I began using Advantage Dry Cleaners when I moved to Rancho San Diego three years ago...they have given me superb dry cleaning and alteration services from day one. This is a family owned business and the family treat their customers like family members as well. I took some badly stained clothes in that belonged to an elderly friend, really not expecting any dry cleaner to be able to do much with years-old stains that were "set". I had been using this cleaners for 20 years, and always had been happy with their services. I take exclusively clothes made of silk, cashmere, tulle, etc for cleaning so the quality of the cleaners is crucial. This time their was a new owner. I guess ( according to the prior owners) he is using a new cleaning system and many people have had their clothes ruined. He has fired all experienced employees and just trying to do it all himself. He RUINED 2 cashmere sweaters of mine--they'd fit a small doll now--and instead of saying he was sorry he went "Postal" on me. Do NOT take any fine materials here for cleaning unless you want to buy a new one. He's probably fine for ironing or laundry--just not dry cleaning. I contacted BBB and they have told me he is a dead beat--never answers them. My ID w/ BBB on this is #12974374. But they say he'll never even respond. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! The lady is so rude and has no idea what she's doing! I dropped a bikini bottom to take in (2 inches) and she had me try it on to pin where she needs to take it in from. She then said, come back at @ 6:30pm to pick it up. I went and tried it on before I paid, and guess what?! They were the same goddam size as when I dropped them. Her daughter then said my bottoms are high waisted, just pull them up higher, like how much higher do I need to put them up for them to not be as baggy as I brought them in! The rude lady said well I can't do it you have to come tomorrow. I told the lady I specifically told you I leave today for my trip, this is what I needed these bikini bottoms for. She said she can't cause they're closing at 7. If someone is running a legit business, then Do the job you promise and stay later to make your customer happy! Not to mention she only took it in from one place, see attached pic to see what a shitty job it was as it was even ripped! I can't believe it. Her daughter said it's ok we won't charge you and she argued with her daughter and said NO it's $18! Well lady I hope you sleep well at night knowing you didn't do shit but take $18 for a job you didn't do, so thank you and God bless! read more

Want to know why they offer a 20% discount if you pay in advance? Cause if they ruin your clothes you've already paid and they will give you the run around. Also I don't like places that are cheap with their service. Dropped off 5 garments and got them all back under one plastic bag. Not good is an understatement, this place is horrible. This review is a warning to those that might need any specialty dry cleaning. We brought in some linen drapery panels to be dry cleaned. Before dropping anything off, we specifically asked if they did drapes and were told "of course". The next week we picked them up, upon reaching home we went to hang the drapes we realized that they had ruined the drapes. They were 8-10 inches shorter than when we dropped them off, unpressed and whatever chemical they used had bled the colors. Clearly they were laundered and not dry cleaned. We returned them and thy said they would fix them. We have been back several times and they cannot be fixed they need to be replaced and the cleaners are not taking responsibility. They are stalling and they have not even returned our damaged goods. They have kept possession of our drapes. This all happened the last week in April. It is now the first week of July. We don't recommend them. They do not stand behind their process or their mistakes. read more

This Place is the only dry cleaner that I will go to, and I live all the way in Rancho Bernardo, but it is so worth it. The Service here is impeccable. You give your dirty clothes to the Advantage Cleaners, and not only do they really clean them, but they make you clothes look brand spanking NEW. The staff are always polite and welcoming. What a HORRIBLE experience I have had here. First, I called to check the price for an entire uniform and they told me $7. When I took it in she said it was $7 per piece on a 3 piece uniform. I was in a hurry, so I decided to leave it. I asked the girl behind the counter if they would retie the neckerchief if I left it to be cleaned too. She said yes, we do all the uniforms at the Marine Corp Exchange and are familiar with how to tie the neckerchief. When I picked up the uniform, the neckerchief was not only untied, but it was also clamped with a clip that left creases in the material. The shirt also had several extra folds and ironing that we couldn't even get out at home. This time it was a different lady behind the counter and she told me she didn't know why those creases were in there and how yes, it did look bad. She told me to come back and talk to the owner. I called several days later to talk to the owner and she was extremely rude. She told me "soldiers" had to tie their own neckerchiefs. When I tried to inform her of the misinformation I received regarding price and tying, she quickly became argumentative and hateful. She went on and on instead of hearing what I was saying and addressing my issues, she continued to insist how I brought the uniform to her with the extra creases. Why would I dry clean a ruined uniform?! So frustrating to deal with a business that is not in the least customer oriented. When I suggested a refund since I had to purchase a new uniform, she told me to open a dispute with my credit card company and hung up. Not happy. read more

