There is really only one person there that has any kind of customer service ability. The Pilipino guy at the parts counter is awesome, too bad everyone else acts like you owe them something. I got quoted $1450 for a valve job an a '14 R6. Whhhhaaaatttt? In 20 years of owning multiple R6 I have never paid more than $1000. These dudes want to rip you off in the worst way possible. I encourage you, if you are considering getting service there: go to the counter tell them what you need, then say the price seems a little high... you will see Banner turn to Hulk. I told them I got quoted $1050 at LCC, which is true, and they got extremely rude with me. Keep one thing in mind, this is a veteran owned business, I am a veteran, and they know that, and they still act like pricks. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect a fair price. I expected too much I guess. I wouldn't recommend LCC either (I left a review for them too) in today's climate, you would think these places would want to retain consumers, but their employees don't seem to have the customer service tools in their toolboxes. I have given these guys multiple chances, and they are just rude and entitled. I can't trust my bike with someone that's trying to rake me over the coals. read more

I recently dropped off two jet skis at Advantage Power Sports for service. When I returned to pick them up, the taillight on the driver's side of my trailer was broken off and dangling. I had specifically inspected both taillights before leaving home, and they were fully intact. There were no incidents while driving, and the damage was clearly new when I picked up the trailer. When I pointed this out to the technician, he brought it to the attention of the service manager. The manager told me immediately that the light was already broken when it arrived, which didn't match my memory or inspection. He offered to review camera footage, but the video was too distant and unclear to prove anything. It honestly seemed like someone may have accidentally stepped on or kicked it while the jet skis were being worked on. What really disappointed me wasn't the broken light itself -- that's an easy fix -- but how the situation was handled. Instead of listening and trying to find a fair resolution, the tone quickly shifted to defensiveness. It felt less like a company standing behind its work and more like a "cover yourself" culture. This isn't about the cost of a taillight; it's about integrity and how customers are treated when something goes wrong. I believe most people are good, and most businesses want to do right by their customers. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. If you choose to do business with Advantage Power Sports, my advice is to trust but verify -- document your equipment before you drop it off and inspect everything carefully when you pick it up. read more

Everyone makes mistakes. The difference is how they handle that mistake after it's made. This particular company didn't check their work before the vehicle left the facility, almost causing a wreck because they didn't install the brake levers correctly, didn't communicate with the customer for 9 days about the problem after it was returned, lied to the customer about it being a faulty part after having to be pressed to resolve the issue, untagged themselves in the review and then blocked the reviewer. A company worth doing business with would take accountability and have enough integrity to make it right for the customer. That is not this company. read more

Extremely disappointed from top to bottom. My salesman was great on the phone. Sold me a unit over the phone and drove 6hrs Round trip to pick up, upon arrival He said less than 3 words once there waiting on finance guy. He was playing on computer. Typical these days. Then finance was ok but the " free trailer " is a gimmick. Totally screwed on that. He even said " the state wont allow it" Unreal. Too bad they had the exact ski I wanted or I would have walked. Then they hand me off to a 90 year old man for delivery. he knows NOTHING about Seadoo! . He left winch post bolts loose, bunks set exactly wrong and the "free straps are a joke as well. They need to be ratchet straps not cheap amazon crap. Parts has ZERO in stock parts and when I asked about a trailer light adapter they laughed. TOTAL DISASTER! My wheel bearing disintegrated while on a 4,000 mile tour and 700 miles from home. The professionals here went above and beyond my expectations to source new bearings. I watched them go through the process and every person at the dealer helped, including a tire rep that was present. They successfully sourced a set just a few miles away. Would not recommend this place. First they agreed to pick up my bike from house if I purchased a tire from them. After I bought the tire from them, they said they no longer pick up bikes. When I dropped the bike off I told them- I wanted the oil changed, the spark plugs changed, starter fixed, and rear tire changed. After waiting 6 weeks on a tire- they told me they couldn't find one and all Yamaha tires were on back order nation wide. So, I called around town and found a tire in less than 10mins. I dropped the tire off for them to change. I was called the next day to say all repairs were finished and bike was ready. When I went to start it, it still didn't start- even though they charged me a diagnosis fee. Then I checked the oil and it was jet black and looked nasty. Come to find out- they didn't change the oil, change spark plugs, or replace the ignition switch. They did nothing and changed me $175. They billed me for everything but didn't do any of the work. Use at your own risk. This place is shady. read more

