Requested a full transmission repair on a blue '07 Mustang this past late summer. It was still pricey but well worth it. They were very patient with all our questions, showing up to check in, and dealing with a grumpy owner. I had originally posted a good review. But here I am 15,000 miles later and the rebuilt transmission these guys installed in my diesel truck has failed catastrophically. I even installed a temp gauge and upgraded cooler to make sure the unit would not overheat, yet it has still failed without any heavy towing, mainly just around town daily driving. Would hate to think what towing a trailer would have done to it. Owner proceeded to cuss me out in front of other customers in his lobby when I had raised concern of the trans not shifting properly a short time after rebuild. Steer away and go to a more reputable builder. $3,200 down the drain. UPDATE: Called greg Kaiser (owner) on March 2nd 2021 to address the issue stated above. He proceeded to tell me I was a f****** punk and to go f*** myself and my mother. What a scum bag to call himself an owner and post replies trying to back up his terrible business ethics. I highly encourage anyone considering using this business to search "Yelp" and see all of the 50+ other bad reviews of a similar experience. Lock this crook up for good!! read more

***Beware*** Incompetent Long story short. My husbands transmission was getting hot and it needed service. We dropped my husband's truck off to get the transmission serviced. Everything was fine until we picked up the truck. The transmission was overheating again. The owner said bring it back. We brought it back and turns out it needed a new cooler. Went to go pick the truck up and all but 2 of the lugs were broken off of the front tire. They tried to tell my husband to drive home on it. Talk about unsafe. They agreed to replace the studs in spacers and apparently couldn't find them. We had them take the spacer off and put on the spare tire. My husband asked them to make sure all of the lugs were tight before leaving. They snapped another lug off right in front of him. In addition snapped the allen wrench bolt that holds the lug covers onto one of the wheels again in front of my husband. Funny how we were able to find the spacer and purchased right down the street. My husband brought the truck directly home and parked it while we were waiting on the part. On the way to get the part the AC was blowing hot. They never even refilled the freon when changing out the transmission cooler/condenser. We picked up the part and took the truck to our tire shop and they were able to replace the spacers. They also were able to fill the freon that was low. The owner was rude, very unprofessional, after some words were exchanged and he complained that he is "just done with the truck" and "it already cost him 3 hours and money". In addition the owner denied hearing about the lug being snapped. It was visualized by my husband. He said to bring it back for the freon. Honestly at this point I wouldn't take my worst enemies vehicle there, I wonder what else he was planning on breaking or not fixing. I would rather file some complaints and request a refund for the repairs that we would have never had to make if we would have taken the truck elsewhere, or just done the job correctly. I realize that we probably will never get a refund. But at least writing a review may prevent someone else from getting ripped off. read more

I drive a 2007 Ford Mustang (salvaged title) I've had many issues with my vehicle throughout the last couple years since I purchased it in August 2019. I've had my transmission blow, busted my radiator, automatic windows broke at one point and most recently my tail lights and turning lights went out. Every time I've had an issue they've helped me promptly and for a great price, even aided me with a payment plan when my transmission blew because that was a pricey fix. 10/10 my favorite car shop I would recommend to everyone. I had a terrible experience with Jack and this shop. everything seemed ok in the beginning with the towing initial talks etc. The trouble started when I picked my truck up. Exhaust was not tight causing fumes to leak into the cab. The technician blamed me and a loose exhaust for the CO2 and after I explained where it was coming from because I have had transmission work done before did, he investigate further and "tightened" it more. Still leaked after i left and rumbled like it was still loose. Jack told me i needed a tune up ok great he gave me a quote which was generous, but they only partially fixed the problem. I asked for a full tune up, plugs, wires/coil packs etc to ensure the problem was fixed. Jack gave me a discount on price but that also came with shoddy partial work. Jack said they fixed my exhaust leak at the manifold but he said my issue was further down towards the exhaust end but they did not tighten it. I asked why not and Jack became combative and argumentative saying