Don't use this cleaners. I came in with special instructions that my shirt needed to be hand washed and my 501 Levi's needed to be dry cleaned and not washed. The owner said he understood completely what needed to be done. I came back a week later and noticed that part of my design on my shirt was chipped off I asked him what happened . He then tried to tell me it was like that when I brought it in which was not true because we looked it over before I dropped them off. And on top of that the stains were still on the shirt that I pointed out to him. And when I put my 501's on immediately I could tell they were washed. They were shrink to fit and now they barely fit. And to make it worse as I'm complaining about my dissatisfaction the mans wife is really going to sit there and try to charge me for messing up my clothes. I would never go here again . .This clown cannot follow simple instructions and he's suppose to be a dry cleaner. He even had the nerve to tell me he has difficulty cleaning simple white and black garments. I'm furious that they ruined my clothes. I have been taking clothes here for six months. Everything was fine for a while but they accidentally laundered two silk shirts -- a Tommy Bahama and a Robert Graham. They came out with all the sheen gone - the shirts are ruined. The owner, Sam, refused to do anything about it and refused to acknowledge that it happened. Do not take your clothes here if you want a business that takes responsibility for their mistakes. My loss is nearly $300. read more

This isn't the cheapest dry cleaning establishment I've ever been to, but the quality is top notch. I had a coat that belonged to my grandmother dating back to the 1920's. I had sewn these special buttons on it and wore the coat almost every day of one winter. I brought that coat to this place sometime in the spring and when I got the coat back I noticed the buttons were tighter than when I had sewn them on. The girl who worked there told me since she knew these buttons would melt or be damaged when my coat was cleaned had taken it upon herself to remove the buttons from my coat, clean my coat, and sew the buttons back on for me - no extra charge. I was kinda wowed by that. I am always impressed with their service. It's very high quality and even thought there are 87898 dry cleaners near my home I drive 20 minutes out of my way to take my clothes here because I know they do great work. read more

A terrible experience! I dropped off my daughter's wedding dress to be cleaned and preserved. They did not read the label that said "take off rosettes before cleaning". All of the beautiful rosettes were ruined and fell off the dress, most of the beading was hanging by threads, and there was a new (post cleaning) drop of blood on the train! The owner, Allie, offered to replace the rosettes with cheap little flowers and finally gave me $120 to purchase the original rosettes but would not refund my $100 deposit. To make matters worse, another owner, Mary, was extremely rude. She even hung up on me when I was only trying to calmly ask her a question. When I went to pick up the dress she initially refused to give it back to me. I don't think I would have gotten it back if my husband wasn't with me that day. read more

I have been taking my clothes to them for 20 years; made the switch when I found out my old cleaners actually sent my husband's dress shirts out to Advantage; so, I cut out the middle woman. It was just Mary, the mom, then; now, Elle, the daughter, pretty much runs the show. I can tell you that in those 20 years, I have NEVER had an unfavorable experience with Mom, daughter or any of their employees ... even new ones who are not totally familiar with computers or clientele. If I have an issue with a piece of clothing, I point it out to them first and they do their best. They are fabric savvy and stain experienced. I have taken high quality linens and recently my 30 year old chiffon wedding dress, worn again by my niece, for heirloom cleaning and packaging. I trust and respect their knowledge and certainly their expertise. They are friendly beyond the call when they have the time; we have shared personal conversations and become friends, even though I do not know them outside of their business. They are hard working women and provide a service of excellence to the Rancho San Diego area. read more
