever imagined. I originally came in for stinking of the throttle box which they fixed immediately and since I was there decided to have them service the motor, since it is a new boat to me. Derek gave me updates through out the day to let me know progress and status. When I picked my boat up, they walked me through service performed and answered all my questions. When I paid the price what was previously discussed and very fair for what I needed. This will continue to stay my boat service center for as long as I'm a boat owner. I bought a 23 ft chris craft center consol boat from Dave the boat broke down and when it was @ his shop he fixed it and sold it using another pink slip.He never paid me back and now i have to take him to court to try and get my money back. Took my boat for maintenance and to inspect propeller. Dropped off the boat on Thursday afternoon and it was ready for pick up the next day around noon. They drained and refill the lower unit oil, re greased the gears, changed the impeller and propeller. Very courteous and friendly. Gave me maintenance advise and tips. These guys rock. I thought I needed a carburetor rebuild on the Evinrude 48 SPL and was quoted $ 500 by another service center. I called David and he quoted me $ 250 and said he he have it done the same day. Long story short all my boat needed was new plugs, reset the timing, and a fuel mixture adjustment. I needed a couple small parts for my mercruiser and they had them in stock. Once I got there they were so open to answering any questions I had as well as physically show me on another boat, what to do and where to look. This is going above and beyond in today's repair world. In the old days this was the norm, you helped someone out. Now days people just want your money. These guys are amazing and went out of their way to help me. This being my first boat and coming from an automotive background, some of it crosses over and some does not. It was wonderful to have someone take the time to explain things to me to be successful. In fact, as I was performing the work on my boat, I needed another part (on a Saturday). They had it! I took my 1990 Wellcraft 233 Eclipse with a 570 Volvo and Duoprops. They turned my boat around in 48 hours and fixed a bunch of nagging problems. Excellent Shop! I had a mobile Mechanic come out and replace a Hydraulic Trim Pump, it was used, and stopped working after 1 time using it. I was trying to save money. I took my boat into Advanced Marine to have them look at it. Long story short they replaced the Pump with a brand new one, for the exact same price as I paid for the used one.