it was not part of the work order. So in short this shop will fix your transmission and for a fair initial price but that is only to soften adn grease you up for what is to come next and that is to partially fix issues so you have to keep bringing it back to them. Here I am One year later I'm writing this review. I got my transmission rebuilt and was quoted 1400 but ended up being 2,300 (first problem) . Second I had to bring my vehicle back numerous times for issues and that process it self was super stressful and money consuming with gas and towing fees. 3rd they couldn't fix my issue with my transmission so they ended up throwing a junkyard transmission in it. One thing they do is honor their warranty (that's the only reason I added another star)but not worth your time going back and forth 30 times jus to get it right. I ended selling my vehicle because I was tired of the numerous problems that occurred after they fixed it. I hope this review isn't just another bad review, I hope this helps someone in a poor financial position avoid a even bigger problem than what they already have. He told me he could fix my car by replacing the alternator, battery and cables for $1200 and basically begged me to let him do the repairs. He said I was lucky be there.... After he "does the repairs" he tells me I have a engine problem and that they do not work on engines. Why would you not tell me I have a engine problem when you first did the diagnostic? This was the absolute worse place i have ever encounter. Gregg is a liar and thief. He explained that the diagnoses would be 85-100 if we did not go with him for the repair. He sent a tow truck for the vehicle. He stated the tow was free. Now that he tried to greatly over charge for a repair and we declined he is now trying to charge 125 for diagnoses and another 155 for the tow which was stated to be free. The only reason i went with him was the free tow because the car was not able to be driven. After explaining to him that he stated the tow was free he began calling me a Mother Fucker and swearing at me. He is completely unprofessional and ignorant. I would never do business with this thief again. Greg's comments are complete shit i am not a mechanic. I did nothing on my roommates cars. so complete lie like he is good at. Lastly he tried to say the ac compressor was locked up as soon as our tow truck dropped the car off my mechanic friend and i both started the car. The compressor was turning fine and we ran the AC which was completely fine. this guy does not know what he is doing and is a thief. Lastly it turnout to be a missing bolt on the alternator mount which cost 3 dollars. not 900+ for ac work that did not need to be done. If you're not friends with the owner, STAY AWAY from this shop! The owner leads you to believe they can be trusted, but they CANNOT! I got a transmission fluid change and a/c check (it was working good, so more just a routine check). The owner said I had a hole in one of the a/c lines and it would cost $1,250 to fix, which is TOO EXPENSIVE! When I got home and looked under the hood, they had removed all of the freon from the system!!!! I recharged it and it works with no issues. When I called them to tell them that they REMOVED ALL OF MY FREON, they denied it. UNTRUSTWORTHY and SO EXPENSIVE!!! Edit: Dear Owner, please show us your "proof". PLEASE READ AND MAKE YOUR OWN OPINION!! Writing this review in hopes I can't prevent at least one person from getting scammed. I was told that my repair was going to be from $1,600 to $1,900.00 Once my truck was taken apart I was told it was going to be $2,900.00. I ended up purchasing a used transmission from another place and dropped it off. I was still charged $1,300.00 just to install it. I was forced to pay (in cash) and I was told if I didn't pay soon that I would be changed a daily storage free. When I came to pay there was another family in the office claiming they have experienced the same bait and switch scam. Once he has your vehicle taken apart, he's got you. He can charge you whatever he wants and will hold your car hostage until you pay. I am VERY disappointed in the owner. Either ALL these people are lying, or the owner Greg is a liar and a thief. If the prices are in line with the industry standards, he at least needs to quote more realistically. I'm obviously not the first one to experience this. I declined services and still had to pay 1k for them to remove my transmission and throw it all in the back of my vehicle leaking oil all over my vehicle. They threw the transmission pieces all on top of my kids items and ruined my whole vehicle i have pictures to prove this. My caps where also missing from my rims be careful with them. My tow truck driver told me that he would never take his vehicle there my vehicle was left outside on the side of the road with the keys under the mat who does that. VERY unprofessional! I was directed to this shop by Coach Net (AAA for RVs) when the transmission in my