I came here for an inspection on my newly purchased motorcycle and a quote on some work I needed done. They did the inspection rather quickly which was nice. However, I got to talking to the service department. They wanted 160 dollars for an oil change. I ended up doing this myself for 49 dollars and twenty minutes of my time. Then I told them I was in the market for new tires. They would show me tires but not prices. When I finally got a price out of them, they were twice as expensive as what you can buy online. They always wanted 180 dollars to change both tires whether you bought from them or not. It's hard to get anyone's attention inside the building and everyone has to ask others questions. It's a very expensive and terrible experience. Take your business anywhere. You'd be better off at wal mart. read more

Wanted to buy a 2021 GOLDWING Tour DCT here locally but, in my opinion, the lack of interest at this shop was unbelievable. It was obvious they couldn't care less if they sold this $30,000 motorcycle or not. I felt like I was bothering them to ask questions about the bike and the salesperson was severely lacking in fundamental knowledge of this bike. I ended up buying a new GOLDWING in Blue Springs. Tried to buy a second bike from this place today, and was told there was 2 groms available. I put in a credit app, as did my co-signer because I have less than great credit. I chased them around for a total of 5 hours before I got an answer. I was not Offered an opportunity to put a deposit down. They were sold. I left a poor review on Facebook, and Todd called me threatening to sue me if I didn't remove the bad review "because that's not what happened". He then proceeded to talk down to me because of my credit score. Moral of the story, don't do business with these guys. They should change their name to Taking Advantage Powersports. read more

I would not recommend. Purchased ATV with trade in. Received purchase quote in writing (after I had to ask for it in writing). When I mentioned the $1,000 Polaris rebate that wasn't shown in the quote, the trade-in values were suddenly a mistake, and reduced to cover the difference. When I questioned why the trade-values dropped when I asked for the rebate, the sales staff told me "take it or leave it" - literally. Won't purchase from again because they lack integrity. It's a sellers market sometimes in this area, so options can be limited, and they know that, but I'll expand my search next time. From that moment forward, the parts and service department have been horrible. One of the worst I've ever experienced. Second time ever!! for writing a review about anyone.. but this place calls for a first time and last time experience. Called a week in advance, appointment for following week at store opening 9am on a Tuesday. Issue was over a steering problem on a Polaris 570 Ranger. Steering wheel crooked, also turns sharper to the right side then the left. Simple you would think, called Wednesday evening to check status. Advantage Power Sports Service dept says I'm next in line to be worked on. On to Thursday morning, I call again in the morning, Service Dept says I'm next in line, same as Wednesday. On Friday, I get a call from Advantage Powersports KC; Said they found the issue, was low tire pressure causing the unit to pull to one side. Took the technician 30minutes to add air. the bill was 48.75. Without arguing, I took the unit to another dealer who found the issue to be in the steering box. I don't recommend this place, service dept is slow and useless in repairing. Also the tire that was low on Air.. Has always had a slow leak, they didn't bother to fix that either. read more

I have gone into this business on multiple occasions, each time I have been able to walk the entire showroom(twice), mount motorcycles, look at helmets and accessories and exit the building without even a "Hi, can I help you?" Now I go in just to see if they will. It's become a game, a very sad game. I never recommend this business. Don't waste your money on this poor customer service business. read more

If the parts department is a reflection of the rest of this dealership then do not bother going here. I had gone to another Honda dealership (Shawnee Cycle Plaza) here in town for a part. They were out of that part but checked local stock and found that Advantage did have one. They wrote down the part number, gave me the address, and with a smile sent me on my way. At Advantage, when comparing the old part with the new part, it turned out that the part number we had looked up was the wrong part number. It would take three days to get the correct part and two days to ship to me. The other dealership is closer to my house and easier to pick up the part so I decided to order the part from them and save myself two days of shipping. They refused to give me the part number and said I would have to order it from them and that they do not work with other dealerships here in town. I have ridden motorcycles for many years and have found a brotherhood amongst its participants. This dealership does not fit that mold. Shawnee's moto as stated by their parts department is "I hate to see you not be able to ride because of a part". Advantage's is we don't give a damn. read more

I hate to do this BUT...something fishy happened and I smell a scam. Advantage Powersports tried to charge me $1000+ in parts...for $552 worth of parts at another dealer. They also tried to charge $1000+ in labor....for $606 at another dealer...$40 in "shop supplies" versus $0 at another dealer...and $115 (plus 9$ in shop fees on top of that) for something that was already and easily diagnosed. I somewhat understand the diagnosis fee but that shop fee is ridiculous. This is robbery in general. Also, the same owners own 3 KC area dealers but are not upfront so chances are if you shop around you will get robbed at the other 2 locations since their computers are connected. (Advantage Powersports, Freedom Cycles and Warrensburg Cycles). Take my advice and check with RENO's powersports in KC or make the drive outside of KC. I was given an almost $2200 estimate at Advantage for a $1158 repair elsewhere. read more
