Not sure how this place is sitting at a 4.7, unless the rating scale is based on how well you tolerate bullshit. The room looked like Sherlock Homes filed for bankruptcy and had to furnish his office from a flea market clearance bin. The puzzles just didnt make sense, it wasnt "challenging", it was just a bunch of random shit thrown together, and we were just stuck there playing "guess what the owner was thinking". And the best part? They locked the door and then completely ghosted us on the walkie talkie. No hints, no responses, nothing. The walkie talkie turned out to be just as useless as the rest of the props. At that point it stopped being an escape room and started feeling like a low-budget hostage situation. I've had better communication from people that owe me money. Basically paid $100 to get locked in a bootleg Sherlock Holmes office with zero support. At one point I wasn't even trying to solve clues anymore, I was just wondering if I should start rationing oxygen and writing my will on the back of a fake clue envelope. ------------------- Response to owner: Yes, the walkie talkie was eventually replaced, but there was a solid stretch where we were locked in asking for help over and over with zero response. Not once, not twice, multiple times. At one point we literally gave up, sat down on the chairs, and just started having a full conversation. On the clues... we didn't ask to be completely abandoned, we just didn't want to be spoon-fed. There's a big difference between "let them figure it out" and "let's pretend they don't exist". And regarding the "wrong locks", that kind of proves my point. If everything feels like it could go anywhere, it stops feeling like solving puzzles and starts feeling like you're just trying random combinations and hoping something clicks. For the price this isnt worth it at all if im being honest. The experience just didn't match the price point, especially when part of the game was us sitting there like extras in a movie, waiting for someone to remember we were still locked inside. read more

This was my first escape room experience and I was skeptical -- I'm not a big fan of what I like to call "manufactured circumstances" (e.g., board games and the like). But, Adventure Vault's "Mystery of Sherlock" kept my attention and I would even say that I would consider trying one of their other rooms in the future. They did a nice job of building the room to look and feel appropriate for the story, and the gentleman running the place was helpful, pleasant, and supportive. My only complaint -- and it is a minor one at that, and perhaps rooted in my inexperience with escape rooms -- is that because it was constructed to be "linear," that is, we could only work on one clue at a time, and we had seven people, it felt like not everyone could be working on something at the same time. In the grand scheme of things, a minor issue, but just something to be aware of. Highly recommend, particularly for skeptical newbies like myself. read more

From the start the employees acted like they didn't want us to even want us to be there which is always a back feeling from the start. Compared to other escape rooms this one was not our favorite. We expected the codes to be a little more difficult which lead us to think they were something hidden within when it was literally the simplest numbers. Also, you can hear literally everyone in the room. It was so loud that you can't think of what you are supposed to be completing. To end the day they didn't even care to ask if we wanted to photo or anything. They just said goodbye and that was it. Absolutely nothing special about this place. read more

We had teams in all 3 rooms and everyone enjoyed themselves. The rooms make you think, challenge you just enough to keep you engaged and urge you to think outside the box, and are incredibly decorated. If you need help you can ask for hints, all the rooms are put together extremely well. It's all intricately designed and arranged. What a pleasant surprise. Came here on a spur of the moment date night and it was amazing. Affordable too but of high quality. My partner and I were in the Sherlock Holmes room, just us two. It was nice because we expected to be in a group. The way that they orchestrate the room was great, things happen that you wouldn't expect, though we had to get a few hints at first. It was an absolute delight. I never thought I would be the kind of person to enjoy this sort of thing, but this made me a convert. I would recommend this to couples, friends, or entire families. Very disappointed. We did the death and breakfast room and it was completely ruined because half of the room was broken... a door that was meant to be unlocked through a puzzle simply opened as soon as we touched it, allowing us to skip over 6 different puzzles in the first room that then did not make any sense because we were solving puzzles in the second room while not understanding how to get the first room ones done. The man working there told us it wasn't supposed to open like that and when he saw us in the second room he was confused how we even got there, but realized the door malfunctioned. I just had the misfortune of having my reservations cancelled in this venue due to being a solo player, with no indication whatsoever that there was a requirement of two or more players to play the game. This even after my credit card was run and I received the "confirmed" e-mail. I verified with the staff that this "two or more" requirement is solely due to their belief that the games are too hard for one person (i.e. not that the puzzles themselves require four hands or something -- which is true only for one puzzle in one of their three rooms). I told them if it's theoretically possible for me to beat the room, then I would much rather play and lose than not play at all. Then they informed me if I wanted to play I would have to pay DOUBLE the price to even have the opportunity! Are you insane? What absolute horrible customer service! So their "two or more" rule is just about pure greed it seems. And they knew that I would be driving all the way from Miramar (~90 minutes away in evening traffic) and booked all three rooms to play back-to-back-to-back. All this from the mouth of what I assume is their front desk staff guy who had to "call the manager" and act as middleman to tell me these things. The manager didn't even have the fortitude to call me directly to tell me this bad news personally, which is interesting as well. I have played some 250+ escape rooms and while I've seen the whole spectrum of levels of customer service quality, it takes a lot to be so bad you don't even get someone you know to be a guaranteed customer to come in the door without first trying to extract an extra $84 out of him. I was quite looking forward to playing again, too. Meh. ------------------- Edit in response to owner's comment: I have screenshots too: https://i.imgur.com/oL39PAu.jpg -- card *charged* for $28 for *one* guest. If this was their policy all along, why is this not listed anywhere on their booking page? Why am I able to book for one person at all? Why does the transaction go through? Furthermore, "company policies" limited the extent of my experience itself. Customer service is a huge aspect of the escape room industry. There's probative value for future potential customers to read stories like mine. Most players may not be solo players, but most players recognize escape rooms that exist solely as cash grabs, and most players will probably want to avoid such places. read more