bus conversion developed a catastrophic leak on a trip back from Sedona. I was concerned about them being able to do the work as it's a small shop that services autos, but thought that Coach Net must have vetted them or they wouldn't have sent me there. I was wrong. They had no idea what they were doing. They failed to follow standard diagnostics for my transmission and elected to pull it at a cost to me of almost $1000. This left no way to know what was really going on since they had no knowledge of protocol for the Allison md3060. The morning after I dropped my bus there, I get a call from the owner telling me he had no idea about how to work on my transmission and was calling in a certified Allison tech and that he would call later with what the Allison tech found. Because there were no diagnostics done, a complete rebuild was recommended at a price of $13,000.00. Of course I was shocked, but I did my research and found this price to be absurd. It's basically robbery. I can only believe that the owner thought I was trapped there and would pay his ridiculous price. It's not easy moving an 18,000lb bus around with no transmission, but I'm not a pushover and I'm not stupid. I got it figured out and had my bus towed by the amazing guys at Power Towing to another shop that actually works on Allison's, treated me like a human and aren't crooks. I'm getting the same work done by an Allison technician with warrantee for half the price quoted by Advanced Transmission. They also left grease inside my bus and failed to supply me with all the parts from my transmission and needlessly damaged others. The owner yelled at me over the phone when I told him I was pulling my vehicle. Threatened me and said he wasn't going to release my vehicle. The mechanics that work there seemed like really good guys, but the owner..... Not so much. Don't do business here. Especially if you have a large RV or commercial type vehicle. They have no idea what their doing and will see you as a cash cow to be milked dry. My name is Joseph Nicolay. I have a 2015 Dodge caravan with 130,000 miles throw a P0740 code 'torque converter/solenoid problem'. Originally saw Ken's Transmission was highly rated so went there. They were so full there was no where to park (good sign usually). Told the person my issue and he knew right away and said the whole transmission needed rebuilt and it would be $4,400 without batting an eye. I was in shock so drove home then decided to get another opinion. I found Advanced Transmission & Emission so took it in. Spoke with Jack who heard the code and said the torque converter will be $1,800 to fix but will look for other issues. Here is my only nit. I already suspected it would be much higher based on Ken's assesment. It was ~$900 to pull the transmission off and open it up which goes towards the final price. This is standard industry practice because of the difficulty in removal. Jack called Monday and told me what they had found, and told me the parts that would need replaced, including some mounting brackets. Total cost is $4,200 for rebuild and new brackets. That's really good considering the brackets added ~$600. My only nit is the delta between estimated price and final price although I was mentally prepared based on the prior estimate from Kens. I only read the negative yelp reviews after droping off the van and panicked, but they seem to all revolve around sticker shock and not quality of work. The van runs great and the mechanics did well in my opinion. I would expect nothing less from experienced certified mechanics. I will most certainly return and make these guys my go-to shop based on this first experience. I am not very consistent in writing reviews. However I felt compelled to leave a review on this company aka Advanced Transmissions and Emissions. It is a long review but worth reading. I am a 70 year old successful retired aerospace engineer. I am not here to grumble or cry about my misfortune with this place. I am weathered when it comes to "bad things happen" It is my goal to give you a heads up and a warning prior to making a decision to take your vehicle into this shop. The shop, more specifically the owner, is determined to make money. He will use his many years of experience to get your business or force you into it (repair). The "bait and switch" technique is certainly employed here and perfected. It starts with the bait; smooth, friendly, willing to listen and take care of your problem at a reasonable "unbeatable" price. Once you agree to the price (you have no other price at this point) and before you know it, your transmission is out. Then follows the switch. The initial reasonable price is more than doubled. One would expect, at this point, that you have a choice. Either pay the steep new price or take your car elsewhere because you realized you have fallen victim to the popular "bait and switch" tactic. Here is where this shop has taken the bait and switch to the next level, perfection! Your