These guys had a very quick response time to my quote, but when they showed up it took them 3 hours to move 2 rooms and a bathroom of furniture. They also added an hourly distance charge I was unaware of. They broke my things and took 3 weeks to come out and see the damage, then told me it was my fault for throwing away the broken glass because I didn't want my 2 year old nephew getting hurt. Only responded to my emails and repair/reimbursement requests when I threatened to go to the BBB (which is where i found them in the first place). I have a plant I dug up from my grandfathers yard when he passed and I replanted it in a pot that I've had for 10 years now. The movers crushed it by placing another full potted plant on top of it and then told me the damage looks as though it's due to lack of care and not being crushed. He literally offered me a "couple bucks" for it. I have signed and numbered artwork that custom framed. One of my pieces was mishandled somehow and the frame broke. Instead of compensating me for the estimate I sent them, the owner Tom came over and tried to mash it together for 5 minutes to "see how it worked." The worst part is one of the movers bled on my couch and then rubbed it in. I understand accidents happen, but when the owner called to inquire about this he said I should just wipe it off with a wet rag. I am going through the BBB to get my money back for my move and the damages covered for my things as they refused to reimburse me for all of it. The owner was inconsiderate, rude, and insulting. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you value your belongings. read more

The twelve months I spent in my first apartment flew too fast--not because I liked the apartment or had any sentiments about it being my first place, but I just really hate packing and moving. I know nobody LIKES these things, but a really awesome moving company sure makes it a lot less stressful, and that's where Advantage Moving comes in. I got a quote a few weeks in advance (with a generous Yelp discount, to boot!) and was thrilled to find it was significantly less than the few others I'd gotten. On moving day, two guys in an Advantage Moving truck showed up right at 8:30 with two dollies and a mass of other moving equipment. Both were friendly, good-spirited and wasted no time getting started. Furniture that would take three of me to drag across carpet was lifted over a shoulder and carefully maneuvered down a winding staircase. I was even complimented on my togetherness and organization despite running out of tape two boxes too early. From my three-story walk-up to an unlit storage unit in a narrow hallway, these guys got my stuff in safely and were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy with everything. The price was exactly what I was quoted and the whole move took less than two hours. One of the guys even turned out to be a fan of my favorite hockey team! How cool is that? Every year I pack up my stuff and move to a new area code. I'm always shocked and/or disappointed by the cost of movers and damage done during the moving process. Typical Movers are late, rude, have to stop for gas, or want to charge you extra for things that should be included. The guys arrived early *gasp!*, didn't waste a single moment, listened to me carefully as I pointed out what was mine and what was my room mates, and packed my entire place up in less than an hour. When we arrived at my new place, the guys unpacked my stuff extremely quickly. They both checked in with me before setting certain furniture down to be sure I was satisfied with the location. I let them know I only wanted to spend $200 and they were kind enough to alert me when we hit the cut-off (by which these miracle movers were already finished).They worked as a team to ensure I was totally happy with every aspect of the move. I'm excited to move in the future knowing that I have a dependable source I can call for help. Not only were they the fastest and most considerate movers I've ever worked with, they were also the cheapest. I will absolutely be recommending them to family and friends. The first time I used Advantage was a great experience. Three guys were sent out, they were on time, careful, fast, and didn't nickle and dime the small items and additional boxes. The next time I moved I used a company referred by a friend but had a bad experience so this most recent move, I called Advantage again. This time I got two guys and a dented frig, dish washer and chipped dresser. And I would have gone out and gotten the largest boxes I could find if I knew they were going to tick mark off each and every box. I'll be hard pressed to use them again and will certainly insist on a different crew if I do. Oh, and I will not use small, carry-able boxes that are all the same size, they will be huge. read more

These guys were amazing. Arrived early because they had an opening in the time slot before mine and offered to help me pack but my apartment was not even close to ready so I declined. They came back about 10 min before their scheduled time which was perfect since I had to make some adjustments to the inventory I had previously given them. I got a new quote on the spot which was more than reasonable. The team moved everything from my third floor apartment in just a few minutes. Unloading everything was so quick and they even asked me what I wanted to go in specific rooms. Not to mention Dee was so helpful from my initial quote to answering all my questions about my inventory. She remained in contact up until the day of the move just to make sure everything was still going ahead as planned. Overall, they were truly awesome. I've used this company for two moves. Both were phenomenal experiences. The first was a last minute unplanned emergency (long story). They luckily had capacity and sent over a couple guys with almost no notice. The guys were fast and efficient moving my things from a house to a third floor apartment across town. I was amazed at how quickly they did it, and with smiles whole time! The second move was actually to leave Austin and, sadly, Texas as well. They helped me pack up my trailer far better than I could have hoped to do myself. Everything arrived safe and sound after a very long road trip. At the same time, they helped move some appliances to a friend for me. Unfortunately, there was a little damage during this move. They went out of their way to help with the repairs. I called under a very short notice, and the receptionist was very prompt and polite with returning my request for a quote. she walked me through my request to make sure we were on the same page as to what needed to be picked up from my current home. She told me the available times and even game me suggestions on the best times to schedule. Once scheduled, she sent me a confirmation that highlighted all the items that needed to be picked up. I decided to go with Advantage Movers after a few horrible experiences with other companies. Van Lines over charged me and lost a bunch of my things. I hired 2 guys on Craigslist and they broke a bunch of my stuff. I hired Advantage because a friend used them the month before and said they did a good job. They were awesome. They got the job done, but refused to wear masks and didn't bother putting a lot of the well labeled boxes in the appropriate rooms and were kind of grumbly about all of the stuff they had to move. My husband and I recently moved out of our two-bedroom condo and decided to hire movers since we had heavy appliances (including a front-loading washing machine on the 2nd story -- yikes!). After checking Yelp and seeing Advantage Moving's 20% off coupon for Yelp customers and good reviews, I figured they were at least worth getting an estimate. The estimate came in very reasonably, and we were sold! We had exactly 100 boxes, plus furniture, appliances and a grill and the two movers were very professional, skilled, and quick. They clearly knew what they were doing and filled both their truck and our storage unit very efficiently. They were very helpful in letting us know that adding this or that on to the estimate might be more expensive than we'd be wanting to pay (i.e. shoe organizers) - so we took them in our car and they loaded them in to the storage unit with the other items that they'd transported. **In response to Melody T's issue with items not being "on the list" - our two movers were very accommodating in letting us add things on site to the quote. As a matter of fact, we had called ahead of time to ask about getting a re-quote (once we'd packed and saw exactly how much stuff we had!) and the manager said that it is their standard policy to adjust the quote ON SITE and that it would be no problem.** In all, we would highly recommend them! My husband and I moved from Pflugerville to Lewisville a few weeks ago and the guys from Advantage Moving were AMAZING! Those two guys were some of the hardest working people I have ever met. They loaded up our house into their truck in under 2 hours, were very accommodating when we requested to drop two items off at my sister's house on the west side of Fort Worth, and unloaded our stuff into a garage and apartment in Lewisville in record time.