I came here to do Death and Breakfast. There was a group of 5 of us. The room holds up to six players. I would say that particular room was of medium difficulty for experienced players. We finished in about 55 minutes. I thought some of the puzzles were easy. There were a couple that stumped us. I thought the room was enjoyable and would do another one here. read more

First of all, if you haven't done an escape game before and are thinking about it, just book now. It's SO much fun and is amazing to see how your group solves problems and works together. You'll be talking about it for hours after. :) Second, whether you're a rookie or veteran, try a game here! This was only our second time, but it really stood out compared to the first place we tried. It was clean, bright, and well organized. The husband and wife owners are super welcoming and you can tell they have a passion for this. We did the prison break room which is the more challenging of the two they currently have (opening a new "Sherlock" room soon) and yes we took over an hour but we finished it with just two of us! They let us take extra time, which was very nice. Really creative and awesome puzzles. Tips: * Listen to the advice they tell you in the beginning that the puzzles are sequential. I did an escape room before and had a blast. This time around my workplace had an outing and we came here. Unfortunately the room had not been properly reset the night before. My coworkers weren't so nice about this to Jessica, who was working at the time. I just want to say that Jessica did a phenomenal job dealing with them being rude to her. No one should have to be spoken to in the manner they spoke to her! But she was still professional/kind/very apologetic and tried her best to fix the situation. We were only in the room for about twenty minutes and then left, but I'll tell you what...I'm sure it would have been so much fun! I was having a good time trusting to figure things out. Definitely going back with a better group of friends. Lol. Thank you Jessica for being so sweet and patient with our group(even though half of the group was being mean). I love escape rooms and I've done a few so far. I really enjoyed the escape room here because I thought the clues were reasonable and well thought out. They were also pretty well organized. I've been to some where everything was so random and ridiculous that you really couldn't correlate the clues but this place was pretty good. I plan on going back to do the other room. The staff was really nice and the place was clean. I like that they let to finish the room even if your time runs out so you feel like you got to the end. I wish we had another 10 minutes. Wow! Where do I begin... This place is awesome! As waiting for our party to completely arrive, cause one of my friends is always late.. Lol! J/k well kinda she drove up from MIA.. We were entertained by the 2 guys who run the show and make the rooms.. We had a couple cocktails before we arrived which made it even more interesting. My group and I completed the prison break room, I can't say we played by the rooms but we did great! So needless to say we were put In the room left a little confused and then cheated our way out. Okay, so to be honest we didn't really know we were cheating until we got out of the room.. We missed quite a few clues and steps along the way but the point is to survive right? If there's a will there's a way. There were 6 of us, and we had clues everywhere.. We probably needed more of a leader but we are all a little loud and like to be the boss of everything.. Problem! Lol! We did fine though and for what it was we made it out, that's the whole point. We all can't wait to go back to try our luck in a different room. The guys also showed us the new room they're making that looks out of this world Sherlock Holmes kinda shit! Let us know when you're up and running with that room we are totally in!