transmission is placed in pieces in a box in the trunk of your car together with the drive shaft and supportive hardware. The owner of the shop, remains very accommodating, pleasant and willing to drop the price slightly to repair the vehicle. Otherwise, you pay a hefty price (in my case $885) to release your vehicle. Owner will claim he does not work for free...but $885 for 2-3 hours work and with your car disabled? You can leave your vehicle there for couple of days, while arranging towing, then you are hit with storing fees. It is a win win situation for the shop. First the bait, then the switch and if the switch does not work then the exorbitant price to have your car back. Either way, you are going to leave a considerable amount of cash behind. Owner, will only accept CASH for the end kill! I drove my car in, as I have done in the past for just transmission fluid change, and ended up having it towed away with the transmission, in peaces ,in the trunk and paid $885. It sounds like a sick joke, doesn't it? Luckily, I could afford this joke, can you? Unfortunately, I trusted this shop because i had done business (service) with them for many years. If I could give a 0 rating I would. They took major advantage over my 80 year old grandmother with hidden fees and lies. I asked for a manager who was literally 10 feet away and he ignored me while sending someone else out to talk to me. I asked for clarification got told more lies then when I started questioning their taking advantage of my grandmother manager decided to pipe in with demanding a refund from her debit card and instead pay with cash because he didn't trust her to not cancel the payment. Greg was very unprofessional and doesn't know the first thing about customer service. It's difficult to find a master mechanic as they are all retiring or to old To care about the craft like they once did. Greg definitely is a master in his area of expertise !! I know my way around the shop so this is from an experienced know. After a terrible time at another shop I spoke with Greg he immediately told me what to do and I listened I felt like I was back home! He told me he'd do his best to repair the problem the other guy caused and guess what? He fixed it! No leaking and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. My Jeep Wrangler's automatic transmission was rebuilt by Advanced in October of 2019 for $3550.00. 3 1/2 years later but only 11,400 miles on the transmission and the check engine light comes on and the transmission wouldn't shift correctly . Thankfully I was close to the house. The next morning it shifted fine and the check engine light went off. I went to emissions to get tags and unfortunately not all of my sensors were ready so they turned me away and said it needed to be driven more before they could retest it. On my way home the check engine light came on and the transmission would not shift normally again. This is when I called Advanced Transmission and told them about the problem. They told me to bring it down and they would check it out. I knew the warranty was only for a year and unlimited mileage.... this is my hunting vehicle and I rarely use it. Jack came in after driving it and said that the transmission would have to be removed and gone through to determine the damage. The charge was $985.00 up front but would be used towards the total cost of the repair. When Jack called back he said that the entire transmission needed rebuilt and the cost according to my receipt which included a 10% discount was 3,438.00. I was irritated to say the least and told them that I thought they should've given me a better deal seeing how it was rebuilt by them the first time. I asked Jack how I could have any confidence that this time it would last more than 11,400 miles? I got no real answers or compassion so feeling like I had no other options, transmission is out and disassembled, they got an additional $2557.02. to complete the rebuild. Last I checked $985 + $2,557.02 = $3542.02. They overcharged me $104.02. I have to admit that I was so irritated that I didn't even catch that until I got home. Here's the kicker of the whole review. After getting back in my Jeep I noticed that an ECM that I had on the passenger floor with some new oxygen sensors was gone. I searched the Jeep and then went in to ask where it was. After a few minutes Jack came back with my ECM (I had written my vin# on it).I asked him where it was and he said it was on their shelf. He then asked who took it out of my Jeep but of course nobody spoke up. THEY STOLD THE PART! I should've called the police. They didn't accidentally take it out of my jeep. It Had nothing to do with the problem they were working on! As for their work? I guess time will tell.... but if the past is any indication of what the future might bring. Sad to say I don't have much confidence. If it malfunctions again it will definitely be repaired at a different shop....even if it is still under warranty. read more
